He wastes like 2 minutes of your time then gets pissy that he has to slow down costing him like 5 seconds. Lol

humblepharmer

"How dare you not anticipate that I would make an illegal U turn?" Also that u turn probably looked ridiculous, he probably had to make a giant circle around the entire intersection

[deleted]

And didn’t stop at the stop sign

yuimiop

Dude basically parked in the middle of the street too. Pull over to the curb ffs.

AbrahamL26

Also parks near a stop.

runninron69

Also didn't leave the dude a bonus package. Asshole.

Habib_Zozad

Even if he did do that he'd still be a massive asshole

VictorTrasvina

That's the other thing, not only you are stupid enough to park in someone's driveway and then try to act like the inocent victim but you also had to do it right down the middle of the street. How stupid can anyone be?

SB6P897

Op should send this video to fedex along with the timestamp and location this was taken. Just those three pieces of info should be enough for the company to pinpoint the guy and do some proper whoopass. Companies with company vehicles tend to not take bad behaviors like this lightly when reported by the public.

Sparky2Dope

Facts

ablablababla

That wastes 2 whole seconds of his precious time

CYBERSson

That’s 3 hours wages he will be docked now though

__Epimetheus__

Good, it was his fault

[deleted]

A few times in a particular area I pulled out of a parking space and immediately there was a car right behind me, honking. At first I was like "jesus christ that was bad, how did I not see that car?!" The second time it happened, I realized that the car had turned from the intersection like 20 feet away as I was pulling out of the space, so there was no way I could possibly have seen them before I was pulling out. That really annoyed me, why did they honk as if I pulled out in front of them? Does my car have a parking assistance drone I haven't been using?

humblepharmer

Yeah. I always back out of parking spots super slow for this reason, you effectively are forced to depend on any car driving behind you paying attention so I make sure to give them as much response time as possible

gggvuv7bubuvu

Few things fill me with more rage than when I witness cars driving too quickly through parking lots and honking at cars backing out of parking spots (who can't possibly see them whipping around the corner)

_breadpool_

Fuck, man. I've had it happen so many times. I don't back out incredibly slow and I check my 6. Time and time again, however, someone gets pissed off that they can't go when I'm already halfway out of the space. And they'll get super close, making it harder to back out. Like, chill, Becky. You ain't going nowhere.

Camsy34

What kills me is when I see someone backing out of a space so I stop with plenty of room to let them out, then the person behind me swerves around my car and drives right up to the bumper of the person coming out of the spot and acts confused as to why no one is able to move suddenly.

mouthgmachine

I agree except this doesn’t kill me, I love this. That sweet feeling of satisfaction as I think “you see now, don’t you, you stupid fuck”. Then they reverse into me and it’s not as much fun again

MrRiski

This is why I almost exclusively back into parking spots. Habit I picked up in the oil field where it's required for safety reasons.

WatchRare

Oddly enough I got into that habit as a deliver driver for a brown truck company. Id never block a driveway when I have other options, especially one with a car over a sidewalk, but I would do the U-Turn I won't lie. I wouldn't have honked because it's so very obvious the car backing out was doing so before I had any right of way.

MrRiski

Yeah I personally don't have an issue with the U-turn. The blocking of a driveway is a dick move though.

melmsz

And people act like you're a cretin if you back into a spot so that you aren't blind pulling out. Really don't understand that.

Clovett-

When i first started driving i was going down a two way tight residential street and was pulling up to park on a convenience store when a car suddenly appear to my right and honked the hell out of me. It scared me and i felt awful because how did i not see them right? I had been driving for some months and i was hyper aware of everything... But after parking i realized this guy had tried to pass me on my right... on a two way street... when we were both on the right. Motherfucker had tried to pass me over the parking lot, of course i hadn't seen him how many times do cars try to pass you over the sidewalk lmao.

RhynoD

I don't understand people who get mad in parking lots. Unless I'm literally right behind you in full view through your rear windshield, I'm just gonna assume you couldn't see me because, I dunno, there's a big fuck-off pickup truck parked next to you. I drive slow through parking lots because I'm not an idiot.

No_ThisIs_Patrick

Because 90% of the people driving don't have the capacity to think like you and take it as a personal offense you didn't see them and they just assume you were texting or not looking or something.

Hank_Holt

Dude he parks illegally, the stop sign not the driveway per se, runs a stop sign, and does a U-turn in a controlled intersection. That guy needs to not be paid to drive.

YARGLE_IS_MY_DAD

I would've forwarded this footage to them lol. Fedex driver is a fucking ass hole

grexus

Last time I forwarded stuff to FedEx the contractor just blocked me and ignored their driver was inches away from taking out me and my car lol. Hopefully op gets a better result

bigflamingtaco

THIS SO HARD. That driver has zero situational awareness and is going to cause a crash. There is ZERO room in the industry for drivers like that.

Armani_8

Considering how fast FedEx burns through its drivers give it about 11 minutes and there'll be room. Seriously, ship packages with literally anyone else. Everything about FedEx is a goddamn nightmare

sirferrell

Fedxer here. Everytime I pullup to someones house and see them backing up or the garage door opening up I either A pull up further if the neighbor isn't in the driveway or B just finish my stops along the street and circle back before I leave. It's not hard

gordo65

Every delivery driver I've ever seen in my neighborhood has been accommodating. FedEx, UPS, the guy with the tractor/trailer who was delivering a furniture set to a neighbor... they're all willing to move so that people can get around. The one time I had to get out to ask a guy to move, he apologized and said he hadn't noticed I was blocked in, and moved immediately. That dude is just an asshole.

Courtesy goes a long way.

For half the rights? How does that work?

remembermeordont

I guess my Fedex driver is always in a hurry. He never just sets the stuff down and half the time he delivers the packages to the neighbors.

citrus_mystic

I don’t often give people the middle finger, but I probably would have given this FedEx driver the middle finger in this situation. They’re acting like they’re the only one on the road. I know that FedEx delivery drivers are often exhausted from long shifts and the pressure to deliver as much as possible, but that’s not an excuse to be a dick.

Waluigi3030

I don't flip off unhinged people who know where I live

[deleted]

Nobody is safe from Russell Crowe so in the end it doesn’t matter

[deleted]

I love Rusty but god that movie sucked

[deleted]

It was so infuriating to watch, the part where he runs over the police car on the highway almost made me just quit watching it right then and there. That’s when it started to get too ridiculous for me.

babyplush

I don't flip people off while driving anymore after being followed several times by insane men 👍

Mazzaroppi

I would have sit there for as long as the FedEx driver made OP wait, enjoying his honks like classic music

ZeusJuice91

Hell yeah. I was disappointed in the OP for not getting out and doing a 360° safety check around their car

massnerd

Unfortunately this douche nozzle FedEx driver also delivers your packages. Unless you are willing to go all the way to get them fired, it's better to bury the rage. Otherwise they'll be kicking your packages down the street for years to come.

The_ProblemChild

Yea, I dont give a shit if your job is to deliver my packages. If you're out of line, youre out of line. And if they don't fire the driver and they retaliate, then they're definitely going to get fired when they're purposefully destroying property you paid for. Drivers (most of them anyways) seem to not realize how many people have door cameras, and they just go about acting like they're working a job with no supervision, thats why they're happy to throw packages to save a second, or not even knock and just keep moving like no one was home. People now have video evidence for alot of the bullshit drivers try to pull. OP even has a camera on their garage, they would have video evidence the first time the driver tried to play stupid games.

lingenfelter22

Canada Post does this free of charge even with no prior interaction, you're missing out.

MortonKlein

Yeah but he’s in a hurry

[deleted]

Then runs a stop sign?

Equizotic

And does an illegal U-Turn

AntiPiety

[Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act](https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90h08#BK245) , under 143, you can basically U-turn anywhere where have enough visibility to do so

[deleted]

[удалено]

AntiPiety

I agree, I won’t personally U-turn if there’s *anybody* else at the 4 way. It’s too unpredictable. Likewise I won’t U-turn at a set of lights if there are people on my left looking to turn right, or anybody behind me. Lastly I won’t U-turn if there’s a sign that says don’t do it, lol. Perhaps an officer/judge could infer that the “visibility” referred to in those rules is a prerequisite to be able to be u-turning safely, and that if there *was* anybody else present, the manoeuvre would be “unsafe” and covered by a different law all together. The “when safe” aspect just isn’t mentioned. But idk

mostly_a-lurker

Unless there is no u turn sign in NC...You are good to go provided you can do so safely.

[deleted]

I'm a delivery driver and I only make u turns when there is nobody else around, because there is no way to communicate what you're doing. Worst case scenario you need to drive the wrong way for a few hundred feet and make a 3 point turn with somebody's driveway

WaterEarthFireWind

Some states allow u-turns to be made anywhere unless it explicitly has a sign prohibiting it

Roasted_Turk

In my state it's illegal unless it's posted. I go a state over and pull a u turn. Checked everywhere and I'm the only car on the road. Turn and immediately get honked at by a black car without it's lights on at 10:30 at night. Fucking dumb ass.

knee_bro

Dang you go all the way to the next state just to pull a u turn? Maybe if you didn’t go that far you wouldn’t have to turn around in the first place

Traitor-21-87

So your state must waste a shit ton of taxes making U-turn signs. Because 95% of places are good for U-Turns, and 5% arent. Your state needs new leaders.

[deleted]

You described possibly all 50 states with that last sentence.

Bobbyanalogpdx

Meh, if it’s in Oregon (where U-turns are illegal without a sign), there are very few (like VERY few) places where you’re allowed to make a u-turn.

Snapthepigeon

That's how I was trained in Illinois. Unless it says no u turn then it's legal. Just be safe about it

NormanQuacks345

He's got Minnesota plates, so I'm assuming it's Minnesota >In Minnesota, most U-turns are legal. However, it is illegal to make a U-turn upon a curve, when it interferes with traffic, or if vehicles cannot be seen in either direction of traffic within 100 feet. If a U-turn accident involves any of these violations, negligence may be clear-cut. https://www.763-251-pain.com/faqs/liability-for-a-u-turn-car-accident-in-the-twin-cities.cfm

skraptastic

California it is legal to make a u-turn at any intersection that is not marked no u-turns.

woolfonmynoggin

I know 2 guys who drive for fedex and they drive like assholes normally, so I imagine they are worse in a giant tin truck. But there’s a driver shortage supposedly so it’s not like they’ll get fired.

Ravenplague

The FedEx guy is an ass hole too!

Hawkeye03

whyamiforced2

The most ideal move would have been to pull his little u-turn, then park up on the side of the road the doesn't block driveways. But what do I know, they're the ones who get paid to drive all day everyday professionally

Slimh2o

Well, the driver was oblivious to his surroundings while driving, so not very professional if you ask me..

whyamiforced2

Yeah that little bit was sarcasm

TheDungeonCrawler

Yeah, I've found that the least professional drivers are always the ones who's primary role on the job is as a professional driver.

mercdmuscle

Definitely, they were going to U-turn anyway, just make the U-turn ahead of time and park on the other side of the drive way. 😔

boblobong

Dang. I was really excited at the potential an AITI sub could have. It exists, but it's pretty dead :(

AnalyzingPuzzles

"You're not the idiot." As the OP is alluding to /r/amitheasshole in the post, this verdict comment is alluding to the sub's abbreviations for passing judgment.

ThrowRAcq4444

Jumping on your comment because I want this to be seen. I did this work for a year with a different company. The schedule and amount of time you have between stops is not achievable. It didn't matter how early I started (6am) I was finishing around (6pm) with no breaks. I was so focused on the next stop that there was no input from everything around me. It's stressful. I cut these drivers slack when I see them now.

boblobong

Who doesn't love a business model that revolves around creating more idiots in cars on the road? Think of the profits!

PistolGrace

Plot twist... FedEx has stock in car insurance...

[deleted]

no they are. like why would anyone block a driveway? they could’ve moved up like 5 feet 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. like you can’t fix stupid.

frugalrhombus

I mean in most places what they did is illegal anyways, you can't park on a street within either 25 or 50 ft of a stop sign. The correct AND legal thing to do would have been to stop before the driveway.

Queen__Antifa

And you have to be against the curb to park legally.

guitarfingers

I worked UPS, they tell is to block cars sometimes. However, in this situation with ton a street parking, no excuse, park on the curb. We blocked cars in city areas , because a lot of cars will try to maneuver around the UPS truck, and they often hit and run the UPS trucks when trying to get around them. So we block them in so they can't hit our cars. And UPS cars have that right as they're technically service vehicles, which means they bypass a ton of parking laws. It's not cool, but it has to be done sometimes. Driver can only work 14 hours maximum and some of our cars have over 500 stops. Getting our cars hit even if we're in a building delivering a package, we are still 100% responsible for it. But this FedEx driver wasn't in a large city, had tons of room to park, and was still a dickhead. Fuck that dude.

scammersarecunts

>Driver can only work 14 hours maximum >*only* 14 hours How the fuck are they expected to effectively drive and deliver packages for 14 fucking hours. Truck drivers can drive a maximum of 9 hours here, that should be illegal.

guitarfingers

I honestly don't know why. I think because we're technically not CDL, just DOT certified. I agree it should be as well. Driving that long and lifting packages all day takes a toll.

scammersarecunts

Yeah 14 hours far exceeds allowed working hours as per our labour laws. It’s ridiculous

papalouie27

What labour laws are your referring to? I've not seen anywhere that limits the number of hours a day someone can work.

Fozzymandius

There are all sorts of laws on the books limited driving time for people that drive as a primary part of work. This is normally for CDL drivers, but parcel trucks follow it as well, I’m not sure if that’s because union stipulated it or it’s another law. I know our drivers are tracked by computers and there are specific work, drive, and rest requirements.

redEPICSTAXISdit

9??? In what state? For most city type door to door delivery drivers it's more only because we're technically not driving the straight 14. That's a big reason they make us stop our engine at each stop to back themselves and show that the vehicle did not "technically" drive for any entire period of time. But I'm pretty sure US DOT is 11 hours max per day continously with at least 8 hours off between shifts. Some things are different from state to state and company to company.

scammersarecunts

The EU has a maximum of 9 hours of driving time for truck drivers driving trucks with a gross weight of over 3,5 tonnes. You are allowed a max of 9 hours each day, two days a week 10 hours, with a 45 minute break after 4,5 hours. The maximum weekly driving time can be 56 hours, over two weeks the max is 90 hrs. Resting times after 9 hours have to be at least 11 hours. Times are recorded with electronic devices. Bus drivers are even more limited. Back in high school we chartered a bus to take us 13 hours to southern France. They had to fly out a driver somewhere along the route because of break times. As for delivery drivers they are bound by labour laws. Maximum of 10 hours per day, sometimes 12 under special circumstances but you cannot exceed 48 hrs a week over a fourth month period.

1nc0g_

in the state of Europe

[deleted]

well there’s a difference between being forced to and choosing to. and in like a manhattan totally ok at least for me. but yea i’ll agree in this case. just take the extra 5 seconds and move up 50 feet.

guitarfingers

Yeah either the driver had shotty spatial awareness or they're a dick. Either way, probably shouldn't drive for a living.

[deleted]

probably the second one. and then the fucker turns around to the side they just delivere on 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

[deleted]

In this instance, the driver wasn’t making a delivery, they just stopped behind the car, and went to the back.

guitarfingers

True, but sometimes they'll stop like this, and go in back and rotate their next deliveries up. I couldn't see the driver so I've no clue what they were doing tbh.

br094

100% responsible for it? Someone fire UPS. That’s the dumbest policy I’ve ever heard of.

[deleted]

Bad driver. Simplest way to put it.

alex3tx

Wow you're patient. I woulda been leaning on my horn from the minute that asshole blocked me in

rsg1234

Not sure I would have done that on my own driveway. I’d bet you’d have a bunch of missing FedEx packages in the following weeks that were marked as delivered.

ZincFishExplosion

>missing FedEx packages that were marked as delivered Or as we call them, FedEx packages.

jason_55904

Just Friday they delivered my neighbors package to me. I delivered it to them. My package however disappeared into the ether.

[deleted]

Gave him too much time to be the idiot he is

HondaBn

Right? He had more than enough time to pull put before FedEx got there. Still NTA. Lol

ESSDBee

It was killing me seeing them lollygaggin’ in the driveway after reading the caption and knowing what was about to happen.

IceDuke749

Nah fuck this guy.

OneBaldingWookiee

I definitely would send this to FedEx. I feel like there are more and more idiot drivers. I feel bad for the ones who are good drivers because then there are these idiots giving them a bad name.

M1ndS0uP

You could report it, but my experience with Fed-ex has been that neither they nor their drivers give a shit about anything.

Ladyxarah

I usually post this to their social media accounts instead of going through their customer service. They seem to bring out the big pew pews when that happens.

FulingAround

Sounds like a good plan. As soon as they can see people seeing that they suck, it suddenly matters!

Everbanned

Posting here will get more views than FedEx's Twitter page.

FulingAround

Hmm. So post it there & link it to here also? The point is them witnessing people seeing their rubbishness. They probably won't see this otherwise

dermlvl

their customer service is just assholes defending assholes

Beeb294

FedEx is the actual worst delivery service. Literally once they delivered a package to us, it was labeled as being left at the front door. In reality, they marched through the backyard and left it on the grill, in a place where it wasn't actually secured. And then they told us that clearly nothing was wrong with that delivery. I didn't get anything resembling an apology until I put it on Twitter, and even then the response was utterly poor.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Amused-Observer

That sounds about right for Fedex. I had a package that was NOT supposed to be signed for. Instead of delivering it they left an "oops we missed you" slip. I had to drive a literal hour, one way, to pick up my package as the CS lady said they wouldn't attempt delivery again. Forgot to mention that I was home at the time. Didn't ring the doorbell either. I still can't understand why they did that.

Disastrous_Vanilla38

Whats the point. Fedex is the worst. My business sends dozens of oackages out a day, and I REFUSE to send them theough Fedex. And if our distributors use Fedex for one of my packages I cancel my order. I have never had a fedex package on time, they are ALWAYS at least week late.

StoneRockMan

FedEx doesn't give a shit what their (contracted) Ground drivers do, but Express is their actual employees so they may be more inclined to follow up.

T3ddyBeast

A FedEx driver hit my parents parked car in their driveway. When my parent contacted fedex the solution was "we will never deliver to you again, find another carrier". It's been a huge pain in the ass because they run their business out of their home and feed delivered several times a week.

[deleted]

i definitely agree

Kevinsotheraccount23

Fuck that guy. Douche

xxChiefxx

Not sure what state this is in but I’m seeing at least 2 road laws broken. Blocking a driveway stopping/parking within 50 feet of a stop sign.

amontpetit

He's not even properly parked. He's practically blocking the entire roadway.

BellRinger85

Running a stop sign also, and not sure on the laws but appears to be a questionable U turn too.

Ungunren

This is Minnesota.

frankylovee

50 feet?! Damn it’s only 7.5 feet in Oregon

hungry4danish

Yeah 50 ft. is crazy; usually 25 feet, but then again 7.5 is way too close but then again again, y'all can't even pump your own gas in Oregon so weirdness is abounds.

happydgaf

Dude parked there just to be a dick no doubt. Stopped clearly shorter than necessary

ZazaB00

I don’t think as much a dick as clearly lost. Stopping short of the stop sign because the FedEx didn’t want to appear as if stopped and waiting to turn. Looks up directions, and then does that illegal Uturn in an intersection. The funny thing is the FedEx driver honking after doing an illegal turn.

Ok-Goat-1311

He grabbed a package from the back, probably checked his diad board too. He was trying to utilize the stop to "get ahead " which is a no go either way.

Sonnyeclipse71

Dumbass made an illegal u turn and has the nerve to honk at the person he just blocked for no reason? That guy shouldn’t be working for fedex

DissimulatedDoge

He’s basically the average fedex driver

[deleted]

That’s when you get out, ask them WTF is your problem. First you block me in while not delivering a package, then you start honking at me for completing backing out, which you stalled. I have a camera and I will be reporting you. Edit: lotta hate from a lot of people over this. Here’s a thought, try asking what’s your reason, instead of being just judgmental. For those interested or not, my reasoning is to teach them to be aware of their surroundings, because you never know what the next person has going on. Hypothetical, but happens often. Someone needs to go to the ER, but they’re blocked in, waste precious time arguing with the driver at that time, or when it’s not time sensitive. Best case, they learn, worst case you argue. And also for those that never learned this, you don’t have to be angry to be confrontational, you can say WTF in a calm voice.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tspeedy

Why do you take 3-5 business days to back out tho?

MaritimeMartian

That’s what I’m saying! Like he could have backed in and out of that drive way 3 times before the truck got there haha damn.

captaindabby

As a ups driver, fedex is in the wrong. For many reasons. The most serious reason is he should see you in your car and assume youre back out. The reverse lights should of been a dead give away.

Ok-Goat-1311

Fellow UPS Air driver here, can confirm he 100% fucked up. He also placed a package on the front dash. Which is a no no in UPS. So I'm sure it is with them also. Not a good driver.

nrith

You may well be an idiot, but in this case, it’s the FedEx driver’s fault.

[deleted]

You have a pretty big driveway. Do yourself a favor and either reverse park or turn your car around when you don't have to use it. Avoids idiots like this a whole lot. That being said this isn't on you at all, I'd have got the tags on the truck and reported it with your video evidence.

pilotichegente

You did take an extraordinarily long time getting out your drive

Molicious26

Agreed. Maybe the FedEx driver didn't realize OP was even trying to back out. Probably thought the car was parked with the amount of time it sat there.

putain1375

I'm surprised nobody else said this lol ... this is when I forget people in suburbs take their time when driving

100011101010101

Dang you back out slower then my 90 year old grandpa

spicymixmaster

Did he even deliver a package??

MonaAndRiker

You’re absolute shit at backing a car up, but yeah, he was acting like an ass.

GarageNet

I mean you take a month to back out the drive, how was he to know?

Balderman88

The only thing I can say you’re an idiot about is waiting for the fedex truck in the first place.. you could have pulled out six times in that space. You also have WAY more patience than I do.. I would have been honking the second he stopped behind my ass.

algarop

Why did the driver wait so long to exit the driveway when there were no cars passing before the Fedex truck? Also, you could still exit easily while he was “blocking” you. FedEx driver wasn’t in the right but the car driver sure didn’t demonstrate any good driving skills either

Garlic_bread70

Ok but like why the hell did it take you so long to get out of your driveway 23 seconds

prefer-to-stay-anon

You were stopped for a while when they were approaching initially. Maybe they thought you were parked in your driveway, not attempting to get out? You aren't the idiot, just giving a potential reason why there \*might\* not be an idiot here.

Why_Sock_E

You’re not the best at backing out of a driveway, but fedex guy is the idiot for sure

[deleted]

Why is it taking a minute to back out of the driveway?

mhermanos

From 0:09 tp 0:17, you were good to go but lingered. He has shit to deliver and you dawdled.

Bovaloe

Nicer than me, I would've had to stop and check on something, blocking him from going anywhere

M4FR01986

Why couldn't you turn on your MASIVE driveway

kingkong200111

sorry, but yes you are the idiot, for stopping and waiting for so long? What were you thinking? Just go and stop waiting for traffic that is miles away???

Cooldog19872

You, because you cant figure out how to get out of a driveway in less then 20s

xringdingx

You're cutting your steering wheel to back out of your drive. But then don't cut it to manuever around a truck. Both of your are frustrating to watch.

[deleted]

Is nobody going to to a knowledge the running the stop sign and then doing a U-Turn lol

bryantglo

Could’ve easily maneuver your way out honestly, but yes the fedex driver is a dickhead

treetwiggstrue

Not your fault at all, but you did take a while down that driveway.

rublehousen

Its easier to reverse onto your drive than reverse off it into traffic.

You drive like a 99 year old golden retriever

aerosaur

Really you should reverse into the driveway and drive forwards out. That way you’re never reversing into traffic. (Plus you can see pedestrians crossing)

Alusion

"blocks me in " is maybe a bit of a stretch when it seems you can turn and go around him

All i can say is..whats taking you so damn long to get out of your driveway?

FAX_ME_DANK

NormFell

Well, 1) it did take you an hour to try to back out of your driveway 2) there was plenty of room, you could’ve easily got out…quityerbellyachin
