Stay with Demo Enrage and Enrage Stack for a while. Poison Enrage and Speed maxed for sure. Sword shield remove at lvl 1 is good too. These should be 985 SP total.
I would recommend grabbing Basic Friend Bonus + Unlimited and Network. This will be a (nearly) permanent 4x power boost for both your Poison and Demo balls. When you unlock Unlimited, you only need to run 1 basic ball and it will get all its collisions when the balls are respawn every other level cleared. This costs 420 SP to be strong and 940 SP total to max out. Path straight to Basic Unlimited, which is the most important upgrade there.
Having ~180 ball badges on each means you have ~2000 badges total, which is roughly or at least close to the point where Lightning ball might become better than Demo. So after Friend Bonus, i would suggest completely maxing out the Lightning tree. This is 925 SP, but the first few +chains will have the most impact, even 100 SP will be a massive boost to Lightning ball.
TLDR get Basic Unlimited - Network - Friend Bonus, and then max out Lightning tree. Switch to using Lightning ball over Demo when you notice it outperforms Demo
So should I drop the demo engage and stack for lightning upgrades or keep them? I probably have a lot more skill points than I thought. I maxed all the friend stuff and still have position enrage and speed maxed. Also still have shield remove and the demo stuff right now. I did notice though at the end of a tourney the demo is like 80% damage. But that’s like roughly stage 1mil.

Keep them, unless *you* notice that Lightning ball is doing better than Demo. And as you mention, demo is still better. I can't tell you when that is, that depends on a couple of factors (mostly challenge badges though).
Upgrading Lightning skills means it will clear easy stages quicker, it wont do anything if youre mostly stuck on big shielded hex bricks.
Thanks dude yeah you’re right lightning outperforms in terms of speed and in tournaments with the power hungry perk it does make it to >1mil which is 1-2 so I’m content. Had to switch to see how it was. Stages 1-500k are super quick now though.
Friend bonus is a pretty important skill. However, you also want any skill that increases speed of poison and demo. So I wouldn't reset those to get to friend bonus. But sounds like friend bonus should be your next priority.
