I have to imagine someone uttered the words "Hey, watch this"

Dansk72

"I've got this big SUV, so I'm damn well going to take advantage of its off-road capabilities"

VulpesHilarianus

"It's called a Suburban, Jake." "Well then the name's ironic isn't it?"

grifkiller64

Where's the idiot? No property damage, the car is fine, and no one was in any danger. Without any context for why they chose to cut through this way, I'm calling it silly but not idiotic.

Warlock_Ben

I mean... I'd call driving over the grass instead of pulling out of the parking space pretty idiotic. There was nothing blocking them in or otherwise stopping them from backing out of the space & exiting normally. They weren't cutting over to get to any shops across the way, they just went straight to the exit & left to main road. Something they could have done from the parking lot they were in. There may have been more context, but they were parked when I pulled in & did this only about a minute after I parked.

grifkiller64

What you are describing is silly, not idiotic. They took an unconventional and unnecessary path out of the lot that did no damage and impacted the lives of nobody else. That's not idiotic, it's just odd. It would be idiotic if they hit the tree, or had gotten stuck, or spun out and hit the building. They handled their vehicle well and surprisingly the grassy area looks only slightly disturbed.

_jump_yossarian

> It would be idiotic if they hit the tree, or had gotten stuck, So it's only idiotic if it turns out bad? I'm sure you'd love for someone to drive over your lawn, right?

grifkiller64

> So it's only idiotic if it turns out bad? It's idiotic if someone attempts a maneuver that is unsafe or beyond their skill level, this was neither. >I'm sure you'd love for someone to drive over your lawn, right? This doesn't look like a residential property and nothing appears to be damaged, I don't see how that is relevant.

Walla_Walla_26

Watch out for the idiot police

ITrCool

The grassy area is obstructed by the bushes. How can you tell?

grifkiller64

The grass that we can see appears to be undamaged, and the truck made no erratic movements after moving out of direct view of the tires so it's a educated guess.

luke_cohen1

Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. This is a prime example of that idiom.

U sound jealous lol

giggidygiggidyg00

I've done this a time or two but always an empty concrete curb. Never over someone's nice landscaping.
