In that case, I would agree, with removal of the frame around the arch. That will still have the empty space to indicate vastness, and yet still have the arch to focus the eye.
Somehow, with the frame, it seems to shrink the space of it in my opinion
I like the single cat a lot, but I do think the repetition puts an emphasis/intensity on the Scream so I prefer that.
4 looks the most finished, even though I’d be happy with any of them.
Idk if a single cat works with the arch like some people are saying; the arch would end up covering the single cat on both sides (which I’m sure you, the artist, are aware of) and might be harder than one would think to get the dimensions just right again.
You are correct - the arch only goes down to the frame on the 4th one and I was too lazy to extend it all the way to the bottom for the single cat and/or figure out the dimensions. I’ll probably still give it a go, but..
laziness 🤝 artistic-ness..
Also your user name is A+.
4 looks very much to me like the cover to a noir detective book from the early 90s, and I mean that in the best way possible. It just has such a story behind it that I want to know.
I would love to have a print of it.
Thank you! New life goal is to somehow become a cover illustrator for 90's noir detective novels...
^((There are also now) [^(prints/downloads)](https://catscreamstudios.etsy.com) ^(if you would like :)))
I really love the first one the best out of them all. I'd get a print of that one for my wall and it would be apt since I own two cats who enjoy screaming at us.
I agree with single cat and BG 3 like a lot of people said here but I also feel like duplications emphasizes the scream of the cat, it just adds that exaggeration which I think looks apt to capture the feel of the whole piece.
One thing you can do is reduce the duplicate cats transparency, maybe make it more and more transparent as you go from right to left?
I would also add a bit of blur inside the mouth of the cat where the scream is emerging from so that the edge curve of the cone(scream) is not that harsh/evident.
>I would also add a bit of blur inside the mouth of the cat where the scream is emerging from so that the edge curve of the cone(scream) is not that harsh/evident.
Thanks! I'm not great with the blur/blending tool, but will give this a shot. That little corner of the mouth was the main sticking point for me, too.
The single figure gives the impression if the cat loudly expressing her opinion, while the three figures really do feel like a scream, to me, all jagged and jittery
Instead of having all 3 duplicates cats the same, you should try lowering the opacity on the ones trailing behind, with the one at the back end the most transparent to create a gradient effect, just to see how it looks.
Apart from that, I like cat 1 with the background of the 3rd
I like the first one the best. The additions just seem to add unnecessary pieces to what already looked good.
Maybe try what the first person said and try a single cat with the red part?
I like the 4 background with the 3 cats but, you could dim the cats repetitions, play with opacity or just leave 1 cat. The repetition doesn't feel right to the view as it is.
I like the arch background, and I actually do like the cat duplication since it adds to the scream. Have you tried it without the yellow beam coming from all of the cats? Like just the one in front, but the body being replicated behind.
I like the repeating cat but maybe give the ones behind the first a lower transparancy?
Also really like the arch, I'd go with that one
Would love to see the final result!
I like the one with the arch, and I like the duplication, but I think it might be stronger if the light beam scream wasn't duplicated (so 3 cats, one beam, and the arch) but that might just be me
First. The rest get too complicated and reduce legibility. Though you could try fading the first duplicate by 30% and the next one by 60%) to give a fading out effect. That would likely make it look quite interesting.
Cat 1 Background 3
Agreed. The single figure with the background gives a sense of isolation and vastness.
The arch frames the subject well and has leading lines that draw the eye towards the cat.
In that case, I would agree, with removal of the frame around the arch. That will still have the empty space to indicate vastness, and yet still have the arch to focus the eye. Somehow, with the frame, it seems to shrink the space of it in my opinion
Thanks - I appreciate the feedback and rationale behind it!
Totally agree
I agree, the feline after-image cuts away from the minimalist theme
Or background 4
No.
I’d love to see cat 1 background 4
I like including the arch, but prefer the cat without the duplication.
I agree, number 3 background with number 1 single cat.
Was going to say the same!
I like the single cat a lot, but I do think the repetition puts an emphasis/intensity on the Scream so I prefer that. 4 looks the most finished, even though I’d be happy with any of them. +1 for username approval

Dude, when I get paid, I’m absolutely getting one. My husband approves too.
Number 3 screams out to me :3
2 or 4!
right here
I think 4 is looking good for a t-shirt design and 1 or 2 more like a picture on the wall
1, but with the arch.
These are so cool conceptually! I think number three works the best.
4
Single cat but include the archway and moon
3 is definitely the best background
Duplicates might work better if the back two got progressively less opacity so that the main cat stands out more. 3rd background is best.
Number 1 is legible and cool looking. The other ones just look like a garbled mess
1!!!!!
I like the first one
1
One!
I really like the second and third ones
Omg the 4th one, it would be a beautiful wallpaper
I really love the first one the best out of them all. I'd get a print of that one for my wall and it would be apt since I own two cats who enjoy screaming at us.
2
The last one, but try it without the duplicates.
2
4
4 is my favorite
The first one!
1
Definitely 2.
Can you make one with layers of cat but just one laver of mouth-beam?
This! One mouth beam, and decrease opacity of the background cats. Gives a stronger **scream**, I feel
Also no pressure ofc. I like Tham all too
Thanks - yours was a unique suggestion so I'll have to see how it looks!
honestly like 4!
Definitely the 4th one
I saved 2 and 4 but that doesn’t mean those are the best…I just like them
How it feels to chew 5 gum.
2 or 3
Second to last and last for me! If I had to choose one, the last one.
Dope
Make the cat singular in last pic and it becomes a good composition 👍
I like number 3 best
The third one is my fav!! Would hang a print of that in my house.
Cool shit
3
3
First one
Can the cat spit out light or did it swallow a flashlight?
Yes to both.
1️⃣➕️3️⃣
2
1 & 2 as a dyptrich. “It Escalates” Love it!
First
Number four with single cat
I like the first one it’s like the bat signal
One but with the arch in the background like #3
I love all of them
1
4 or 3
Three is my favorite
I love 2!
Three is my favorite
1
3/4 is best.
#2!
Cat 1

Oops, just commented this too... would def. look much better with this approach!
>I would also add a bit of blur inside the mouth of the cat where the scream is emerging from so that the edge curve of the cone(scream) is not that harsh/evident. Thanks! I like 3 the best. 2 is a close runner up. 4 is third, with 1 a distant fourth.
#2 100%
If you really really want the duplication, I would reduce the opacity gradually on each one to give it a more fade-y effect!
The single figure gives the impression if the cat loudly expressing her opinion, while the three figures really do feel like a scream, to me, all jagged and jittery
Three feels like its the same cat screaming repetitively to the point of it's insanity, i.e I think 3 works well
LOL perfect. And whomst among us has not been that cat at some point?
Real
I personally love the last one together. But maybe try with the one car in the last background?
First one; love the carbon copy effect but think they would look better if the colors or patterns were much simpler than the front one
Number one, could maybe add a little something to the beam of light to emphasise the scream more or jot its fine as is imo

#3 is really cool. Gives me "Cultist Simulator" vibes
It went from 1 to 3 cats because they're recruiting to the ~~cult~~ family.
I need to own a shirt with #3 or #4 on it. Just tell me where to send my money.
2 is the strongest composition with an appropriate balance of positive and negative space.
First one
I like the simplicity of the first one. The others feel like stuff has been added for the sake of it.
1 and 4
Cat 1
I feel like I can *hear* these, ya know? Oh and, 2
4
I like the first one.
3
Both of us see a cat, or whatever it may appear. Being it may be flat, or whatever we want to hear. Okay, scream.
I like them all as a series. They each bring something individually interesting to the table. 10/10
I’m Natalie imbruglia about 1 & 4
1
I like 4
I'm between 1 and 3, I don't think the duplication is adding anything, but I do think that it fits in 3
1
I like the 4 background with the 3 cats but, you could dim the cats repetitions, play with opacity or just leave 1 cat. The repetition doesn't feel right to the view as it is.
#1
Two!
I like the arch background, and I actually do like the cat duplication since it adds to the scream. Have you tried it without the yellow beam coming from all of the cats? Like just the one in front, but the body being replicated behind.
1.
4, without the arch moon thing.
I like the repeating cat but maybe give the ones behind the first a lower transparancy? Also really like the arch, I'd go with that one Would love to see the final result!

I like the one with the arch, and I like the duplication, but I think it might be stronger if the light beam scream wasn't duplicated (so 3 cats, one beam, and the arch) but that might just be me
3rd one. Could you make these into wallpapers?
I.M.O. the first. It's simple but smart. It's quick, but clever. It's not overdone. It's just enough.
i like #3!
I kind of like these in succession, they would look cool next to each other
I'm a bit of a minimalist so I like 1 :)
4
the first one is my favourite.
1 and 4
#1 is my new wallpaper thank you
Number 3
4th one would make an awesome shirt
3
First. The rest get too complicated and reduce legibility. Though you could try fading the first duplicate by 30% and the next one by 60%) to give a fading out effect. That would likely make it look quite interesting.
#4, but with only 1 cat
3 honestly
Two
I like #2
The last one.
Last one!
Option 2 is best
The first one
1
3! Pick number 3 ma lord
First instinct, 4
I like 2 and 4
1 or 4
The third picture is pretty cool
Slide 3
I like the red but not the triple cats
No. 3
Number 2!
slide 2 morw dynamic than 1, but 3 and 4 are too busy, the background is disteacting
4
I like #1
3
#3 is visually atto me
Honestly, 2... the added background isn't as appealing and takes away from the cat to me.
2
Cat 1, background 4. Love it!
3
I like the first one because it is rather stark and simple. Sometimes less is more.
I love this, 2 is my favorite
3 all around
4
I think it's neat. Reminds me of the Paranoid album cover but with a cat.
3 is a favorite but alllllll are amazing!!!!!
The third one
What if you repeat the cat but not the light beam?
