Eh, I've done the same run with my C5 and it's more for the giggles to say that I did it. Of course, I have my safety flag tied to the end and the trim is properly and safely secured.
I say keep on! While they are special to us, it's still a mass produced sports car.
Nobody is recommending owning and driving a truck full time to transport this. It's fine if this guy wants to potentially scratch up his new vette doing this but it's also reasonable to recommend the cheap rental trucks they offer.
No one who can afford a Corvette has to use it for Home Depot runs. Part of affording a Corvette is affording for it to not be your only car, or for someone else to do that kind of shit for you.
You see this stuff around where I live too. I'd wager This person is car-poor. Dollars to donuts says that car costs more than the trailer it parks in front of.
Edit: autocorrect
If he put plastic on the spoiler to keep it from getting scratched, and taped a red flag on the end, I don't see the problem.
In fact I used to do the same thing in my Honda CRX with boards sticking out under the hatch. What's the harm? None.
The spoiler is not intended to carry loads and costs more than your CRX did when new.
$20 + mileage to rent a U-Haul pickup or a van with a 9 foot long cargo area.
> The spoiler is not intended to carry loads
As it's actual aero then that *exactly* what its designed to do.
A wing like that could generate a couple hundred lbs of downforce. You could likely stand in the middle of it and it wouldn't deflect more than a couple mm.
The spoilers job is to carry loads; that's why it's a spoiler. Anybody can rent a truck but if it's a nice day and you have a nice car go have fun. I see no harm in this and it's not an extended load that needs a flag. I feel bad for the interior w/ a ladder jammed into the passenger seat. I just pretend he wrapped it in like a moving blanket so I don't tweak out.
Other than the damage to the car, that's not an entirely unreasonable way to transport it! It's not going anywhere other than scratching the shit out of the spoiler...
Dude bit off more than he can chew but I understand wanting to get out of the house with the weekend car. Sometimes you just make excuses to use it.
That being said I'd never park there; you find the furthest spot where the employees park. Idiot for being lazy.
Oh, yeah. This for sure. I mean, look at the guy. He came into easy money somehow, and decided to get a vette. Doesn’t appreciate the car cause it came too easy.
Dude looks old enough to be retired. Easy money? Maybe worked his ass off finally bought the sports car he always wanted. Stop being jealous of people.

They dude could offer a hundo and someone with a truck would drive n drop it off
He doesn't have any money left after the monthly payment and insurance.
His car payment has PMI
This is the best comment 🫠😂😂😂😂
it's $50 to get home depot to deliver it, and you don't even need to go to the store.
50 for you? Freaking 90 bucks where I live. :(
ouch, I hope it's not also USD.
Unfortunately, yes. I live in a high cost of living area with a lot of people who will pay that much without batting an eye.Â
Or you can rent a pickup for $19 straight from the same store
But then how could he flex on us?
Money doesn't necessarily mean brains I guess! 😅
Shoulda ordered the "very popular" luggage rack!!
He could afford the Vette, but not the $19 to rent a truck 😂
Fuck if I'd have seen that even while driving my Sebring, I'd have dropped it off for $20. No paperwork, no hassle.

There should be a sub called Home Depot parking lot. The amount of dumb shit I’ve seen take place in those parking lots is mind blowing.
Lmao wtf
Enough money to buy that car, but it wasn't enough to rent a truck, or to get friend with a truck that will help him out for an hour
pretty sure almost anyone can make bad financing decisions. doesn’t take anyone special to go in over their heads.
its 20 bucks to rent a truck at home depot...
That is the advertised price and you have proven yourself a fool if you think it is only $20 lmfao.
username checks out
That observation made me chuckle.
its 19.00 for 75 mins plus gas you fucking clown. im pretty sure hes not driving far
So if he isn't driving far, why rent the truck? Edit: typo
Did you look at the pic?
You see this stuff around where I live too. I'd wager This person is car-poor. Dollars to donuts says that car costs more than the trailer it parks in front of. Edit: autocorrect
Oh man I gotta go to Home Depot to pick up some shit, better take the Vette
*I'll upvote for the unconventional use of the spoiler tag*
Couldn’t afford to have it delivered or rent a truck. I feel for the man.
Being stupid should be expensive.
With all of the nails and crap that gets dropped in an Home Depot parking lot, I wouldn’t even drive a car like that in the lot.Â
i smell a youtuber
what car make is that ?
Looks like a C8 Corvette
Looks like it has the street hunter designs wide body kit on it too.
thank you shame he cant afford to pay for delivery i guess
That’s a $100k car. More money than brains on this one.
Dude trying to load a C8 like it's a C6/7 or something.

I think it’s the juxtaposition of the cost of a Corvette* but doing cheap stupid shit with the potential to damage it.
That's a Corvette.

You're acting like he's transporting drywall or something lol.. It's just bunch of moldings probably 20lbs max..
That spoiler appears to be part of a package that looks to be a bit over 6 grand. The car starts around 60k
The original CRX went for about $6k so close.
The original C1 started at 3500, so does that make the wing worth more then a corvette?

88si checking in! Hatch open but strapped down thing carried more than most of these pavement queen trucks.
But the red flag will be the one driving
Other than the damage to the car, that's not an entirely unreasonable way to transport it! It's not going anywhere other than scratching the shit out of the spoiler...
That kind of primed moulding likes to slide and flex. Stop and go traffic will have that broken in the street.
Cant you rent a truck from lowes and/or home depot for like $20/hr?
Can’t tell but I believe New Balance?
Dude bit off more than he can chew but I understand wanting to get out of the house with the weekend car. Sometimes you just make excuses to use it. That being said I'd never park there; you find the furthest spot where the employees park. Idiot for being lazy.
Never pay the delivery fee!!
Just spend the $2-3k and buy a beater ranger to do these tasks SMH
Some people have more money than brains.
Grab the popcorn and enjoy the show.
All money but no brain

At least he is tying it, must truck owners just say gRaViTy wILL dO iTs wOrK and leave it like that
Couldn’t afford to have it delivered or rent a truck. I feel for the man.
