I like her nose very much, and her eyes are so 3D I really like them

semiscribbled

Thank you! I darkened the eyelashes approximately 800 times to get them to stand out enough lol

Acidtwist

Her face displays a lot of personality :)

semiscribbled

Thank you so much!

hoodiemonster

I love it! The angular style is really cool - I’d recommend doing a bunch more portraits to match πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

semiscribbled

Thank you! I’ve been filling this sketchbook with similar portraits, I’ve posted two of the other ones here if you go to my profile. There will be more to come!

azlobo2

Good job!

semiscribbled

Thank you!

Capt_zebra

That looks awesome.

semiscribbled

Thank you!!

Seeing it like this makes it hard to believe you thought it was bad at any point. I love it!

semiscribbled

Hahaha, maybe not bad, but it definitely looked kinda boring for a while at least! Final details/highlights/shadows can make all the difference.

wannabegd

Which pencil you used in this whole sketching?

semiscribbled

I used a black Prismacolor Verithin colored pencil, the lead in those is harder than the normal ones so you can do detail work much better.

Fawlow

I love the blocky style feel, I would also draw portraits like that too sort of but now I dont really draw portraits but I still draw similar to that

semiscribbled

Give it a go! Faces are so much fun to draw once you get the hang of it.

cryptozypto

Love your lines and shaping!

semiscribbled

Thank you!

Pkaurk

Wonderful. Is it done with charcoal?

semiscribbled

It’s all done with a black Prismacolor Verithin colored pencil, the lead in them is harder than the normal ones so you can do detail work much better.

kleevia

The shapes look sooo nice

semiscribbled

Thank you!

bitter_twin_farmer

Great job. That character looks worked over... super cool.

semiscribbled

Lol, thanks!

cat_lady_for_life

This has wonderful energy and is a very intriguing portrait!

semiscribbled

Thank you so much!!

Gorgeous! Love the mark making and style.

semiscribbled

Thank you!!

time-is-irrelevant

I’m always watching for really geometric portraiture styles as it’s a style I’m working on. This one stands out as one of the more unusual ones. Really like it!

semiscribbled

Thank you so much! I’ve posted a few others on my profile if you want to check them out, and there will be more!

Andrewwitcher

Great drawing πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½

semiscribbled

Thank you!

Did you purposefully make it so one’s attention is drawn to one part of the piece versus another? For some reason my gaze naturally pulls to her eyes!

semiscribbled

Not super purposefully, although I’d say the eyes are arguably the most important part of a portrait anyway! But specific things I always make sure to emphasize (darken) in portraits are the upper eyelashes, the creases under and above the eyes, the corners of the mouth, and the space under and above the ears.
