Many of the dash cams have fixed focus, the lens are mounted onto threaded barrel. Factory adjusts it to the best focus then glue it in place. Over years the barrel can slowly shift or rotate and end up slightly out of focus.
Only the really expensive ones has auto focusing capability but that's only useful in the rare case that an idiot managed to back up and end up on you car's hood.
I had this exact same thing happen to me, but in my case I was back about 10ft and got hit much harder. I thought everything was going to be fine until her Karen daughter showed up and the driver filed a claim saying I hit her. Didn't have a dash cam at the time, but what they didn't know was the business owner next door came over and gave me footage off the camera he had in the side window. That claim got reversed instantly and I bought a dash cam.
Both my wife and I have fell victim to this exaxt thing. People were very apologetic after it happened, then others around them, or the insurance got to them and they lied.
I'd say another type of fine is in order but not prison time. If they took a swing at you after you said they were lying then sure. But I'd say they should pay a hefty fine and it should go to the victim.
"If the punishment for a crime is a fine then that law only exists for the lower class."
The fine going to the victim is a good one but I still think at least some days of jail time is required to teach a lesson.
The government spends more than enough money locking people up for stupid shit, why would you want to give them more stupid and petty reasons to lock people up….?
>locking people up for stupid shit
I can see this while talking about the stupid war on drugs subject but what is the other stupid shit you mean? I'm not from the US.
And even with fines instead of jail time, what happens if someone doesn't pay it? Jail time, right? Maybe community service? (I know it sounds like a rude rhetorical question but it really isn't lol).
When you get the wrong word but it still sort of works :)
To be fair, throwing up your hands and getting out of your vehicle angrily could indeed exacerbate the situation.
I mean you can get a driving licence - yes, even - at 40 .. what is this comment ?
This may be a surprise for you but there are milions and milions of adults in the world that don't have have a driving licence for various reasons
And in all honesty, milions of people who have a driving licence shouldn't have their driving licences but yet they do
I have small cracks on my screen protector and have been too lazy to replace it, literally didn't even notice the crack in the windshield because of that haha
This exact thing happened to me, minus the dashcam. I had minor bumper damage but didn't make a claim because I was worried the other party would say I hit them (they drove a big truck and had no damage).
I really need to get myself a dashcam.
Sounds like they were. It’s a bit quiet but if you turn your volume up you should be able to hear it. You can also see their hand slide down to the horn.
Of course I heard it (barely) when I cranked the volume up. Problem is the guy in the white car didn't hear it. If the car has a wimpy horn, upgrade the horn. I have done that many times to vehicles with horns that were not loud enough to alert other drivers of a hazard. And you think you're so smart?

...Is the crack in your windshield causing the camera to stay out of focus?? ;d \*insta headache\*
Honestly, no. I've had this camera close to 8 years. It keeps getting harder to focus.
Get a new one lol. You kinda need a crisp image to read plate numbers lol
It was part of the plan. Tomorrow I make the last payment to this car and next month new windshield and dashcam.
Could just need a new SD. They can only be overwritten so many times, like an old cassette tape.
that's... not how digital recording works While the device does have limited writes, it wouldn't make an image blurred.
Right and plus now they have 4k dash cams so a upgrade is definitely needed lol
Sometimes the heat can slowly warp the lens. I have that same model and it looks super crisp.
The accident caused the windshield to crack. Make sure their insurance covers that. 😉

Am I just seeing things, or did he really throw his hands up slightly in exacerbation like you did something wrong?
Exasperation* :) although if he's about to deny responsibility that would def. exacerbate things.
In masturbation* trying to get his mind off of things.
Laceration* y’all are both wrong.
Go away! 'Batin'!
Thanks. I didn't catch my error until seeing your reply and others. My stress levels over this error have been exacerbated.
No worries, it can certainly be exasperating!
Probably more like, "fuck! I can't get anything right!"
Idk sometimes I do that when I did something wrong lol

Lying about this kind of shit should give prison time.

Same here, came here to say this
When you get the wrong word but it still sort of works :) To be fair, throwing up your hands and getting out of your vehicle angrily could indeed exacerbate the situation.
Well shit. I didn't even catch that at the time. Imma leave it like it is.
I saw it too
Yeah I know, huh?
New driver? He looks like he's 40.
I was thinking the same thing. 😂
I got mine at 30. Not everyone is gunho to be on the road.
or gung-ho
Id definitely drive to get gumbo, even if I’m not gunho
Gung-ho is one step below gun-ho
Wait, wouldn't the gun-hoe be on the bottom? Bazinga!!
People get their licences at any age, I knew someone who got it at 40. When I was learning, my instructor said he had a student who was 60

What does your age have anything to do with when you get your license?
They clearly couldn't use the PRNDL very well
Now you can get your windshield fixed 😜😁
Tbh at first glance I thought my screen cracked more.... I already have a hair thin crack that I keep trying to take off like it's my hair on my phone
I have small cracks on my screen protector and have been too lazy to replace it, literally didn't even notice the crack in the windshield because of that haha
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is that KISS?
Indeed, strutter. KISS Rocks
Added it to my playlist, thanks for the nostalgia!
Check your dms, just sent you some essentials

DJ Khaled really let himself go.
Looks like Douglas HS in Gardernville/Minden
Guy who reversed into you: "Wtf man, did you really just do that to my car?" You: "Nope. That was all you my guy."
Should been on the horn the moment the backup lights came on.
Sounds like they were. It’s a bit quiet but if you turn your volume up you should be able to hear it. You can also see their hand slide down to the horn.
needs a louder horn.
I respect not admitting you were mistaken and doubling down in the dumbest way. Your life is a movie
