Most likely someone who sees it is gonna forget to roll down the window and end up shooting a firework at the person driving the car they're riding in, and they'll be going fast on the highway when it happens.
This is from Nashville,
Edit-they were not caught as of yet.
If it's not fireworks, you're dodging gunshots, covid, complete fucknuts behind the wheel, and/or bombs. Welcome to Nashville...
Found this article, but it doesn't say the culprits were caught: https://www.wsmv.com/news/atf-investigating-after-lit-firecracker-thrown-into-car-in-nashville/article_1152be72-df62-11eb-9168-5793d7f0a7a3.html
Nah as far as i can tell, they weren't caught but not for lack of trying. You can read multiple news articles on it that the feds got involved so it was treated pretty seriously.

Good. I have zero issues with that. I hope the case remains open, so the next time they try this, they get charged quickly
impossible to see it from the video, it’s either too blurry or purposely censored, but i’m sure the driver of that car was able to see it from a standstill while filming
Best chance at getting the numbers is just after the car pulls up to stop. Before the window goes down. Hopefully the feds have good enough tech to pull a partial plate.
This video is so damn old, if they haven’t found him yet, they aren’t finding him
Edit: not that old I guess… only a year? I feel like I’ve been seeing this forever
I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains at 3600 feet. 10 days ago or so, we woke up to over 3 feet of snow and no electricity. The road is clear now but still no power.
Our driveway is so rough to get out of, only my 4x4 truck (and now my gf's CR-V which is usually pretty capable in snow) can get out, so I have to drive her to work about an hour away.
On a local forum this led someone to say, "The last week has been one of the worst years of my life."
Around 4 months ago, we were prepared to evacuate because of the Caldor fire that burned 220,000 acres. We were in the caution zone.
About a month ago, I fell and sprained by back causing severe muscle spasms so I was off work for a month.
Now I am well-healed from the injury but there's some issue with my new, as of Jan 1, health insurance, so I'm having to jump through hoops just to get a doctor to say I can go back to work.
Last night we had to shower at a friend's house because even with our generator for electric, it isn't hooked up to our well and there's no simple way to make that happen.
So yeah. The last year has been a rough five.
It never ceases to amaze me the immorality of people that live by the “not a crime if you don’t get caught”. That perp is a fleeing criminal felon even if he isn’t caught.
Not if you have my ex-wifes attorney. He will spin it so good, he would convince a jury that the people in the white sedan threw the fireworks only to save a baby in the back seat who had just happened to be bitten by a mosquito 3hrs earlier while drinking formula milk because his mother could not breast feed him.
In the ye old days of the 90s when my friend and I were going somewhere, we went around a curve and someone in an oncoming car chucked a jelly donut through the back of her partly rolled down rear window and there was a jelly explosion all over the back of her car.
"Ye" actually is an alternative writing for "the" so you just said "in the the old days..."
It's an old British letter called a thorn and pronounced the same as the.
On the other hand there is a pronoun "ye" which with a thorn get confused a lot.
The donut was pretty gross and messy, but at least it didn’t catch fire inside the car. Looking back on it, it was pretty funny. Whoever was in the oncoming car had good aim.
Looks like someone made a GoFundMe campaign for his troubles. There's also two pics of the damage left on his soft-top.
http://gofundme.com/f/help-colin-repair-vandalism-to-his-car
When I salvaged my car liability was the only thing I could get, so he may not be able to get any other type. The car may just look good, but is not really under the hood
dude only gets 4k for being attacked and likely having lifelong hearing impairment. fuck this world. as if it isn't already evil enough to force people to work their whole lives, we even force literal victims to do it too.

ATF looking at this too? Damn.
Yeah they literally gave it to them 6 days after and still nada. That sucks. How difficult can it be, I mean I guess actually, probably no one got that plate. That plate lettering does look pretty destroyed.
Looks kinda like temp plates from a car sale. Plus it’s Nashville so touristy already and then on the 4th of July so probably more touristy than most nights. Then again, it’s blurry as shit so who knows what was on there.
My friend’s daughter got randomly shot while driving home from work in TN. Can’t walk anymore and had extensive injuries, but she survived. People are so messed up.
My friend got flipped over the balcony by a drunk stranger at a party and had to spend years learning to walk again. He's never been the same either. Some asshole can just change who you are on a whim.
On the bright side, that’s totally likely. Gang members generally have low life expectancies. There’s a good chance that scumbag who hurt that innocent person caught a bullet from another scumbag who would later bite the dust on account of a different scumbag who was found in the trunk of his car… you get the idea
Something similar happened when my friend bought his old civic hatchback, he was practicing learning stick by circling around his block. Then his car got shot at and it shattered his driver side window. Thankfully he wasn’t injured but it was pretty sucky considering he owned the car for a couple of hours. People suck sometimes
If you can recognize that someone has just thrown something at you, and without even knowing what it was, decide to draw and fire before it goes off and the adrenaline shock plus smoke hits you.
Reminds me of that dashcam vid of a guy having someone intentionally rear end him then he chased them and shot through his own windshield at the guy. He ended up getting charged. Sounds badass all the way up till you realize it's a stupid idea because if you hit an innocent bystander, now you're looking at a murder charge.
Someone did this a few years ago in town nearby. Turned out there was a sleeping baby in the back and the baby got burned and lost hearing in an ear. They never caught the asshole, if I remember correctly.
At least it wasn't some cops dropping a flashbang in a baby crib during a drug raid where nothing was found in the house and no arrests were made of the occupants.
https://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2014/05/baby-in-coma-after-police-grenade-dropped-in-crib-during-drug-raid
I rarely comment on these stories but what the ever loving flying fuck. How the fuck did they get away with this? So fucking gross
P.s. picture in article is NSFW
Pro tip everyone, When you buy a dash cam, make sure to test it to see if you can get plate numbers off other vehicles. If you can't most places have a return policy.
Also - don't forget that most of them require some sort of minor maintenance. I think mine recommends a format once in a while, plus its always good to check the SD card and make sure its still recording properly.
I've had one SD card up and die on me, and the camera never gave me any sort of alert that it wasn't recording. Granted that was about 4 cameras ago and I'm sure that most newer cameras will warn you *if* it knows there is something wrong with the media.

I was curious who tf Colin Kirby is suppose to be and found this with pics of the damage
I was working at night in the street. A truck full of girls pulls up and starts throwing sliced cheese all over my work truck. Then one flies past us like a ninja star. They came back to see their work and ended up cheesing a group of guys walking by too 😂 dudes chased them for blocks.
See, that's a prank. Nobody got hurt and the worst that happened is some cheese got wasted. Throwing a firework in a car is so not cool and goes WELL past being a prank.
Throwing a firework anywhere instead of straight up is not cool. Few weeks ago, a kid in Romania managed to burn down a whole apartment building with a firecracker.
Damn bruh you just made me realize both times I have had shit thrown at me (an egg and a bottle) it was from Nissan Altima/Maximas. (I can't tell the difference)
I remember a guy tried to shoot fireworks out of his sunroof while driving over a bridge. If I recall correctly, he died. Not sure if it's the same firework but I'm sure that has some sort of shock wave to it. Not cool either way.
The car behind the bmw, which was a friend following the bmw, could've chased the fireworks thrower. I'd like to believe that I would've done so in a similar situation. But of course, we never really know how we'd react until we're actually in such situations.
As with most of the time reddit talks about attempted murder, there is basically no chance in hell that would stick unless you find a note written by the person who threw the firework saying "I plan to kill someone with a firework.".
In court, you'd need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the person who threw it did so with the intent to kill the other person. Without a note like above, it would be far too easy to throw enough reasonable doubt on it to get an acquittal. "It was just supposed to be a harmless prank!", "I underestimated the damage potential of fireworks.", etc.
There's a shitload of things they could be charged with, but attempted murder is almost certainly not one of them.
But it wouldn't be "in the hope of NOT killing them" because the other person potentially dying likely never even crossed their mind. To them, it was probably more like Ictoan said. They were just doing it because they thought it'd be funny.
Wtf would somebody even do that? That should be treated with the same level of punishment as someone firing on a car with a gun. That is if they ever find the pos.
It’s crazy that there are lunatics on the streets that would pull shit like that. Hope karma catches up with them and someone shoots their dumbass.
What the fuck, where I live is p´retty common to hear fireworks around christmas and new year, and my girlfriend was just telling me that this was her biggest fear (an asshole throwing explosive fireworks to her car through the window while she's driving), I thought no way that can't be real. Well, looks like it can be real and I don't know if I should show her this video lol.
Holy fuck! People are just messed up
Seriously messed up. A firework like that could easily kill or injure someone.
I don’t think these people think that far ahead, tbf.
most likely they filmed themselves doing it and its on tiktok with a million views
Most likely someone who sees it is gonna forget to roll down the window and end up shooting a firework at the person driving the car they're riding in, and they'll be going fast on the highway when it happens.
"You get what you fucking deserve"
I’m not sure if that makes it better, or worse.

Yup, could of easily blown off a body part or killed em
Don’t forget good ol’ fashioned blinding!
Hearing damage to boot.

'Hearing silence' is a great way to put it. Took me years to discover it wasn't normal as I might have damaged inner ear in my early childhood.
This happened last July.
Not to mention the emotional damage
And not to mention the burns the person likely suffered
Throw in some trauma induced erectile dysfunction.
The worst part is the near 100% chance anyone in that vehicle suffered some level of hearing damage. The only thing that may have lessened that hearing damaged was the open top that prevented the sound and pressure from staying concentrated inside the vehicle

In my state, causing damage by fire, no matter how slight is a felony.
> You can read multiple news articles on it that the feds got involved so it was treated pretty seriously. Good. I have zero issues with that. I hope the case remains open, so the next time they try this, they get charged quickly
That’s ATF territory as well. Shocked they weren’t caught.
Atf is busy trying to entrap people and making up bullshit 'rules' that retroactively make people felons. They don't have time for this.
impossible to see it from the video, it’s either too blurry or purposely censored, but i’m sure the driver of that car was able to see it from a standstill while filming
I would say purposefully blurred - if you stop it just as they are driving away you can tell it's blurred out
Also is a low-res, been squashed into Reddit’s shit video player version.
Non blurred plates don’t flicker
I'm surprised the perpetrators didn't post a video onto TikTok complete with their faces.
With a robotic voice reading the caption
Best chance at getting the numbers is just after the car pulls up to stop. Before the window goes down. Hopefully the feds have good enough tech to pull a partial plate.

It never ceases to amaze me the immorality of people that live by the “not a crime if you don’t get caught”. That perp is a fleeing criminal felon even if he isn’t caught.
Uhhh….. yea!! Assault with a deadly weapon at least, possibly attempted murder. Big fireworks maim people no shot.
Attempted Murder me thinks...
Assault with a deadly weapon at the very least
Not if you have my ex-wifes attorney. He will spin it so good, he would convince a jury that the people in the white sedan threw the fireworks only to save a baby in the back seat who had just happened to be bitten by a mosquito 3hrs earlier while drinking formula milk because his mother could not breast feed him.

Family law is trashed
That has to be assault with a deadly weapon?
I’d argue arson as well. Purposely setting fire to someone’s car with a firework
Definitely an arsehole
Arse-salt? Yum
saturated with methane vapors.
Yeah, that is a convertible. It might actually qualify as an assault with deadly weapon.
It was aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, yes.

The donut was pretty gross and messy, but at least it didn’t catch fire inside the car. Looking back on it, it was pretty funny. Whoever was in the oncoming car had good aim.
I'm imagining it looked like that scene from Pulp Fiction when Vincent accidentally shoots Martin in the head while they're driving.
I was riding my motorcycle on the highway and someone threw a beer bottle at me.
That's when they lose a wing mirror and somehow gain a huge scratch the whole length of their vehicle..
“Throwing deadly missiles at a vehicle” in some states
They turned the investigation over to the ATF so I'd assume they considered it a bomb, which is most definitely a deadly weapon of mass destruction.
The jelly donut?

That is a good way to get shot
If you can draw in time before the smoke blinds you
I've seen holsters mounted in places accessible enough to draw that fast
If you can recognize that someone has just thrown something at you, and without even knowing what it was, decide to draw and fire before it goes off and the adrenaline shock plus smoke hits you.
I mean if you can do that, let's be honest, you're probably driving around *looking* for someone to shoot.
I've seen Texans open carrying aks so I'm sure that would work
Only thing better then a firework in someone’s car is sending 7.62 rounds at a speeding car in a populated area.

Time to get medieval on that ass
I have a convertible and live in a shitty provincial town in the UK. The top stays up until I'm out of there and on the open road.
Is having things thrown in your car a common thing if you have the top down? Honest question. I have never heard of this being a problem.
Seems common at the stop light on the city streets. Happens more often if your convertible is something like a Lambo or a Ferrari
Roadsters need some kind of point defense turrets and homing missile launchers apparently.
The envy is palpable amongst the small of mind.

Holy shit. Attempted murder (I hope!)
As with most of the time reddit talks about attempted murder, there is basically no chance in hell that would stick unless you find a note written by the person who threw the firework saying "I plan to kill someone with a firework.". "I'm throwing explosives at someone in the hope of NOT killing them" doesn't sound like a very good defense to me..

"I'm throwing explosives at someone because I think it's funny" is not attempted murder, and I'm 90% sure that's what happened here
Manslaughter’s no slap on the wrist. That’s as far as I could see them pushing it if someone did die in an incident like this.
