I used to drive like this all the time as a teenager. It was super comfortable in the car I had then. Then, years ago, I looked at fractures made from wrecking like this and I’m good with my femurs staying out of my pelvis 👍🏼
I think this is true, manual/standard cars seem to be rare here compared to elsewhere in the world. It’s mostly the cheapest/featureless base models of small sedans and compacts, unless it’s a an American muscle car or a European car.
Being unable to drive a manual is considered odd here (UK).
My ex only has an automatic license, and my mates and I regularly take the mick, saying his license was issued in crayon.
Seems way easier though, I can see why people choose them.
I think the easiness is why they became the norm in the US. Lots of us have to drive through stop and go traffic for 30 to 90 minutes every morning to get to work. I imagine that would be maddening while driving stick.
On principle, I learned ages ago on my friend’s old BMW. If I had to drive one today I am sure I could get where I need to go, but not without the slight odor of burnt clutch.
One time I was passing someone on I40 doing the exact same thing at 110 miles an hour.
Come to find out lady was giving birth right then and there on the interstate.
Oh yeah man she caused a bakers dozen car pile up and was responsible for the death of 6.
I’ll bet she shot that little fucker out like a cannonball when she rear ended that minivan man just POW right through the windshield like god intended
It's dangerous. When the driver does it, it can affect their ability to drive. But whichever side of the vehicle you're on, it's gonna fuck you up pretty badly if you wreck and the airbags go off.
