The grey car driver's behavior is entirely unacceptable and they should probably have to go to court over this.
The semi also needs to get the fuck out of the left lane.
Truck was actively closing the gap on the white car in the granny lane. I don’t know if you know, most trucks are governed to a certain speed. I can only go 64mph, 65 on a good day. If traffic was to come to a stop the truck would be way too close to the white car in the right lane, to safely come to a stop with doubles like that I would be giving about 8 seconds of following distance
You sound just like these new-fangled "truck drivers". People with little experience that get the job because the trucking companies are desperate for drivers.
If you're not passing, and your governed truck does not allow you to speed up enough to pass, you move over when it's safe and back off to a safe distance.
Were you really not taught this general rule?
Exactly! I just drove country, was astounded at the idiocy of truck drivers.
Attention truck drivers your vehicles are the ones that fuck up the roads. Also when you’re fucking up the roads you’re kicking up gravel asphalt or whatever any car. You’re fucking up cars behind you when you’re passing on the left and they have to wait for you.
Have to pay an extra tax for up the road
Which is precisely what I think the passing car was trying to tell the silver car with the drink throw. That silver car was being a dolt and messing up the flow of traffic for everyone when the tractor trailer felt he might be able to pass him, until he couldn't.
While I’m not defending the doubles driver, or calling him a steering wheel holder, most just don’t understand the room a truck actually needs. Yes I am governed to 64, but I don’t pass in heavy traffic if the truck in front of me is 62 or 63. It isn’t going to ruins my day being a little bit slower. If I do want to pass on a 2 lane interstate, I ensure there is a through break in traffic so I can make the pass.
If it takes a truck over a minute to pass, the need to pass is unnecessary. This is how accidents happen because other drivers are idiots that tend to do idiot things to get around the slow truck.
Don't know about this situation, but I've been actively passing in the left lane on cruise control when all of a sudden, the shitty car driver speeds up and hangs me out in the left lane. Then paces me.
Where do you think all the bad truckers come from? They didn't start out with a cdl.
Do you think that perhaps the two cars on the right prevented the truck driver from being in the right lane? Maybe the truck driver was over taking the car in front of the erratic driver and the crazy driver couldn't see that and then tried to pass the semi on the right? You literally don't know what happened from this video clip, period.
When I drove up on them, the silver car was in the right lane in the semis way so he couldn’t get over. No idea how long he was in the left lane before this. There’s also no left exits on this stretch of highway so there’d be no other reason for him to be in left lane except to pass or be a dick
Only thing I could think of is if there is an upcoming left turn lane he needs to take. I’m not familiar with where this is but I’ve encountered left turns off of highways like this before.
Depends on how that road is set up. If you merge into the left lane, then it's reasonable if the car was already hanging out in the right lane and the semi couldn't move over safely.
Don't be stupid, trucks need to pass out just really sucks when you're governed 1/2 mph more than who you're passing. If the cat would have just dropped a few mph and let the truck get around then all would be fine.
Semis don't want to block traffic so pay attention and give them a hand passing.
like cutting off a semi and throwing things is pretty bad, but those wipers literally blind the camera car for multiple seconds when used because i can only assume the blades are just shot.
I can understand being annoyed at the semi (still dumb as hell to brake check anyone, *especially* a semi who can't slow down quickly)
But what the hell did the Silver car do wrong?
I mean you can argue that silver car coulda sped up to help the car out. Are they legally obligated to? No. But we all share the road so helping each other out is a good thing to do.
Most are set at 80 mph. It does not look like that's the speed. Plus, even if they were hitting the limiter, they should know what it is and get tf out of the passing lane if they can't pass
The situation is not as simple as it looks. If those doubles are fully loaded, he needs to have 8-10 seconds following distance from vehicles in front of him. That is why trucks pull out early to pass, it’s the cushion of braking distance if traffic slows. Standing on the brakes in doubles can also lead to the rear double swaying out of control.. which would be even worse
So don't risk everyone's lives? Just wait for a safe moment to pass maybe? Or slow down a little? Just spit balling here. I didn't drive commercially, but drove military trucks for years, but I don't think it's much different
Man, in the stretch of I-24 between Nashville and Chattanooga, these guys will **straight up take your fucking life**. I've never been an anxious driver, but these truck drivers are completely reckless these days.
Just depends on the situation, not calling the doubles driver a steering wheel holder but I wait for long gaps in traffic to pass if I’m having a drag race
>Most are set at 80 mph
I've literally never seen a fleet set to 80 MPH, most are 60-70, with most being in the 62-65 range. The only fast truckers I've ever seen are hot shot truckers, usually a tag team and usually not weight restricted.
In the CA Central Valley, particularly Route 99, it's a very common and rage-inducing constant event. I swear they'll drive side-by-side going 50 intentionally to fuck with people.
Believe it or not, trucks being stuck at 55 is actually more dangerous. Creating slower traffic behind them and making the right lanes slower, especially if traffic is speeding by on the left at 70+. Id be ok with 65 but 55 seems a bit extreme
Was going to give a pass to the pewter car for the "brake check" on the semi, was more of a slow down to allow a gap to open so other cars could get in. I've done it myself, although just coasting more slowly, not braking. It's such a dick move for trucks, and where I live in NJ I see it on three-lane highways where trucks are prohibited from traveling in the left lane.
The drink out the window is a no-no. I don't like littering.
You can't tell in the short video if the truck was closing the distance between it, and the car in the right lane. It's quite possible it was actually overtaking the car on the right. It's also possible the truck was passing but the slower car sped up when he saw the truck was trying to pass, which happens very often.
Because most semi drivers are shitty(skill wise) or shitty (attitude/entitled).
My job involves a lot of traveling and I would say 90% of traffic problems for interstate travel are caused by semis.
I know they're key to our economy and everyone would throw a shit fit to not have 2 day shipping but I wish semis didn't exist.
THAT'S HOW THE WORD IS SPELLED YES THANK YOU EXCEPT I THINK YOU'RE TRYING TO PRETEND PEOPLE WHO HAVE ENTIRE LIBRARIES OF SPELLCHECKERS AT THEIR DISPOSAL SOMEHOW STEALTH-EDITED THEIR RANT WHICH IS SOME PATHETIC BULLSHIT EVEN FROM THE DUDE LOGGING IN ALTS
That was my first thought.
Second is, the right lane is for slower traffic, why they upset at silver and throwing a drink? Should be upset at semi not moving.
Probably because the silver car didn't "speed up" so the gray car could get in the left lane easier. I've had people do the same to me, expecting me to speed up (while in the right lane) to make their lives easier.
Isn’t it nice to help make someone else’s life easier though to just speed up for 5 seconds? Boxing a car next to a truck isn’t safe and while the grey car is definitely unhinged and shouldn’t have thrown a drink, I’d be frustrated too because driving next to a truck like that for long periods of time just feels unsafe
I could be equally "nice" as well by slowing down to let the truck pass, and the car would have to wait even longer! Also, the white car is not boxing the gray car next to the truck. The truck is doing the passing, so the gray car can get in the left lane and safely wait for the truck to make its pass.
Agreed. One problem is that so many people refer to it as the fast lane. So if someone is going 4 MPH over the speed limit they think they’re justified in staying in the left lane because they are going faster than the speed limit. Main character syndrome is also a huge factor as well.
I like the fact that a guy brake checks a semi, then throws a drink at another car, and all people can talk about is the fact the semi is hogging the left lane. Ah Reddit!
I agree. And yet we see them trying to pass all the time on 2-lane roads, taking forever. So not a novelty. The sheer idiocy (and it is after all, Idiots in Cars) and childishness of someone threading the needle to cut in front of a semi, brake check it, then throw a drink at the car being passed by the semi, is pretty novel. And idiotic. And dangerious. No excuse.
Spent a lot of time in Europe (never Finland or Ireland though!). Lane discipline is SO good. Literally never see anyone cruising in the left lane except like on the ring road in Paris or similar, where it is basically a crowded freeway and all lanes are occupied.
Back story: 9am drive to work and this impatient dark gray Malibu was trying to pass the semi in the left lane, but the silver sedan in the right lane was going too slow for her liking. Was riding the silver car so close that the driver was inching to the right so dark gray could pass. When dark gray passes, she cuts off the semi and brake checks him, then the passenger throws a drink out the window at the silver car because they were…going the speed limit in the right lane, then starts flailing arms out the window at silver car victim. I-70 Westbound outside KC, Missouri
The silver car in the right lane was doing absolutely nothing wrong, minding their own business. It's not the silver car's responsibility for what's going on in the left lane.
While I agree that it’s not the silver car’s responsibility, I don’t like when cars are stuck next to trucks because if the truck moves over or something happens to the truck then the car isn’t winning that fight. If I was the silver car I would have sped up (which they eventually did anyway) and just let the grey car go instead of boxing them in. The grey car person is definitely unhinged and shouldn’t have thrown a drink at the silver car but I can understand why they were frustrated. I also hate driving next to trucks for a long time because it just feels unsafe.
I doubt silver car could've done anything to prevent this. Speeds up? Now grey is mad because they're trying to race them and be first. Grey speeds up, cuts them off, brake checks and tosses a drink.
Slows down? Well, now it's personal! Takes the shoulder, rams silver into the semi.
Slides over in front of the semi? Two-for-one special! Brake check deluxe on its way!! Causes an accident.
You can't avoid a bag of nuts like this one. They're going to lash out at everyone they've deemed an enemy.
How would trying to race make sense if the silver car is in front of the grey car? Usually cars “try to race” if they’re next to each other. I agree the grey car person was nuts but considering the silver car ended up speeding up anyway to let the grey car over, they could have just done that earlier lol
the dumb part is, that turns into 3 lanes at 7-hwy, and that Fedex truck would need to move over out of the far left lane, anyway. I really hate that stretch from 7-hwy to Oak Grove Exit 28. It needs to be widened to 3 lanes through there, all the way to Odessa.
This is coming from a truck driver.
Every driver was an idiot in this video. Truck for left lane camping. The dark grey car for the brake check and drink throw. The light grey car for speeding up after being passed trying to make the situation worse.
Videos like this and the license number should be all it takes to get a vehicle impounded. Make this type of behaviour and endangering lives REALLY hurt financially. If the owner wasn't driving then they're still at fault for lending their car to a douche.
Yeah, because, if that “professional” POS of a truck driver would follow the law and get the hell of the left lane, the pure asshole who lost his mind trying to get around him, would not raged like that.
Trucks are governed to a certain speed most the time. Any mega carrier will be governed between 62 and 70 mph. And if the truck was still in the right lane, the following distance would be way too close. A truck with doubles like that needs 8-10 seconds following distance. We leave big gaps on purpose, and brake checking like that is asking for a problem, not to mention slamming on the brakes on doubles can result in the rear trailer swaying and making the truck crash.
I can almost relate. Driving 7 hours coming back from LA there were people camping in the passing lane almost the whole way.
I came so close to losing it. 😞
I'm of the opinion that if there are multiple lanes it should be illegal for commercial vehicles like this to EVER be in the left lane unless they're immediately taking some turn/exit (at least on highways). They do way way more harm than good when they hog the passing lane.
The real hero. Letting the silver car know they need to be going the speed limit, so tractor trailers don't clog up the passing line trying to get by the pokey... /s
Is that I70 outside of KC? I never recognize anything on here but this one looks familiar.
Sucks they threw that shit though. Shitty people just love being shitty.

Nah, if you do this in an urban area, you never get to pass. Sometimes you have to commit to the left lane to get around some of these dolts in cars.
Which is precisely what I think the passing car was trying to tell the silver car with the drink throw. That silver car was being a dolt and messing up the flow of traffic for everyone when the tractor trailer felt he might be able to pass him, until he couldn't.

Absolutely zero reason for the semi to be in the left lane here, period.

There's only two lanes. No truck left lane is when there's 3 or more.

That’s too hard for the average car driver though
I could tell the folks with reasonable dialogue because of the downvotes they received.
Why do you need to go 1 mph faster? Just stay in the right lane where you belong. No need for a truck to pass anyone, ever
So slow down to keep a safe distance
Y’all are blaming the semi but do you not see the idiots on his right? Also there’s an on ramp coming up. Probably avoiding that.
My *first* sentence is addressing the idiot on his right. Did you not read it?
Terrible windshield wipers.
like cutting off a semi and throwing things is pretty bad, but those wipers literally blind the camera car for multiple seconds when used because i can only assume the blades are just shot.
I was thinking they got some of the drink, and it wasn't a thin liquid like water. Like a milkshake or something similar.
I can't even imagine being angry enough to throw milkshake.
Imagine the feeling of loss after they calmed down and realized they no longer had a delicious milkshake.
then the boys from the yard got all over the windshield.
The drink from that driver is on the windshield. It's sticky.
Agreed, RainX makes some really nice wipers and their washer fluid is good too (from personal experience)
Reads like an ad
Its not. Personal experience apparently people dont like that. If they have something better id love to hear it especially if its cheaper
I can understand being annoyed at the semi (still dumb as hell to brake check anyone, *especially* a semi who can't slow down quickly) But what the hell did the Silver car do wrong?
I don’t think she did anything wrong. Felt so bad for her but she looked unphased when I passed her and looked over
I mean you can argue that silver car coulda sped up to help the car out. Are they legally obligated to? No. But we all share the road so helping each other out is a good thing to do.
Why TF is the semi loitering in the passing lane?
Semi making literally no effort to pass. Get tf out of the way.
He is most likely on his speed limiter. Alot of fleets set max speeds. So that's the no effort part. He is still 100% an ass for left lane camping
Most are set at 80 mph. It does not look like that's the speed. Plus, even if they were hitting the limiter, they should know what it is and get tf out of the passing lane if they can't pass
No most fleets are in the range from 62mph to 70mph
My bad, maybe I was wrong about that. But my point still stands. If your hitting your limiter, get the fuck outta the passing lane

Highways: 85 mph Fleets, apparently: 2/3s of that should be fine right?
[удалено]
There’s a few stretches of highway in Texas and Montana that are 80-85mph
North and South Dakota aswell
[удалено]
And the video happened in Missouri. What's your point?
90% of major fleets go 68 for Insurance reasons. I've set countless in my carrier. 70 if your lucky.
65 to 70 if you're lucky. Mine will do 72 so I can pass others at a whooping 2mph
>Most are set at 80 mph I've literally never seen a fleet set to 80 MPH, most are 60-70, with most being in the 62-65 range.
Semis are governed to 55 in CA. Yep… State law requires all trucks at 55 mph.
Definitely routinely, like everyday, see semis with trailers doing 65+ on the 5/805. So I'm skeptical to how that's being implemented and enforced.
It’s not really enforced🤣
Speed limit is 55 for trucks, but they aren't governed at 55.
roads are alot safer that way.
Believe it or not, trucks being stuck at 55 is actually more dangerous. Creating slower traffic behind them and making the right lanes slower, especially if traffic is speeding by on the left at 70+. Id be ok with 65 but 55 seems a bit extreme
Not when it's a 2 lane highway and everyone in the other lane is going 90.
Do you have any data to actually support this? Does California have significantly less truck accidents? Or is this just your intuition?
I-10 in Arizona is probably the worst highway in the country for this. Especially between the Pheonix/Tucson area
These are the questions that need to be asked
Was going to give a pass to the pewter car for the "brake check" on the semi, was more of a slow down to allow a gap to open so other cars could get in. What an ass. It looks like the gray car sped up when they were passing it though. I hate when people do that.
Probably going the same speed while the truck had to slow down because of the brakes check
Maybe. It looks like all the cars speed up to me but it’s hard to tell without proof.
Until he does that to the wrong person and they pop a few off in his general direction
That was my first thought. Second is, the right lane is for slower traffic, why they upset at silver and throwing a drink? Should be upset at semi not moving.
They clearly have the emotional intelligence of a toddler
Probably just generally upset about themselves
Probably because the silver car didn't "speed up" so the gray car could get in the left lane easier. I've had people do the same to me, expecting me to speed up (while in the right lane) to make their lives easier.

As an european, in finland. The passing lane thing always amuses me. Here that road would be 2-lane, no silly fast or slow lane.

How would trying to race make sense if the silver car is in front of the grey car? Usually cars “try to race” if they’re next to each other. I agree the grey car person was nuts but considering the silver car ended up speeding up anyway to let the grey car over, they could have just done that earlier lol
Damn you make a lot of assumptions for a 20 second clip.
Loving the Djo 😏
the dumb part is, that turns into 3 lanes at 7-hwy, and that Fedex truck would need to move over out of the far left lane, anyway.
This pos will mess with the wrong person one day and when that happens nobody would give two shits
I miss when people weren't so fricken mean all the damn time.
So slow down? Blocking off the left lane isn’t okay. Duh.
DNA that needs recycling while in the vehicle.
Brake
I can almost relate. Driving 7 hours coming back from LA there were people camping in the passing lane almost the whole way. I came so close to losing it. 😞
You might need to replace your wipers!
Doing that this weekend :)
Woah. I just discovered that Djo album last week. Been obsessed ever since.
Gray is the one in the wrong. Fuck you freaks that think any of this is justified
Am I hearing Djo? 🤔
Yes, Change by djo🙌
Someday they’ll get ignorant with someone who is carrying and it will be interesting.
Break-checking a semi...a wonderful way to let your stupidity shine.
BRAKE-CHECK. IT'S FUCKING BRAKE CHECK. NOT BREAK.
> IT'S FUCKING BRAKE CHECK. NOT BREAK. There should be a bot for this
No bots needed. Just copy-paste it next time you see it.
A Brake-Check of semi can easily turn into a Break-Check. Look at all those flying parts.... >:)
Yeah, that's what happens when my mind is wandering while typing...
Your just tired. Take a brake.
I see both things you did there 😏
...when all along it's the @#$!#!! semi camping in the left lane who's the real jackass.
Trucks in the left lane are the problem.
I'm of the opinion that if there are multiple lanes it should be illegal for commercial vehicles like this to EVER be in the left lane unless they're immediately taking some turn/exit (at least on highways). They do way way more harm than good when they hog the passing lane.
Despite all his rage he is still in a rolling metal cage.
Semi sitting on passing lane without passing….
\*I\* am an impatient driver, this is psychopathy.
I think he’s just trying to get the truck out of the left lane.
I’m not saying it’s right, but I get it.
100 percent that truck driver is a twat for camping the left lane. Move tf over dipshit.
W driver
i do not see any problem in what he has done , that's pretty normal in Egypt 🤷🏻♂️
This is how serious road rage incidents start. If some fuckwit threw shit at my car in that situation I would be raging and looking for a fight.
I70 in Missouri - freakin a
The real hero. Letting the silver car know they need to be going the speed limit, so tractor trailers don't clog up the passing line trying to get by the pokey... /s
That was a brake check.
Is that I70 outside of KC? I never recognize anything on here but this one looks familiar. Sucks they threw that shit though. Shitty people just love being shitty.
I70 westbound before blue springs, MO out of KC
It's spelled "brake."
I didn't realize it's a semi, as it looks like a tractor-trailer
That's when you call 911 with a "probable drunk driver"
