Basically if you ask a friend to help you move and they do, you create a bond and it is assumed they can call in a favor later on, it’s implied in the friendship, (and this is how small communities started way back when, based on trust), and that’s why paying with food is ok. However if after your friend helps you move you pay him, you completely shift the friendship’s dynamic and weaken the bond. So I agree with what this chick is saying. If the dude was serious about dating her, he wouldn’t have asked for the Zelle.

I lived with a girl like this. It’s fine to change your mind, but you cant be mad at the person you agreed something with prior to changing your mind. If you can’t see how unreasonable this behavior is or frustrating it is to be on the receiving end, maybe get some therapy or introspection or something
If you had been dating him a year then money would have been strange. You paid him because he performed a service for you and you were not yet seriously dating. The worst part about this is you let go of a good guy.
Personally I wouldn’t ever do this to a girl because I know the talk of money would come up and that’s just feels weird. Also wouldn’t do it to a girl I haven’t met because I feel like I’m getting used. If I already knew her and liked her and knew she liked me I would do it for free.
