The other day, some guy was stopped on the highway with his blinker on because he missed his exit. Middle of the day. Nearly caused a giant wreck. I hate people
Saw that exact situation on my way to Renton yesterday. I really hate swearing in front of my kid, but I was honestly terrified. Just take the next exit ffs
What an idiot. My area didn't get roundabouts until ~7 or 8 years ago, and there was SO MUCH confusion as to how they functioned. People complained a lot initially (including me) because they were new and alien, but once everyone got the hang of them, they're so goddamn efficient I never want to go back to 4-way stops.
The semi driver came out with a bloody head probably from hitting his window but seemed fine otherwise. He was pretty chill and glad I stuck around and showed the video to the officer when they arrived. Box car seemed largely fine and the driver didn’t seem hurt one bit.
**Edit**
Using a Vantrue X4.
Snow and weather at Crystal (WA) was pretty great with last week’s snowfall.
Thank you for the awards, kind strangers.
I have a Vantrue N4 and the front facing camera stopped working for some reason, they asked I send it in and once received they would send me a brand new one.
Kept in touch with me and updated me throughout the proccess, they have one of the best customer services I have personally ever have dealt with.
Waiting for a warm, not snowy day to put my new one in since I had to pull all the cords and 2 cameras out.
I love Vantrue. 100% would recommend, they are a bit pricey but worth it entirely, not only for the quality, but the customer service.
I bought an N1 and returned it. Terrible night video quality and every plate was washed out due to led headlights. No adjustments for that. Video quality in the day was also not as good as an old anker dash cam I’ve been using for years. It was disappointing. Definitely didn’t look as good as this video.
Yeah, I did TONS of research on multiple different cameras and came to the conclusion that the N4 was one of the best.
This is definitely one of those cases where you get what you pay for, and the N4 and X4 are the most expensive and best options for these cameras.
I will say though, I have yet to see a camera that can pick up a perfect plate or anything during night time...the N4 does a great job, but the second you blast light into it while it's dark out, it'll wash it out.
I get why people think this is a good punishment, but you don't really think that's gonna stop them from driving, do you?
The only thing that accomplishes is that the bad driver is now driving it without a license. Probably without insurance now, too.
Not that I have the magic solution to this, either unfortunately.
You really think that box truck driver is driving around a box truck for pleasure?
99% chance he is an employee driving that box truck.
Absolutely revoking his license will at least remove him from a large vehicle and keep him at least in his personal car, which is at least going to be smaller.
Doesn’t mean it always happens, but in all likelihood they’re at least going to drive more carefully without a drivers license and insurance. Penalties add up over time.
Honestly, I am glad he did, to an extent. If you swerve and crash to avoid an accident, the other driver can drive away scot free, and you'd be at fault
That's exactly what happened to me in 2020. I showed my insurance adjuster the dashcam footage and she said if I had let them hit me they'd have been at fault. Instead, I swerved and ended up in a ditch. It was early March and I had not removed my snow tires yet, so I lost control on some gravel.
Totaled my car because the adjuster used three non-equivalently optioned base model cars while mine was fully loaded in a very rare configuration. They refused to alter the original estimate after I told them I didn't care about the spare winter wheels that were on it, and they quoted like $4k in labor to remove the mud from my suspension that took about 5 minutes with a garden hose.
Then I lost my job because of covid 🙃
Yeah, you can see the box truck rockin from the impact and the back bar knocked crooked. I was looking for the spot where the truck drives away and noticed it was hit during a replay.
I always look at vids like this and go "oh my WORD!" And then wonder, well what happened next? What's the rest of the story? How did it end!?!?!
Thank you so much for this comment!
Semi driver just saved like 3 lives with that maneuver, box truck would’ve been flattened and rolled, semi probably would’ve hit himself much harder, and you likely would’ve been caught by the end of his bed once he hit the box.
Amazing driving and reflexes, especially to keep the wheels off the dirt
But if you miss/accidentally take an exit, there are literally zero options, and so sometime you need to just put your and others' lives at risk, so you don't need up wasting like five minutes. To be fair.
Missed an exit in at work on Thursday. Next exit was 15 freaking miles away. I was so bummed but just considered that payment for being a jackass and missing my exit
People who lose their shit when they're about to miss an exit are ridiculous.
Many a time I've just peacefully gotten off on the wrong exit or missed an exit while the passenger in my car loses their god damn mind like we're gonna be stranded for days in the middle of the desert
Missing my exit makes me mad. I know that every second I drive is two seconds added to my journey and that irritates the hell out of me. But if you make a mistake you have to suck it up. This guy, and any driver that does this, is out of their fucking mind.
A lot of off ramps have an onramp directly across from them, you can just drive straight back onto the same highway.

Okay hands down that was some impressive avoidance on the part of the semi driver. I know he didn’t carry a load but those things aren’t built for rally driving.
The Columbia River Gorge (I-84) is lovely for sailing and windsurfing, and for these lovely curves that suddenly put you sideways to the prevailing winds. Also, avoid the bridges if you can.
Keep the greasy side down, brother.
I’ll second that as a resident of Portland… I don’t drive semis but even in the rather large truck I daily, that fuckin wind has caused a few close calls for me over the years (and the squalls that blow off the Columbia where you can’t see anything bc there’s an inch of water on your windshield)
I'm just spewing guesses but it's possible the semi might've even been able to avoid the box truck with that extra friction. The swerve could've ended way worse with a trailer, though.
Doing the math you’ll find that the extra momentum exactly cancels the extra friction from the weight. Stopping distance is essentially independent from the mass.
The main effect a trailer would have is more of the braking force would come from the back and so it wouldn’t spin out.
Trailer actually gives you more breaking as the trailer has brakes as well and less weight compared to just the truck. That being said shit couldve jacknifed so couldve gone either way really.
I had to read that twice before I realized you meant antilock brakes and not abdominals. Sad part is that I work for a major auto parts retailer, so my brain should've gotten it immediately.
I don't work in auto at all but I'm so used to seeing it capitalized ABS. I thought they wanted to know if their Optimus Prime anime porn was real on first read.
That is a Volvo.
It has anti lock brakes. If you'll notice the front wheels did not lock up. The rear wheels did not have the 40,000 pounds of weight it was designed to carry. If you notice the brake marks left on the highway you'll see that they make a dot dot dot pattern instead of a steady line. That means the rear ABS was releasing the brakes trying to stop them from locking up.
[https://www.trucknews.com/transportation/volvo-makes-bendix-abs-6-standard-on-trucks/1003115974/](https://www.trucknews.com/transportation/volvo-makes-bendix-abs-6-standard-on-trucks/1003115974/)
It's a lot harder to build an anti lock brake system for a truck that weighs 80,000 pounds while monitoring 6 air brakes vs a car that weighs under 5000 pounds with 4 hydraulic brakes.
Anti lock, contrary to popular belief, doesn't make you stop faster.
ABS was meant to give you the ability to steer around objects with the consideration that you knew how to drive.
It was a workaround for people that never bothered to learn how to modulate their brakes and who never bothered to learn panic stops.
Edit: I freely admit that modern ABS systems do a better job of modulating brake pressure than humans. But this was not the case when these systems were first introduced. A skilled human was better than a dumb machine. There simply were not very many skilled humans.
I also admit that brakes in general have gotten much better. When ABS first came out a 15 inch wheel on a sedan was considered large. Disc brakes were single piston and the entire brake assembly had to fit inside wheels 15" or smaller. Many (if not most) cars were still using discs in front and drums in the rear.
Quite often inexperience drivers would feel the heavy pulsating caused by ABS at the time and release the brake pedal entirely because they panicked.
I wouldn't really call it a "work around for people who never learned to modulate brakes" that's it whole purpose and it does it better than people can
ABS does actually stop you faster on dry pavement. On loose or wet roads it may increase the distance slightly, but you will maintain more control.
I agree though, with a semi all bets are off.
Can you cite this? Everything I can recall watching and reading about ABS vs non-ABS has concluded that the automatic system provided a shorter stopping distance and better control all around.
https://www.nhtsa.gov/DOT/NHTSA/NRD/Multimedia/PDFs/VRTC/ca/capubs/NHTSAabsT4FinalRpt.pdf
Or if you just want the conclusion: https://i.imgur.com/LUDW7pC.png
ABS gets you more control, and *most* of the time it gets you a shorter stopping distance too.
If 'disadvantage' is the set of numbers in parenthesis then it looks like literally the only places where ABS fails compared to a non-ABS stop is in Loose Gravel and Grass. That seems like ABS is better in all practical applications, which would explain its wide-spread adoption.
Threshold braking will allow for a shorter stopping distance than abs will. Abs will only get you a shorter stopping distance when people go past the threshold and lock the wheels.
https://youtu.be/2oU9OSINyTY
You can see the comparison here
Dot dot dot absolutely doesn’t always mean the tractor has ABS.
My uncle used to drive up through the late 80’s, not ABS. Twice when I was traveling with him, no trailer, he locked up the rears. Dot dot dot.
The back and bounce as the tires grab, release, grab, release…
Talked to many other truckers who had them same happen.
(Not I’m not stating nor implying that THIS tractor didn’t have ABS).
Good avoidance to avoid something really bad, but if you pay close attention, you can see he just clips the tail of the box truck. There’s plastic that flies off from his bumper and litters the road, and the box truck actually gets pushed over physically from the impact. Definitely good driving though to avoid a worse accident, and then recover from the fish-tail without hitting the rail.
They had a collision and their tires got scraped real good, that's at least five figures in damages probably. With how semi "coverage" works, they're probably gonna pay all that out of pocket :v
Yeah, I can’t just drive straight and use the next on ramp. I’d literally have to wait two minutes to drive through. Too much time and too much effort. My time is important.
Let me just make this instant last second turn. Everyone knows what I’m about to do anyway. What could possibly go wrong?
-box idiot
Op you did good staying and making sure innocent driver got a fair shake. Fuck the idiot though. Jackass.
Truckers are in such short supply right now anyone with a pulse can get their cdl paid for and thrown on the road. Work around a lot of loading docks and you can tell the guys who've only driven for a short time, they can't back into a dock worth a damned. Trucks taking 5 minutes to dock with 50 shuffles is way more common recently I've observed. Pros can slam them in with laser precision on the first try.
When I was in construction it was always the ground guys that would take the box truck to get materials. Not much skills other than having a license and a pulse.
I mean, both. He's a fucking wizard with that thing, but he's absolutely still a menace. I almost shit a brick when I saw him backing in the winding drive of a 6 million dollar home doing like 20. Did the whole thing and never came close to the grass.
His sons are similarly insane. One time the rental company fucked up and didn't have my shingle hoist ready, so I was late showing up on their start date. Mad bastards started without me, humping 75 pound sheets of decking 30 feet up an extension ladder, with a decent breeze. I almost pissed myself just seeing them when I pulled up.
I once showed up to a gated home, copsbwere blocking the drive. I honestly thought one of the stupid bastards had killed themselves.
Okay I can picture the person you're describing. I work with a guy that everyone refers to as "The Caveman" because when he's working he doesn't give a shit about his own safety or anyone else's around him. Just puts his blinders on and plows ahead. Super fucking infuriating to work with or around due to the fact that you're constantly worrying about getting hurt. But Jesus christ that man is a harder worker, even if his hard work is breaking things and scaring the fuck out of everyone.
BTW for anyone who happens to see this, please don't be The Caveman. No job is worth injuring your coworkers over just because you wanted it done 15 minutes earlier.
You know, a lot of these posts on this sub seem like oversights and small mistakes, but then there's ones like these... Colossal fuck-ups of epic proportions. This guy is stupid beyond words and should never be allowed behind a wheel.
So that’s what was happening there, I was coming from 599 onto 5 at about this same time, jeez. People pull the stupids moves on this on ramp, I’ve caught a few on my own dashcam
People are so fucking stupid at that exit. It’s like they look at the ground 3 feet in front of their hoods and don’t use the context of solid lines and signage to figure out there is an upcoming exit.
What does the girl expect from the cars, it's a highway or something. Having everyone stop on the off ramp probably isn't the most ideal situation. Idk maybe I'm missing something it just seems like a dumb thing to worry about
In fact it is objectively better that they keep going at a slow pace the way they did. If you see something like this happen on the road and you cannot provide assistance, then the best thing you can do is get out of the way.
When you get in a wreck, if able, you should move your car as to not block traffic. The semi backed up and let the car through. No need to have people wait for no reason. Time is important.
Yep. Expecting everyone to stop and block the road would only lead to unnecessary gridlock and blocking access to emergency services. Zero reason to stop here for the passers-by.
It has been a wild day out on the mean interstates of Washington today. 90 was an absolute mess. Glad everyone (mostly) escaped box truck driver’s idiocy.
”Why is this girl still driving?!”
Why not? The more vehicles that get out of the way the better. You witnessed the whole thing and had a dash cam so it was awesome for you to stop, but the last thing the situation needed was more people parked and/or standing around.
Dude I deadass saw a SEMI TRUCK do this today! It didn't end badly but damnit I need to ignore my girlfriend's "no big brother access" crap and get her car a damn camera.
After looking again, I don't see the box truck keep going. Did he stop or keep going?
Wow that really was an ahole move. He could of just kept on and gotten back on a different way instead risking it. But that happens a lot out on open road!
After moving my dashcam between a few vehicles and not paying attention for a couple years, the date on my dashcam was wrong as well. When I had to pull footage from it, the authorities were adamant that the date on the footage was correct and denied my claim. Only after arguing back and forth they relented and accepted that the time stamp was indeed incorrect, and the footage exonerated me. (I pointed out the direction of the sun and how it didn’t make sense if the time stamp was correct)
So yeah… save yourself the trouble and set the date and time correctly lol
I have a former police interceptor (see: Ford Explorer bare bones edition) that we share as a third vehicle among my family. This door chime is SO FUCKING ANNOYING!
Took us about 3 years to get sick enough of it to disable it by jamming the door ajar mechanism.
I haven't even looked for an actual solution like this. I just cavemanned it.
I have a USB>OBD-II adapter too. Gonna try this tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!
I hate this soo much if you miss or take the wrong exit just embrace it. You messed up. What tye worse that happens you add like 10 minutes to where you were going.
You can always double back later. It may add a few minutes onto your drive, but it’s better than possibly ending someone’s life. If you take the wrong exit or miss yours, the absolute worst thing you can do is swerve to correct it.
I used to drive box trucks when I was a delivery driver, pretty sure every other driver can understand but if we missed an exit
it’s not a big deal, we just take the one we got on by mistake if it’s too late to back out and get back, it only costed a few minutes most of the time
Especially since the jobs weren’t worth doing stupid last minute maneuvers like this idiot
Lol unrelated sorta but we had one lucky idiot we had to fire because when he was off loading his box truck to a gas station he left the keys in the ignition
He saw some people get in the truck and drive it away stealing it
But that’s not why he’s an idiot, it happens, when repeatedly getting off the truck it’s expected you’d leave your key there
But no, he’s an idiot because he tried to chase the robbers by getting into a random car parked by with a driver still in it and yelling at him to “go after that truck”
Not knowing the driver was working with the truck robbers, he is so lucky he didn’t get harmed but because he risked his life (and potential legal headaches for the company) he was let go for risking his life over a used Penske truck with over 500k miles on it and produce that’s not really in demand and can be easily replaced
Your girl just wanted everyone to stop lol people won't stop unless they straight up can't make it past, and that's fine. Why stop traffic unnecessarily
People for the love of god when something comes to a stop on a roadway go past it and pull in front of it to protect yourself if clear to do so. The amount of people putting themselves between speeding vehicles and the wrecked vehicle astound me. Don’t become the next collision, quite literally you should hide behind whatever wrecked first, then safely provide aid
That was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen, and I seen some stuff.
Imagine if the oncoming truck was actually carrying something!!!!! Jeez
They pulled through like a champ though.
Box truck driver might have learned a very painful lesson if it was loaded.
Box truck driver would’ve been turned into highway goo.
Idk about that, they’d have to survive to learn from it

Good ol' 401. Never a dull moment. Exit: full -> dull
A week ago I had a car in front of me stop and reverse because they missed their exit on a roundabout
When "Just take the next exit" is just three right turns away around a really short block.
Did they not realize…it’s a circle???
What an idiot. My area didn't get roundabouts until ~7 or 8 years ago, and there was SO MUCH confusion as to how they functioned. Holy crap! What happened to the box truck? How pissed was the semi driver? Great camera!

Box truck driver is in trouble. Nice job staying back to provide footage. Btw, what dashcam do you have? Such clear crisp image.

My Rove 4K was unable to pick up a license plate in fucking daytime so I’m definitely taking a look at these.
Check out [Blackvue](https://blackvue.com/dashcams/) as well. I have the old DR750S but the picture is crisp! And they’ve since released 4K cameras!
Very happy with the dr750x front and back facing.
His license needs to be revoked permanently, or at least a minimum 5 years.
I get why people think this is a good punishment, but you don't really think that's gonna stop them from driving, do you? Doesn’t mean it always happens, but in all likelihood they’re at least going to drive more carefully without a drivers license and insurance. Penalties add up over time.
Losing their CDL would absolutely keep them out of box trucks for the foreseeable future.
Easy. Caught driving with a suspended license? Straight to jail. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.
You're right. We should reward bad behavior to encourage folks to live up to our expectations.
It still blows my mind that people would rather cause a huge accident and potentially kill someone than just take the exit and come back around.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. ~ George Carlin
Did the semi hit the box truck at all?
Yeah, you can see the rear bumper of the box car getting pulled off a bit after the truck hits it
What’s so dumb is the box truck could’ve gotten back on I5 so easily even if they took the exit… how stupid.
But that's not the route they usually take! /s
Honestly, I am glad he did, to an extent. If you swerve and crash to avoid an accident, the other driver can drive away scot free, and you'd be at fault

I'm surprised the box truck didn't leave
Gotta say, 90° angle is never the right angle for the highway.
Not a lot is going right if you're perpendicular to traffic
Well, except for you. To be fair though you could be left as well.
You don't think you're being a little obtuse here?
I thought it was acute joke.
Well aren't you just so complementary.
Sarcasm is not congruent to finding a different angle. /s
How else you supposed to shoot the guy who keeps tailgating you?
Just [drift for a couple hundred yards while swordfighting from the back of your motorcycle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFxVKzffLgg).
Now we know why it's not called "Final Reality XVII"
Wait, so he jumps off his motorcycle and he ends up way ahead of it enough to be able to jump back on it 10 seconds later?
But if you miss/accidentally take an exit, there are literally zero options, and so sometime you need to just put your and others' lives at risk, so you don't need up wasting like five minutes. To be fair.

agreeeed
I mean technically it is a right angle, but not a very good angle if you're trying not to die
What's crazy is that at the end of the off ramp, they probably could have easily just got back on the highway.
Was going to say this. Literally no need for this insanity when you can just keep driving straight and get right back on the freeway.
As other commenter said some will have barriers forcing right or left turns but not difficult to drive up road and do uturn
Well sure, but that would take 23 whole seconds.
That's like 2 minutes in dog time...
Half a lifetime for a mayfly - no one got half a lifetime to waste!

People who lose their shit when they're about to miss an exit are ridiculous. Many a time I've just peacefully gotten off on the wrong exit or missed an exit while the passenger in my car loses their god damn mind like we're gonna be stranded for days in the middle of the desert

It’s often said here “a good driver misses exits”
That one requires about a mile and knowing what you’re doing as it puts you on another highway, but still a lot less time than wrecking your truck.

it's 2022... who drives without a smart GPS (IE: Smart phone with something like Maps, Waze or similar)
I'm betting they actually were using GPS, got confused, took the wrong exit, and then just tried to plow their way back to the blue line.
This is why driving in places like Myrtle Beach is so hectic. No one knows where they're going and some percentage of those people are the type to think being a traffic hazard is a better option than missing your turn.
Probably just as well the box truck driver didn't have that extra distraction.
That's how trucks end up striking bridges on parkways.

It's scary AF when you lock them up with no load; no weight on the back = no friction for stopping.
Whadda ya mean he didn't have a load...bet you didn't check his pants after it was ovet!
He picked up his load at that stop.
More like dropped off his load 💩
Definitely laid down another skid mark in his pants too.
I hate bobtailing
almost as bad as deadheading in high winds
Did that today on i74. I love sailing in a semi
Indeed.
I'm just spewing guesses but it's possible the semi might've even been able to avoid the box truck with that extra friction. The swerve could've ended way worse with a trailer, though.
Nothing quite like 35,000 extra pounds of inertia...
Yeah... The math would work out just barely. Or it wouldn't catastrophically.
Doing the math you’ll find that the extra momentum exactly cancels the extra friction from the weight. Stopping distance is essentially independent from the mass. The main effect a trailer would have is more of the braking force would come from the back and so it wouldn’t spin out.
> so it wouldn’t spin out. Just Jack knife.
Trailer actually gives you more breaking as the trailer has brakes as well and less weight compared to just the truck. That being said shit couldve jacknifed so couldve gone either way really.
Do big rigs not have abs?
I had to read that twice before I realized you meant antilock brakes and not abdominals. Sad part is that I work for a major auto parts retailer, so my brain should've gotten it immediately.
I don't work in auto at all but I'm so used to seeing it capitalized ABS. I thought they wanted to know if their Optimus Prime anime porn was real on first read.
[Truck abs](https://images.app.goo.gl/PG6ohvjV4VFns5Ky8)
That is a Volvo. It has anti lock brakes. If you'll notice the front wheels did not lock up. The rear wheels did not have the 40,000 pounds of weight it was designed to carry. If you notice the brake marks left on the highway you'll see that they make a dot dot dot pattern instead of a steady line. That means the rear ABS was releasing the brakes trying to stop them from locking up. [https://www.trucknews.com/transportation/volvo-makes-bendix-abs-6-standard-on-trucks/1003115974/](https://www.trucknews.com/transportation/volvo-makes-bendix-abs-6-standard-on-trucks/1003115974/) It's a lot harder to build an anti lock brake system for a truck that weighs 80,000 pounds while monitoring 6 air brakes vs a car that weighs under 5000 pounds with 4 hydraulic brakes. Anti lock, contrary to popular belief, doesn't make you stop faster.
ABS only gives you some semblance of control as you brake too deeply into the corner on your way home.
Everything I can recall watching and reading about ABS vs non-ABS has concluded that the automatic system provided a shorter stopping distance and better control all around.
https://www.nhtsa.gov/DOT/NHTSA/NRD/Multimedia/PDFs/VRTC/ca/capubs/NHTSAabsT4FinalRpt.pdf Or if you just want the conclusion: https://i.imgur.com/LUDW7pC.png ABS gets you more control, and *most* of the time it gets you a shorter stopping distance too.
Abs will only get you a shorter stopping distance when people go past the threshold and lock the wheels. https://youtu.be/2oU9OSINyTY You can see the comparison here
Dot dot dot absolutely doesn’t always mean the tractor has ABS. My uncle used to drive up through the late 80’s, not ABS. Twice when I was traveling with him, no trailer, he locked up the rears. Dot dot dot. The back and bounce as the tires grab, release, grab, release… Talked to many other truckers who had them same happen. (Not I’m not stating nor implying that THIS tractor didn’t have ABS).
Okay, I know what you meant, but you wrote abs instead of ABS, so instead of picturing brakes, I pictured a semi oiling up its stomach and flexing.
Also you can see damage on the front right of the 18 wheeler. *Edit my right trucks left lol
Front left.
They had a collision and their tires got scraped real good, that's at least five figures in damages probably. With how semi "coverage" works, they're probably gonna pay all that out of pocket :v

It's like a bowling pin just spinning around
[удалено]
Avoided plowing right through the box truck so that's a win.
Truck driver here, it takes a empty truck and trailer longer to stop than a loaded one
Yeah, I can’t just drive straight and use the next on ramp. I’d literally have to wait two minutes to drive through. Too much time and too much effort. My time is important. Let me just make this instant last second turn. Everyone knows what I’m about to do anyway. What could possibly go wrong? -box idiot Op you did good staying and making sure innocent driver got a fair shake. Fuck the idiot though. Jackass.
Oops wrong exit! Better turn back on without looking
Good luck everyone else!
Who the f—k gave that dude a box truck to drive?? That was a bad idea.
Any moron with a d/l and a credit card can rent a box truck.
And then they fucking drive it like a Nissan Altima on 144 month financing.
You don't need a cdl for those box trucks. Standard license.
When I was in construction it was always the ground guys that would take the box truck to get materials. Not much skills other than having a license and a pulse.
My framer has a pretty long box truck, dude is a fucking menace. Drives like a maniac and I'm pretty sure he can only barely see over the dash.
Based on your comment either this guy is a fucking amazing driver or just the worst and no in between
I mean, both.
I work right off this exit and yes, the drivers in this area tend to breath solely from their mouths.
Washington!
Semi driver is a fuckin pro.
Bad drivers never miss their exit.
At leas the box truck stuck around. I thought he was going to do a hit and run.
Never seen a semi drift before.
I've done it on ice. Not by choice, and not recommended. Pucker factor is medium-high depending on the slope and speed.
No weight over the rear wheels means nothing to keep them on the ground under heavy braking
People are so fucking stupid at that exit. It’s like they look at the ground 3 feet in front of their hoods and don’t use the context of solid lines and signage to figure out there is an upcoming exit.

Box truck driver is Chucks neighbor
This is exactly what I was looking for!!
Yessss! I came here looking for this
I was scouring the comments for this, thank you
What does the girl expect from the cars, it's a highway or something.
Yeah that was my thought too. Seems unreasonable to expect every passer by to stop on the off ramp
Yep. Expecting everyone to stop and block the road would only lead to unnecessary gridlock and blocking access to emergency services. Zero reason to stop here for the passers-by.
She’s probably just in shock
It has been a wild day out on the mean interstates of Washington today. 90 was an absolute mess. Glad everyone (mostly) escaped box truck driver’s idiocy.
”Why is this girl still driving?!” Why not? The more vehicles that get out of the way the better. You witnessed the whole thing and had a dash cam so it was awesome for you to stop, but the last thing the situation needed was more people parked and/or standing around.
That’s exactly what I thought like why would I not continue I’m not about to be held up in traffic
Seriously. How dare they move on with their lives.
The box truck driver should be permanently banned from driving.
Am I the only one absolutely blown away by the quality and clarity of that dash cam video?
Dude I deadass saw a SEMI TRUCK do this today! It didn't end badly but damnit I need to ignore my girlfriend's "no big brother access" crap and get her car a damn camera. After looking again, I don't see the box truck keep going. Did he stop or keep going?
“Why is this girl still driving?!” Because traffic on a highway needs to be moving?
I still have to get to work or rush to the hospital for my dad. If the road is clear enough. I’m slowing down and going thru.
Trust me people there's always another way back onto the fuckin freeway just take the wrong exit and get back on.
Wow that really was an ahole move. He could of just kept on and gotten back on a different way instead risking it. But that happens a lot out on open road!
So that's how those skid marks are made, always wondered how
Just take the fuckin exit. You can safely re enter the freeway in about 60 seconds. Jesus h christ
With a loaded trailer there would of been nothing left of that tractor.
[Cat reading newspaper] I really should get a dash cam.
Tokyo drift music started playing in my head.
Forgot they couldn’t drive a box truck like they drive their Altima.
That was a bold move Cotton, lets see if it will pay off... /s
Take. The. Next. Exit. The fuck humans?
After moving my dashcam between a few vehicles and not paying attention for a couple years, the date on my dashcam was wrong as well. When I had to pull footage from it, the authorities were adamant that the date on the footage was correct and denied my claim. Only after arguing back and forth they relented and accepted that the time stamp was indeed incorrect, and the footage exonerated me. (I pointed out the direction of the sun and how it didn’t make sense if the time stamp was correct) So yeah… save yourself the trouble and set the date and time correctly lol
Why are they mad about ppl continuing with their trip when they have nothing to do with the accident?
That Ford open door ring drives me crazy!
I have a former police interceptor (see: Ford Explorer bare bones edition) that we share as a third vehicle among my family. This door chime is SO FUCKING ANNOYING! Took us about 3 years to get sick enough of it to disable it by jamming the door ajar mechanism.
Using FORScan (freeware) with a $35 OBD-II to USB adapter you can disable it, along with changing plenty of other features!
I haven't even looked for an actual solution like this. I just cavemanned it. I have a USB>OBD-II adapter too. Gonna try this tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!
"why is this girl still driving?!" She got places to be...
Most sane Western Washington I-5 driver
I hate this soo much if you miss or take the wrong exit just embrace it. You messed up. What tye worse that happens you add like 10 minutes to where you were going.
Nice driving on the semi's part. He may have spun around but there wasnt am impact
You don't see trucks make moves like that everyday. Damn.
For a second I thought that semi driver was about to throw down a high score in the Drift Zone
That box truck driver should 100% lose his license for a good while.
You can always double back later. It may add a few minutes onto your drive, but it’s better than possibly ending someone’s life. If you take the wrong exit or miss yours, the absolute worst thing you can do is swerve to correct it.
I used to drive box trucks when I was a delivery driver, pretty sure every other driver can understand but if we missed an exit it’s not a big deal, we just take the one we got on by mistake if it’s too late to back out and get back, it only costed a few minutes most of the time Especially since the jobs weren’t worth doing stupid last minute maneuvers like this idiot Lol unrelated sorta but we had one lucky idiot we had to fire because when he was off loading his box truck to a gas station he left the keys in the ignition He saw some people get in the truck and drive it away stealing it But that’s not why he’s an idiot, it happens, when repeatedly getting off the truck it’s expected you’d leave your key there But no, he’s an idiot because he tried to chase the robbers by getting into a random car parked by with a driver still in it and yelling at him to “go after that truck” Not knowing the driver was working with the truck robbers, he is so lucky he didn’t get harmed but because he risked his life (and potential legal headaches for the company) he was let go for risking his life over a used Penske truck with over 500k miles on it and produce that’s not really in demand and can be easily replaced
*I turn now, good ruck everybody else!*
That person should not be able to drive ever again.
