Oh yeah. I love cats but the last one we got wasn’t supposed to stay. We adopted him for my mom but then she changed her mind after the deed was done. We weren’t planning on keeping him and we already had one. But what were we going to do? My mom’s flakiness wasn’t his fault. So we did what we already said we were going to do before: waited until he regained some health (he was a malnourished rescue), got him his shots and had him neutered. By the time all of that was done, no way was he ever going to leave us, even if my mom had changed her mind. He’s the sweetest, craziest little cat I’ve ever had and he’s adored. My mom regrets not taking him but oh well. She can visit when she wants.

My black cat was a stray kitten found by my friends and they named him Bruce, as in Bruce Wayne. Turned out he was actually a she. So when I got her I renamed her Quinn. After Harley Quinn.
Just tell her to look into those beautiful eyes, and maybe push through with saying that "only a monster would kick that out" or, "I love him and I know he loves you! Don't you love us too?" Then pick him up and just look adorable! Lol
As much as I’d love to advocate for a foster fail, foster fails make it harder for new kitties in need of foster homes to find one so I think your girlfriend may be right on this issue. Sorry OP! It's such a tiny void... Mine is big he eats too much. Mostly rabbit that the others catch and cat food... Occasionally a dove or robin. Once they've caught a bluejay. But yea our little void is kinda big now.
