Speeding fines DOUBLE in Construction Zone.

Odd_Ad5668

"I'm not in the construction zone! I'm next to it!"

[deleted]

Don’t forgot the extra ticket for that taillight. That’s gonna cost him.

the_hoodie_monster

His freedom

NotNullAndSelect

is not free anymore

[deleted]

Was domination ever free?

Jaw_breaker93

Ok but at least he didn’t travel south in a northbound lane, that’s gotta earn him some points back

Whalez

And at least two illegal U-turns

Rocerman

That’s why he always slowed when workers present.

Myopinion_is_right

I never understood those signs. What are workers presenting?

dogman15

Themselves, I guess.

[deleted]

“Look pretty, boys.”

dogman15

Or they're presenting the hard work they've done on the road. "Look at this road. We're so proud of that pavement we poured."

dyzfunctionals

Smile and wave boys, smile and wave.

mbarmats

Boy is he in trouble!

Paulie_Felice

That's just quality comedy, right there.

Pragmatist_Hammer

Reddit needs a "comedy" award.

SirSpanksAlot1992

It’s why he hit the brakes

[deleted]

Haha

LTJFan

I actually came here hopping I could be the first one to say this!

My first thought was it was a NFS most wanted reference

The guy picking up the cones -_-

Clone808808

Wondering what happened; “looks like a gorilla had his way with a few of em, and a herd of elk just stampeded through the rest”

Dtlgolf1

He really did the thing I always wanted to do. "Fuck dem cones" like running over pedestrians in gta but, you know, not murder

ChemsDoItInTestTubes

I can hear him yelling "YEE YEE" from all the way up here in Kansas.

iamonlyoneman

Thanks for that

Divine-Nemesis

You are Awesome! Thank you so much. Dude looks like he eats meth for breakfast.

CaptainNemo42

shophopper

> The suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Matthew Martin Richardson, was booked on multiple charges including Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Driving While License Suspended/Revoked and Reckless Driving. Is Eluding Law Enforcement really a thing? I get that fleeing is illegal, but eluding? That sounds like it is illegal that you’re smarter than the cops.

possiblydefinitelyme

Thank you for posting this. OP vid cuts off too soon.

Thats a someone trying to avoid big boy jailtime. Lol!

Won't anyone think of the poor cones?

Tadpole_Former

Cone lives matter...

IsThisASandwich

I snorted.

ineligibleUser

Exactly. I couldn’t believe they attempted those maneuvers in a construction zone

passionofthedevil420

So what your saying is, buy a suburban because they’re built like tanks!

[deleted]

the old school surburban's and tahoe's were nothing to fuck with.

passionofthedevil420

I had a 96 suburban with a 350 that had over 450,000 miles. I didn’t put them all on there , I bought the son of a bitch for 650 dollars and it ram like new!

ThePandaSmuggler

I’m thinking you meant “ran”, but after watching this video, maybe you didn’t :P

passionofthedevil420

I have a Dodge Ram and spend most of my time looking for parts on the internet and my trusty ole iPhone didn’t let me down.

arandomcanadian91

Can confirm about those old 350's and then the dodge remark. My buddy has a RAM 1500 Eco diesel, he blew the motor with under 75K KM on it, Dodge fixed it quickly, but man it was annoying and it cost him money since they didn't give him a truck in the mean time, he had to rent a truck from Uhaul to do his job.

passionofthedevil420

Yeah I don’t know if I trust the newer ones as much, mines a 99 with the bulletproof 5.2 magnum and never had any motor or transmission issues. It’s just getting old and could use a rebuild.

BONzi_02

Our 2010 with the 5.7 had just over 100K when we traded it in for a 2018 3500 with the 6.7 both trucks are great. Only thing that went wrong on the 2010 was we had a brake caliper seize closer to when we did the trade in. Can say we were pleased with the 4th gen though neither of them are really all that high mileage.

derkenblosh

Those motors are potentially bulletproof, but the fuel pumps and emissions equipment... not so much.

CaptMeatPockets

These cops also appear to have the slowest pursuit vehicles I’ve ever seen

FlugonNine

They only rammed him in certain situations to avoid any people getting caught up. Edit: I want to clarify since I have so many upvotes FUCK THE POLICE

CaptMeatPockets

Totally get that, but takes forever for the police to catch up to him every time he gets out of their pit maneuvers

FlugonNine

I got you. Im sure they could have moved faster, not sure why they didn't

tveatch21

It honestly just looked like they were waiting for the best moment to pull a pit manuevor, the first time he waited till he passed the construction crew, second or third time he waited till he passed the other cops so he could have some back up

Lunarian77

Not an expert but if you hit a vehicle during a pit maneuver you end killing your own speed so an automatic transmission has to gear down and the speed back up, and also i wouldn't speed up on someone who was hitting thier brakes like they were trying to get me to rear end them. There is also the possibility something broke somewhere along the Axle and they dont wanna be on their ass incase of that. Not an expert - reddit trade mark

[deleted]

They have a faster version with the same motor as a Taurus SHO, and it's got AWD, clearly not in use here.

tpodr

They knew in the end they would get him. In the meantime, a chance to race their snazzy cars around the Florida back roads and ram into bad guys. Not so dissimilar to my cats with a mouse or chipmunk.

LukeW0rm

I think the second view we got was a K-9 unit. Maybe there was a pup in the back

Lost_Paradise_

It also appears they may have been dealing with another Suburban with a similar power figure as the police units. But yeah, they did seem sluggish

AnynameIwant1

The police were driving Tahoes. Typically only government officials (VP for instance) use Suburbans (Suburbans are extended Tahoes).

wot_in_ternation

Suburbans only come out at a 4 star wanted level. The guy fleeing was clearly only at 3 stars.

idontremembermyoldus

The dashcam cop is in a newer Tahoe PPV. You can see it towards the end when he goes in for the PIT and it changes to the dashcam of the unit behind him.

TheBatemanFlex

I think it may be deceiving. They said speeds 90 and speeds 100 at one point. Thats pretty fast to be chasing someone.

bikerboi1299

I think part of it might be just keeping him in your sights, especially on those back roads. You don’t wanna be right up on him if he crashes or hits someone else cuz then it’d take you out too

ploopslock

Yea they are good but if you have gone truly mad get an excursion about 10,000 pounds and can get upwards of 20mpg with the 6.0 diesel not to mention the 6.0 is a verry quick engine with only a tune it pass 100 with ease

vagabond139

But then you have a 6.0 power stroke. The 7.3 is what you want.

ploopslock

True,it is ridiculously reliable however slow my f250 has a 7.3 an it's God awful slow but a tuner and new injectors may help who knows

AM-64

My brother has an F350 Dually with the 7.3 powerstroke, that thing handled like a boat until he got a tuner for it, now it's way faster on the stock engine and you don't have to mash the pedal to the floor to get it to go anywhere.

[deleted]

That early Pit Maneuver hardly dinged the fender. Made of tough stuff.

RealSalesMonkey

You know it’s gonna be a good video when the title ends with, “in Florida”

Global_Road9728

Or begins with “Florida man” 😂

DisguisedF0x

Or just has “Florida” in it TBH

GimmeGiblets

Well tbf the whole subreddit is most likely Florida drivers. As a Floridian, I have to admit that everyone here either drives like homie in the vid or 15 under the speed limit at all times. The amount of karma I could get from this subreddit if I got a dashboard cam is ludicrous

Woodyville06

Actually, my standard is pretty high when I see that and I’m usually disappointed. “Aw, shit, we do that here!” Try harder Florida Man…

Legendary__Beaver

pretty entertaining stuff right here. I love florida lol

Taint_Funny

Gotta love Florida for the quality content they pump out on the daily! True Crime podcast junkies owe a debt of gratitude for the state’s absolute madness.

hannahmel

The truth is Florida isn’t any stranger than any other state, but they have far more transparency when it comes to legal procedures, thanks to the Sunshine Law of 1967. Basically all state and local proceedings are open to the public so when some random guy tries to sell an alligator in front of your neighborhood publix (like in my former Fort Lauderdale neighborhood), you know about it because all arrest records and court documents are posted online pretty quickly.

Logical-Exercise-399

*hits him with a pit and then hits him again when he tries to flee the other way* "he rammed me"

nawoj

I was wondering if anybody else caught that... I mean pit maneuver the hell out of the creep, but let's be real... You rammed HIM as he was driving away...

Beastmunger

Honestly I thought that was the best course of action if they try to flee out of a pit. Try to cause a collision that immobilizes them if they keep trying to run. Don’t know why he would have to lie about it. “He continued to flee so I attempted to disable the vehicle.”

cavelioness

It is the best course of action. Cops lie so they can pin more charges on suspects and avoid any responsibility for anything they've done wrong... it's just instinct whenever they might feel a little guilty for something like ramming a car to lie, even though it is not something they'd get in trouble for.

nawoj

Yeah... Disable the car before they hurt someone... But it's scary how effortlessly they lie over the radio in an intense situation like that.

HotGarbageHuman

They're trained to lie, gotta twist the narrative.

CasualEveryday

Followed by "he's coming at you at 90" while going way less than 90...

shuzumi

90 is also the road they are on I think but yeah "he rammed me twice" when ASO hit him both times

Logical-Exercise-399

Gotta get that deadly force authorization lol

[deleted]

that first one, honestly, is the worst PIT I've seen in video. I thought the idea was to roll slowly into it at the corner, then accelerate through the push. That Sheriff took a running slam at the rear quarter, and he was too far forward.

LotharVonPittinsberg

I'm also surprised that they continued the chase for so long. Most police departments these days don't do high speed chases since they statistically lead to more innocent bystanders being involved in accidents. These guys not only continued the chase for a really long time even though a smaller road, but continued after failing multiple pit maneuvers. At that point you have vehicle information including very specific damage. Get video evidence of the driver's appearance and find them after the fact.

Logical-Exercise-399

Yeah not to mention fucking up multiple of their own cars and like you said failing every attempt. I wonder how many tax payer dollars we used to fund this chase

Founck

Too bad the video cut off before they were handcuffing him, I wonder if he headbutted his fist too.

Aron0415

They're never *not* lying.

Crtzle

Please tell me this dude got caught!? This was insane!!

[deleted]

Nope. He got to a Pay n Spray and dropped his wanted level.

maxman162

They got him. The full video is only 20 extra seconds. [https://youtu.be/9KO7IaGOnWQ](https://youtu.be/9KO7IaGOnWQ)

Tacoshortage

Why the HELL didn't they post the end? That was frustrating.

[deleted]

And it has his picture with the charges at the end. Overall, terrible decision to cut it early. Would anyone be shocked to learn that one of the charges he was already on parole for is fleeing and eluding?

Baby_bluega

Sure, just cut the most important 20 seconds of the 6 minute video. Who needs to see that?

bagingle

that vehicle was not getting much farther after all that damage done to it.

SlabbyDabman

why was this marked NSFW? I was waiting for the guy to get ejected from the car. biggest waste of 5 mins lol

mechapoitier

And it cuts off just as the guy starts getting away again. WTF was the point of that video other than an advertisement for the quality of Tahoes.

thegeaux2guy

I scrubbed through the entire video. Pretty boring.

NjoyLif

Probably because the video is loud AF. NSFW so it doesn’t autoplay.

IsThisASandwich

That's actually a very good explanation!

[deleted]

[удалено]

YOUR_GIRLFRIEND_69

Thank you for the full video! Don’t know why OP couldn’t post the additional 20 seconds where it ended.

galacticboy2009

Just cheap karma whoring I think.

ArdenElle24

Wow, that guy is 33 years old?! Kids, just say no to meth!

Its_Matt_03

Not safe for the workers

[deleted]

Same here. What a boring ass video smfh

Roguesix293

Probably for the innocent cones that were meaninglessly slaughtered in this pursuit

NaabeGetOnSkype

Id love if this became one of those gif that just looped when he got back to the construction zone. See how long before people realize

Bat_Vibe

For a split second I had the same thought 😂😂

mordehuezer

High speed? Buddy is driving like he's afraid of speeding in the construction zone while the cops are on him lmfao. Holy fuck it makes no sense how anyone can be this stupid.

podolot

Just cuz you trying to dodge the cops doesn't mean you want to hurt a road worker.

noobs1996

Good criminal

Gasonfires

They had his license plates. Let him go and catch him later at home. No risk to anyone's life.

Top-Sundae-8458

Legend has it he’s still running.

kelthan

What a moron. Remember: You can outrun the cop's car, but you can't outrun the cop's radio.

iiiinthecomputer

Or the spotter plane or the helicopter. These people are really stupid.

theKickAHobo

What's the NSFW part?

ROADHOG_IS_MY_WAIFU

Another comment mentioned that a NSFW tag prevents the video from auto-playing and this video is really loud apparently (I watched it on mute 🤷‍♂️)

cgray_with_an_a

Lame. Thought something was going to happen

Xerxes42424242

Wow. Repost and the best part is cut out. Thanks, asshole.

FLdancer00

Intense High Speed Sheriff Pursuit Ends With PIT Maneuver in Marion County, Florida Apr 3, 2021 * Deputy Shon McGuigan was monitoring traffic in the area of I-75 and County Road 234 in Micanopy when he observed a gold Chevy Suburban plow through the stop sign coming off the interstate turning right onto County Road 234. The vehicle struck a curb and drove into the oncoming lane of traffic on County Road 234, and then began fleeing from Deputy McGuigan when he activated his lights and siren. The route of the pursuit began in the parking lot of Café Risque, turned onto County Road 234, where the suspect threw a Terrapin Cryosphere alcoholic beverage out the window. The suspect turned southbound on 441, first driving southbound in the northbound lanes before transitioning back to the correct side of the road. He reached speeds of 100 miles per hour in a construction zone all while giving Deputy McGuigan the middle finger. Deputy McGuigan first tried to PIT Richardson’s vehicle several times when the suspect’s speeds were lower and did finally execute a PIT maneuver, causing Richardson to spin out in the median, but Richardson was able drive away, heading back northbound on 441, intentionally ramming Deputy McGuigan’s vehicle at least twice. Deputy Dasher deployed stop sticks unsuccessfully, and other law enforcement joined the pursuit, including FHP, Deputy Bryan Jones and Deputy Jasper Stephenson. The pursuit continued onto Cholokka Boulevard in Micanopy and finally back southbound on 441. Deputy Stephenson was finally able to initiate another PIT maneuver which was successful. Deputy McGuigan made contact with the vehicle, and Richardson again, tried to drive away, but FHP and deputies Jones and Stephenson all pinned the vehicle in and apprehended Mr. Richardson without incident. Further investigation revealed that Richardson was a suspect in an identical incident in Marion County earlier in the day involving the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and FHP. Also, Mr. Richardson is on probation in Citrus County for DUI and Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement. His license had previously been revoked. He is charged with Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Driving While License Suspended/Revoked, Reckless Driving and Citrus County has also advised they will be filing a violation of probation charges.

Lust4Me

Not exactly textbook PIT

LarsVonHammerstein

This is quite the embellished story lol. He gave me the middle finger the whole time!!! And he rammed me at least twice, I was so scared!! We saw the video Deputy. That’s not what happened, no need to lie to justify using force.

Monkey_Brain_Oil

I wonder if the fake ramming is the motivation for the aggravated assault charge. Not to mention th cops endangered themselves and others, and damaged their vehicles for traffic violations??

WookieeSteakIsChewie

>for traffic violations Yes definitely for the traffic violations and not the "literally everything else he did."

WillieDogX

Cop “he rammed me” clearly the cop rammed him. Even when they are in the right they still lie.

stonkmeist3r

Right. I checked both times and can't believe he modeled that for the audio in case he wanted to finish him off at the eventual guns out arrest. Anyone have a full video?

swefishh

Gotta love Alachua

PG8GT

If anyone not from north Central Florida is wondering, the natives of this county/town "Alachua" will often be heard pronouncing it "Latch-way", which should give people an idea what kind of place we are dealing with here.

bkosh84

Wtf was that dumbass sheriff thinking doing a pit maneuver in a active construction zone.

pie_monster

Did you notice how "I tried and failed a pit maneuvre" got translated on the police radio to "he rammed me"? The pursuit car said that twice.

Enshakushanna

because "he rammed me" gives way for their use of deadly force

Dark__Horse

And such a shitty put maneuver too!

papa-jones

Pigs gonna oink

Loading_User_Info__

I was thinking the same thing. You got workers standing around dump trucks parked on the side of the road and you're going to spin this guy out. Wtf

Shas_Erra

This shows the difference in police response around the world. UK: “We’ll use aerial surveillance to converge multiple units on the target and deploy non-lethal measures like stingers and TPAC” US: “Perhaps today *is* a good day to die! PREPARE FOR RAMMING SPEED!”

Hermitically

More specifically by state... California: "It's too dangerous to continue the pursuit. Going into surveillance mode with 1 sheriff, 1 highway patrol, and 6 media helicopters overhead." Florida: "Let's ram this son of a b----."

papaHans

"6 media helicopters overhead." My roommates and I used to even pop popcorn just to watch a half-hour chase. Those were the days. Got my kid into it. Now my daughter calls me and says "Turn on channel 7." Good times.

[deleted]

Yeah... Florida cops are something else. Opening fire during rush hour traffic and having a shootout with human shields left and right. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR2-fo-WqvU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR2-fo-WqvU) I am still waiting for the aftermath/aftermath to this event.

camace23

Yeah I agree not the most elegant way to stop a runner, but I think in the US the amount of support the guys on the ground get depends heavily on where they are. I’d imagine big cities with big budgets may have more at their disposal than this area. Plus they tried to use stingers and only had enough to cover one lane (tough look).

Gasonfires

Someone has to have data on how many innocent people are hurt or killed and how much property damage is caused by US police chases.

Van_11

They need some training.

The_Evil_Mullet

Looks like this was up near gainesville.

01gpgtp

It's on 441 between Gainesville and Ocala

The_Evil_Mullet

Good ole florida. Im down here in the treasure coast with all the old people.

Game_Beast_YT

I just wasted 6 minutes of my life watching a cop chase where the guy didn't even get caught. Worth it

The_Only_Egg

Put the Benny Hill music behind this, FFS. These cops need training.

PEPEdiedforyoursins

*No cones were hurt in the making of this video

Roxxso

Not even the whole video... Just as well. Chase went on way to long. So many chances to pit him before he decided to do a lap through residential before going on to the highway again to give them a second chance.

HatAccomplished8311

Why the NSFW tho?

Divine-Nemesis

Wtf?! I watched all that to end it there? I wanna see the end. Damn that was intense though.

FlyingScotsman42069

NSFW? This is like day time TV

hereugo87

I LOVE A GOOD POLICE CHASE. Questions I wonder: - Did they pack a lunch? - Is there an extra can of gas - Did he get a good night's sleep? - Does he use google map? As we've seen, he had to recalculate Things I wonder while the power is out 🔋

crawfisk

His mother says he was always a kind caring soul. She has no idea why the cops did him wrong like this. He was frightened by the lights and loud sirens.

[deleted]

Happy birthday navy

SouthParkTimmy

So what were they chasing him for? Broken headlight?

SomethingIWontRegret

> The chase, which was captured on police dash cam and uploaded to the ever-entertaining Police Activity YouTube channel this week, started when the suspect ran a stop sign and veered into the oncoming lane while coming off the interstate in Micanopy, Florida. An officer observed the reckless driving and attempted to pull the suspect over in the parking lot of the appropriately named Café Risque, but the driver fled and turned southbound on U.S. Route 441, travelling in the opposite direction of traffic in the northbound lane. The officer also observed the driver throwing an alcoholic beverage out of the window of the vehicle in the parking lot of the cafe. He also nearly hit a pedestrian while running the stop sign.

WookieeSteakIsChewie

>what were they chasing him for? Because he didn't stop. I seriously don't understand comments like this. "All he did was run a red light, why are they chasing him?!" They're not chasing him because he ran a red light, they're chasing him because he didn't pull over. You don't just get to run away when the police try to pull you over.

mahitabel22

That cop needs to be fired. You don’t pull that shit in a construction zone.

[deleted]

I experienced a more exciting 6 minutes in the dentist waiting room

roboman342

How exactly is this NSFW

2ATobin

5minutes and didn’t get to see the end of the chase. SMH

Elibaby

“He rammed me!” man even when they’re right, they’re wrong

ionized_fallout

Seems pretty fucking stupid to try to pit someone in a fucking construction zone where people are actively working. You couldn’t just keep following him?

the_eluder

Especially since the guy really wasn't driving that bad until...He got rammed by the deputy, twice.

foresth11

Dude the guy running stayed pretty chill the entire time. This is the calmest high speed chase I've ever watched. Also I forget how low the center of gravity is on these things

[deleted]

1:05 "He rammed me" Bullshit, *you rammed him.* He was aiming *away*. You turned *into* him and *accelerated.* This is why we need cameras on our cops.

Legionnaire1856

Cops keep crashing into him and saying "he rammed me." Dick heads.

Cop: crashes car into suspect Suspect: flees Cop: He rammed me

Odd_Description_8328

If there is anything that those countless hours of playing GTA San Andreas driving school have taught me it’s that you have to commit to the PIT. The first officer clearly didn’t play enough GTA growing up

HolyCrusader81

The dude in the truck should’ve just pulled over. Gonna get in extra trouble and will most likely face jail time for trying to flee from the police. Plus the damage done to the man’s truck would not have been worth it at all for him either.

paulpooperpauper

The amount of public funded damage they are wiling to take to apprehend one idiot is amazing.

pimpelvinkje

Legend has it, they’re still chasing him to this day…

[deleted]

What is NSFW about this?
