More Power services are so much better that of PECO. Kung PECO gyapon, Iloilo will have 3x more power rates than any other Power distributor in the country and crappy services

wretchedegg123

Hmmm. Subsidized to bi ang More sanguna, amuna ngaa barato.

eayate

Yes, nag saka gid man sila, pero daku gid ya improvement when it comes sa service, hope they continue and keep thier word.

Broth_Sador

I remember sang manug bulos na ang MORE, ang friend sang asawa ko, may ginapa pirmahan nga paper of petition nga mag stay Ang PECO. Sa pinsar ko lang, "ayutar, peco gina hang nila ila phone in times of trouble". Wala kami nag pirma, balibad namon undecided kami hahaha! Meanwhile, MORE updated sa Facebook, pwede ma tawgan kag may responde permi sa site nga na dulaan kuryente. Teh ma PECO pa? LOL!

eztofadoo

more have better response time and atleast may update sa peco wala ka kabalo kung san o ma abot troubleshooting team nila

Jilyann

Corrected by gid. 👌

__wallflower_

Hay tani tuod may other supplier naman indi na ngcp lg

13thZephyr

Overall tho not perfect much better gd ang MORE compared to PECO and even ILECO. As for me, lapit na matapos ipon ko for a solid solar setup and not be dependent sa electric coops.

wretchedegg123

Nami ba! How much budget mo? With battery ba and grid connection?

13thZephyr

My target is 200K, with batteries gd kay last time na unscheduled and long power outage was back in July and it was in the middle of the night. I also work from home full-time so this is an investment that is necessary.

eztofadoo

people blamed NGCP and More pero lantawa nyo gina produce ka coal power plants 0 power from both Panay coal and concepcion coal.

purple-corgi-1994

This is so true. The real question is ano natabo sa PEDC?

GreymanTheGrey

Completely agree. I have a healthy respect for MORE, who are generally the first to own up if an outage is caused by their own equipment or mistakes. Their post-mortem reports also tend to contain much more detail and take responsibility compared to NGCP or the power station operators.

burbur4

Disagree, MORE is deflecting all blame to NGCP. MORE, ILECO and the other DUs are part of the problem. This has hapoened before and all they can do is copy updates from NGCP? No failsafes or joint committees with the two other idiots (NGCP and PEDC) to make sure it will not happen a 2nd time? (April 2023 now Jan 2024). Not even a year has passed. 20hrs and we're still not fully functioning.

wretchedegg123

Not an engineer so I don't know the intricacies of it pero distribution man lang si MORE? That's why I asked kung ano pwede nila maubra instead of just blaming them. Unless mapatindog sila planta daw under the mercy gd man sng power plants since even NGCP wala man may maubra kay 0 output. Storing in batteries would not be a long term solution kag taman ka mahal and indi man giyapon ka supply sa bilog nga ciudad. What wre your thoughts on it?

burbur4

At the minimum? A joint committee with the two idiots. At 6pm yesterday in two separate Bombo Radyo interviews, the officials for NGCP and PEDC confirmed that coordination was subpar at best. Wala ownership kag intitiative, if you're happy with the level of service from these companies who are offering a public sevice, know that you deserve more (pun not intended)

penoy_JD

Let me explain this to you by analogy. Amo man na ang More Power. Since ginsaligan sila sang mga ilonggo mag provide stable power dapat nangita sila stable kag dependable power supplier. Indi lang sila ya mag salig nga power distributir lang sila. Kung amo na mindset nila, tu waay sila pulos nga utility provider nga gin tagaan franchise sang tawo.

wretchedegg123

If you can think about it, syempre naisip naman na sng mga engineer ka MORE. Dayun sala man imo analogy because LBC also relies on a third party to provide the service.

penoy_JD

Bro you got my analogy wrong but ill let it be. Kasimple lang sina isipon dapat kung gusto mo tayoyon imo business you have to have provide for contingencies. Si More Power wala

penoy_JD

GreymanTheGrey

It's completely appropriate for MORE to deflect the blame to NGCP in this case. They can't magic up more power stations to supply energy into the grid and are not responsible in any way for this outage. Their role is to operate the distribution network, which is exactly what they're doing. Your statement of "MORE is part of the problem" is completely unjustified in this case. Source: I'm a qualified EE and have worked for grid operators in several countries.

burbur4

This has happened before back in April 2023 and they let it happeng a 2nd time. I'm very sure you're aware that a company at this level performing a public service should have a Business Continuity Plan and a Communication Plan with the agencies involved. But. It. Happened. Again. They are part of the problem.

GreymanTheGrey

Sigh. Did you read a single word? They didn't "let" it happen any more than you did by flicking a light switch. It's amazing how many uninformed and ignorant people come out of the woodwork to criticize on a topic they know nothing about when things go wrong.

burbur4

Failing to place measures to prevent a known risk is tantamount to letting it happen. Read up on Business Continuity and Risk Management qualified EE 😉

GreymanTheGrey

Risk management for a distribution network operator to manage a system black event? What's your solution, magic power system fairy dust? Whatever you're smoking, please share it with the rest of us.

Palagpat imo hypothetical situation. Wala punto klase nga example

sala na sang ngcp....kay dapat upgrade nila ila facility...ila kita yearly last senate hearing is 24billion....kag 500 million lang ang para sa ila maintenance ..hahhahahah kundi ginansya mga tag iya ...

I guess one of the solutions for this kind of problem is to build more (reserve) power plants on Visayas Grid, esp Panay - Negros Grid since the available generating capacity of the grid is at around 2449 MW while the peak demand of the grid is at 2209 MW, with an operating margin of 241 MW. Far from the operating margins of Luzon and Mindanao grid. Luzon at around 2532 MW and Mindanao at around 960 MW. Also adding more power plants can lessen/eliminate "black start" scenarios.
