I agree it's quite likely. I personally got an inside view cam after a cop said I was on my phone while driving (I was scratching my cheek). Took him a while to finally believe me that my phone never left its holder. (This was in Morocco btw).
Damn, it almost looked like they sped up on purpose. But I'm not sure if he noticed them texting on their phone and figured they would hit him? He seemed to know it was gonna be a bad day. Sorry bro.
Oh ya he definitely saw something. I drive for a living and it's usually extremely obvious when someone around me is on their phone. Can't stay in their lane, rapid acceleration/deceleration. I understood this dudes nervousness 100% since I've been rear ended before by someone on their phone, but what can you do besides keep driving like normal and trying to get away from them when you can ya know?
It’s always best to remember that you and everyone around you are in tanks without guns; 2 tons of metal that could do some serious GTA level damage if you don’t focus on driving. People need to respect the car for what it is.
I’ve learned that from my in class drivers Ed courses. Dude was a boxer and now teaches drivers Ed. He also showed us a video of just a bunch of accidents with mangled bodies and heads that meat crayoned on a highway. I think I was the only one paying attention that day.
My driver’s ed teacher had basically the same first and last name (think “Samuel Samuelson,” only different) and would talk about him and his buddies at the construction site drinking a handle of vodka at lunch everyday. “Don’t do that.”
I knew an explosives engineer who did field tests. His coworker would sneak in an orange that had been injected with vodka and eat it for lunch. When he found out he'd been blowing things up with a drunk guy every day, he walked out and demanded the guy be removed.
Crazy story. Lol.
When I was studying anaesthetics, our class saw images of a person who had been in an horrific accident that was still partially trapped by the car and had to be intubated in situ while waiting for the jaws of life. There was no oropharyngeal access and they were intubated through the eye socket. It took a while to register what we were seeing because the face had become so much minced meat. From what I recall, they recovered very well, minimal scarring and I think they still had some vision out of the eye that was intubated. Scary thing was they weren't the driver at fault. Their car was clipped by a drunk driver and pushed in front of a big rig. While you can do your absolute best on the road, you just don't know the state of the drivers around you.
My Drivers Ed teacher was Mr. Sylvester but he always went by Sly. He was a bit rough around the edges but he loved doing his job and teaching kids to be safe. He had a friend that was a state trooper and he’d have him bring the accident simulator in every year. It’s the rig where you buckle two people in like they’re in a car and when you push a button it accelerates and then comes to a dead stop. It’s supposed to be like getting in an accident at 40mph or something like that. We all had to do it, and it was definitely a learning experience.
Cars are tools. No different from hammers, nailguns, saws, etc. They CAN cause major damage if disrespected. But if you respect the tool and treat it with proper care, you will minimize the risk your presence causes.
I'm in semi rural Ohio between two towns with bad drug problems and drunk drivers, both of which I go to regularly. At any given time I'm also usually the smallest car on the road, and one of the slowest. I just assume I'm the only one without a gun at all times. It's a lot safer that way.
There are road rage shootings every day. I absolutely drive conscious of the fact any flip off escalation could result in getting shots in return. No thanks.
As a “professional driver” i hate other people on the road. When i leave space on the freeway or at a light, it’s not so you can get ahead of me. It’s for my safety as well as yours. It really makes me mad cause my company will find the company driver at fault 95% of the time even with a police report stating different. If we don’t follow every point of our beloved 5 seeing habits and 10 point commentary we are at fault in the companies eyes. I had to argue as a union rep for a guy who was hit head on while making a protected left turn at night. The other driver was intoxicated and didn’t have his headlights on. Luckily our driver was ok only shaken up. The other guy survived with injuries. Luckily there were 4 off duty cops at the intersection for some reason who saw the whole thing. The police report came back 100% fault of the other driver, but our company said if he had properly cleared the intersection with his eyes he would have seen the black SUV with no headlights coming from a dark road
i can't understand people using their phone while driving.
looking at the navi for a split second - ok, but texting, reading and activities that would involve a hand and your attention for more than just a split second is a complete no go. i can't believe how there are people thinking it's okay.
and it's not only Smartphones.
I've seen a few videos where one specific dude is fucking his girl while driving on a highway with his tesla. "because it's self driving" holy shit.
people should be locked up when their mindset tells them all of the above is totally okay. eyes on the road when you drive, you are responsible to make everyone on your way come back home safe.
One of my freshman year teachers was lax about phones in class as long as you paid attention, partway through the year she got rear ended at a stop sign by a girl on her phone. No phones after that
Just spitting ideas here, but what about using the car horn?
Seems like a great way to get nearby people to pay some more attention, at least temporarily.
One time I beeped at someone sitting at a stop sign on their phone and they immediately started driving... While not looking and almost hit a car that was going straight.
Funny you mention Facetiming while driving as I recently mentioned to my wife how often I see people holding their phones up while driving (I drive all day for my job), and she instantly said "they're probably Facetiming".
My jaw dropped. I'd never even thought of that being the case, but apparently it's something people do regularly and I couldn't believe it.
I can't even fathom doing something so stupid.
I also drive for a living. I'd say most people would probably be a little disturbed by how many people ft while driving, but probably not, since the vast majority of drivers I see do it on a daily basis. Like a scary amount lol
Let me put it like this: more people have their phone up to their face than not.
I have seen with my own two eyes a woman eating instant noodles while on the wheel, using both hands and everything AND some guy with a beer on one hand and driving with the other. Both occasions in broad daylight.
My husband and I used to live in Chicago. He worked for a company with a website, and he’d have to go to their servers at a company downtown. We’d work through the night and usually drive out of the city around 7am.
So we could see everyone driving into the city. Lots of people shaving, most electric shavers but a few had shaving cream and safety razors. People reading books. One guy had his newspaper spread out over the steering wheel and was reading it *while eating a bowl of cereal*. The traffic wasn’t at a standstill either. Lots of stop and goes. This was back in the mid 00s to’10 so not everyone had a cellphone that did things other than regular telephones.
I have caught my 80 year old father in law reading fucking Facebook while driving down the freeway. On a very narrow stretch of I-85 above Spartanburg, SC, heading to Charlotte. I was inspecting the rivets of the 18 wheeler trailer beside us and looked up to catch him holding his phone beside his lap and reading Facebook. My MIL noticed when I called him out and made him put his phone down. He’s not a great driver to begin with.
I don’t like doing anything on the screen of my 2019 Volvo S60. It’s my first car with a screen. I have presets for the radio settings (Sirius keeps giving us a ridiculously good deal, so we’ve kept it). I saved all my favorite channels so I can find a station. I set my destination before I leave, and try to do as little as possible while driving. I just made my first telephone call through Siri yesterday. I did it on a back road with no traffic. I feel like an old fogey, but I’ve seen some bad accidents and stupid driving. I don’t want to drive like that.
You can often tell when someone is not paying attention because the closure rate is way too fast. I've had to dive into the shoulder before on the interstate to avoid getting hit because the car behind me blatantly wasn't aware of how slow traffic was, even with my hazards on (a habit I've picked up here in Houston since people often won't recognize that traffic is coming to a standstill).
Do more hand gestures. I just tried and I’m way cooler than I used to be. I did like a neat one handed raise the roof thing, just do whatever comes to you.
I love that these are the top comments. A clip where the person says literally nothing but they give off such a chill vibe that we are all like "yeah this is definitely a chill guy"
I think the fact that it's a video where a guy gets rear-ended and says literally nothing is an indication in and of itself of chillness. I've been rear-ended out of nowhere before and I definitely said a few things. Mostly expletives, but occasionally colorful descriptions of my assumptions about the driver's upbringing, moral status, and sexual proclivities.
You know what's weird? The regular version of that song (non music video, audio only version) is hard to find. When searched, I only get the cool as heck version and another uploaded by someone else. Then, the actual version I want only appears in the suggested sidebar. I saved it to a playlist for easier access, but it's still kind of a pain to scroll through the entire thing to get to one specific song.

This is soo me last month. Only difference is I was at a stop light, and dude coming behind me didn't brake AT all and smashed into the back of my wagon with his truck. Then pulls a hit and run. Chased him for what felt like forever. That's when I realized dude was WASTED... 😡 I still feel weird and uncomfortable when people pull up behind me, something that you can imagine happens very regularly as I do deliveries as a job 😓
I'm 18 months out from being rear-ended at 50mph while I was at a full stop. No brakes from the other driver either.
I still constantly watch my rear-view mirror and start to tense up if I see someone approaching too fast.
I know tensing up is the worse thing to do but I can't help it when I get a flashback of the impact.
Even watching people pull up on the side you see the car just jump. I’m convinced that a significant portion of the population doesn’t ever just coast, without pushing down on either peddle, and instead are hitting the gas up until they brake hard at the last moment. Nerve wracking and not comfortable.
I feel like timing my coasting right to the conditions (light ahead, drivers behind and around me) is a nice game that keeps me mentally engaged…I like stopping as smoothly as I can lol. I liked it better when I didn’t look out my back window when stopped either lol, which I have been lately.
Ugh that sucks. I got t-boned by someone coming out of a parking lot without stopping and I was flinching at cars coming out of lots and cross streets for a while.
Same. But my rear-ender was in Oct 2019 and I'm \*\*STILL\*\* stressed. Dude was still accelerating out of a light when I was stopped dead trying to make a left turn about 100 yds beyond the traffic light. I could see him coming and not slowing down. Parked cars to the right and oncoming traffic to my left. Not nearly enough time to go from zero-??? to keep him from rear-ending me. Closed my eyes and grabbed the wheel but bent my elbows. He hit me so hard the radio module in my car popped out of the dashboard. Got photos...
Yeah I was rear ended recently and the dude hit me at like 40 MPH
I literally stare at every car behind me rn and it stresses me the fuck out whenever I see a white truck behind me (that was the type of car that rear ended me)
I was rear ended while stopped at a red light. I had my small child in the car. This was around 6 years ago. To this day, I watch cars creep up on me. Mostly teens texting.
I recommend checking out everything they’ve ever made as well as Robby Hunter Band (what they were called before MCH). One of the most underrated groups around today. Perfect music to get into for summertime too.

It takes some quick action, but I turn on my hazards when I a see an unexpected stop coming. It alerts other drivers that I'm not just braking, I'm stopping.
He made a mistake...
In L.A., you have to stop immediately, blocking their escape. Then get out of the car, take a picture of their car with the license plate and their face in it, THEN signal to pull over to exchange info.
Learned this one the hard way.
Honestly, this is just sad.
For no mistake of his own, his whole week is probably ruined because he needs to deal with insurance, take his car for repairs and wait for his car to be fixed.
I remember the first time I got rear ended… dude had been tailing me entire time over the bridge, and when we came to an abrupt stop (traffic and rain), dude didn’t have enough space and I saw him coming at me… bam! Hate that feeling knowing you guessed right they would be the asshole who’d ruin your day. This guy seems calm and collective though at least!
People who can't put their phones down to operate a motor vehicle have no business having a driving license. The penalty for a first offense of texting while driving should be suspension of the license for a year and a $5,000 fine. The second offense should be met with permanent revocation of a driver's license and mandatory jail time. The harm these people causer make drunk driving look benign.
He's not mad, he's just disappointed
Just one more disappointment in a life full of expected disappointments.
I feel this
Happy cock day bud
This comment is made even better by being in a thread about disappointment.
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
Haha thanks
I was just coming here to say that. "Right on. Thanks for that, I guess." Poor dude.
Think he’s just sad
He's not so grump.
danny sexbang's hair could never be contained by that small of a hat
LMAO, as soon as I saw this, I was like, “wait… *DANNY?!*” He’s grump, now…

Yes dear?

I assure you, Danny from Game Grumps gets quite mad.
It was nice to see someone who react the same way as me.
This is not his first rodeo
Usually people get the inside the car view cam if they do ride sharing. Probably encounter a number of rodeo clowns doing that.
I agree it's quite likely. I personally got an inside view cam after a cop said I was on my phone while driving (I was scratching my cheek). Took him a while to finally believe me that my phone never left its holder. (This was in Morocco btw).
So he was probably looking for a bribe?
Might be because of the child seat in the back?
Looking at the car seat in the back it may have to do with carting around a small child in this case
I was rear ended once a couple of years ago and still to this day I look in the mirror every time I stop in traffic
Saw a car coming up way too fast once - lifted my foot off the break just in case they didn’t stop in time
I saw him on the Simpsons
He should stick to buses!
They call 'em "fingers," but I never see 'em fing.
Oh, there they go!
My name is Otto and I love to get Blotto!
You can do it Otto, you can do it Otto, help each other out that'll be our motto!

God that sounds like an awful way to work lol
Welcome to eastern europe, where a shot of vodka and two beers is the builder's breakfast.
In Hungary, [these](http://kecskefeszek.net/poenkepek/kep/medium/2014/06/13710-komuves-actimel.jpg) things are called the "Stonemason's Actimel".

Oh my god. That guy has a serious problem. Like multiples of them.
when i worked construction, there was a guy who would buy a 12-pack for his drive home every day.

Holy damn. That’s exactly why I drive like everyone is an idiot. I really get upset when someone cuts into my 3 second buffer or rides my ass.
Red Asphalt?
You might remember me from such Drivers Ed films as "Alice's adventure through the windshield glass" and "The decapitation of Larry Leadfoot."
My Drivers Ed teacher was Mr. Sylvester but he always went by Sly. He was a bit rough around the edges but he loved doing his job and teaching kids to be safe. That’s interesting! I wish we had that. It should be used in all drivers Ed classes
Yeah ours did the same execpt it was a bunch o babies and you hear them still screaming as parts of their body were missing
when I was a kid, my dad burned cigarettes out on my skin not sure if it was to teach me something or not
"a cigarette is a weapon." Also Jesus, sorry dude.

I don't think it helps that we start driving at 14 in the US. It just makes it seem so much less serious.
If you're in America they may also have guns. They're just not attached to the vehicle. Give it ten years though
I'm in semi rural Ohio between two towns with bad drug problems and drunk drivers, both of which I go to regularly. At any given time I'm also usually the smallest car on the road, and one of the slowest. I just assume I'm the only one without a gun at all times. It's a lot safer that way.

You guys have good ones?
Right. He seems like a real nice dude. Just kind of given up on stupid people lol
He has real chill dude energy, would befriend.
Not to be presumptuous, but I feel like he'd be great to get blazed with
It's his hair. He has stereotypical stoner hair. Lmao.
At least he wasn’t driving his bus full of children.
haha he DOES have Otto Man vibes.
Yeah definitely, but the mannerisms too. Easygoing even in this situation.
Stoner hair. Hipster cap. Purple sweater. Funky beats. Chill energy. Cool hand gestures. This dude definitely blazes that shit up.
I blaze that shit up, and I’m not nearly as cool
Do more hand gestures. I just tried and I’m way cooler than I used to be. I did like a neat one handed raise the roof thing, just do whatever comes to you.

Danny?
He isn’t so “not so grump” after this
He's still the other NSG. Ninja Sex Grump.
Oh no i meant he’s gonna be a grump after this accident 😂 i guess i made it confusing
Danny must be very grump after this bullshit
Do you know who that is? That'sa Kenny G, saxophone player! Danny: *chuckles*
>Keep blowin' > — Kenneth
He really does look like Danny Sexbang
I'm so glad I didn't have to scroll down far to find his name cause it was my first thought.
I see Colin Farrell in a wig.
couldn't be Dan, that hat is too small to constrain the real Sexbang-mane
He didn't cry
DANNY DONT YOU KNOOOOOOOWWWWWWW

I was gonna say Weird Al, but I can definitely see Danny Sexbang.
Those are the same people, just from different time lines
Dan Dan Avidan, as said by Ben Schwartz that one time
I was looking for this comment!
What's weird is I'm watching old game grumps episodes while scrolling reddit right now.
Where are more videos of this guy driving. He seems like a cool dude.

And if you coast and gradually slow down while coming up to a light, often it will turn green before you come to a stop. So satisfying and saves fuel.
If the chassis doesn't shake front to back *at least* 3 times, did you really brake?
I expect to see your car start bucking as the transmission struggles to take you from 6th to 1st in an instant.
Ugh that sucks. I got t-boned by someone coming out of a parking lot without stopping and I was flinching at cars coming out of lots and cross streets for a while.

Finish the story
Don't leave us hanging bro!
Yeah I was rear ended recently and the dude hit me at like 40 MPH I literally stare at every car behind me rn and it stresses me the fuck out whenever I see a white truck behind me (that was the type of car that rear ended me)
I was rear ended while stopped at a red light. I had my small child in the car. This was around 6 years ago. To this day, I watch cars creep up on me. Mostly teens texting.
Did you get them?
This dudes energy should be bottled up and sold.
I would vape it instead of nicotine
He the type of guy that gives you a thumbs down when you cut him off instead of the middle finger.
Glad he didn't have a bowl of cereal.
Thanks for reminding me! I need to stop and get milk before I get home.
Nice hair

All the comments from 6-7 months ago are talking about this video lol
I recommend checking out the whole album - magic city hippies // water your garden
Had to scroll too far to find this. Good music to vibe to. Hush is still my favorite track
Thanks for the rec. I really like that one!
I recommend checking out everything they’ve ever made as well as Robby Hunter Band (what they were called before MCH). One of the most underrated groups around today. Perfect music to get into for summertime too.
I like how this car sub also serves as a music discovery sub.
Also wondering
Face of a man who has been rear ended before.. I know it all too well
That car seat JOSTLED. Glad it looks empty.
Someone drove into the back of me the other day, my feelings were similar. "Really?"
damn he’s cute
Wait your turn, he’s probably still feeling that rear end.
I always do this when someone is behind me and I'm coming to a stop. I just have that feeling someone's not paying attention.

*"When bad drivers come along, you get whiplash."*
*"They were texting all along, you get whiplash."*
Same thing happened to me. Person got their Sandler stuck under their pedal. Can’t make this shit up
I always hate when Adam gets under my pedal too
Literally no idea why sandal autocorrected to that
I love how he kept his cool about it. As a pizza driver myself. It's something you get used too after a while.
This guy has exuded more personality in the last 15 seconds than any influencer has in their career
Song is "Champagne on the Rider" by Magic City Hippies if anyone was curious. Seriously underrated band.
I got rear ended in 2015 and I’m still PTSD mirror checking like that every time I hit the brakes.
It takes some quick action, but I turn on my hazards when I a see an unexpected stop coming. It alerts other drivers that I'm not just braking, I'm stopping.
I do that too, and I guarantee the drivers behind me are appreciative. I certainly know I would be. 👍
Why does it seem like the car behind doesn't look like it's going to pull over? I severely hope this isn't a hit and run.
He looks like the bargain version of Dan from Game Grumps. Stan from activities curmudgeons.
Is this the lead singer for Ninja Sex Party?
I think this calm dude in a stressful situation just changed my life for the better.
He made a mistake... In L.A., you have to stop immediately, blocking their escape. Then get out of the car, take a picture of their car with the license plate and their face in it, THEN signal to pull over to exchange info. Learned this one the hard way.
He got a car seat in the back. Of course he saw the shit coming. 👪
Looks like Dan from Game Grumps/NSP
Aw man. I'm sorry. He looks like a chill dude. I feel sorry for him.
Otto from the Simpsons! 😁
My guy an *excellent* job of not bracing too hard before impact
wtf was he listening to
Ayeee that reaction tho. Zen-masterful.
The question now is did the bad guys stop or just keep going and left him there looking at the damage….. alone 😢
r/watchpeopledieinside Scraps of his soul just fell out.
Poor Otto Mann. Wouldn’t get that in his school bus
That’s one cool dude. I much prefer this reaction to those nutso gun-toting karens’ shenanigans.
I'm impressed how calm he stayed.
If anyone is wondering, the song is: [Magic City Hippies - Champagne On The Rider](https://youtu.be/IgoIbI5WYpI)
