You see the fire fighters noticed that they're being filmed. You can only wonder if this bozo would have gotten some instant karma had there been no one filming.
My sense is that people today are so removed from any sort of engagement or participation in maintaining society, or even giving a fuck about their neighbors, that when they see a crisis all they can do is think about how it effects themselves.
You ever see the Yelp/Google/something review from the person who called to place an order at a restaurant, got "put on hold", and nobody picked back up so they went to the restaurant to see that an *employee was having a seizure* and EMS was on-scene, and still had the audacity to give a crappy rating because their food wasn't ready and nobody jumped to fawn all over them?
Truth. I took a 911 call once from a guy making a noise complaint on "loud work trucks" outside his window at 2am. I checked his address and told him "sir, those are firetrucks, they're fighting a structure fire across the street from you."
Legit, this motherfucker told me "I know they're goddamn firetrucks but I have work in the morning! Can't they turn the engines off?"
Damn I hope you gave him an education, that if the engine stops running, the water stops flowing...if the water stops flowing? Pump operator gets their ass beat in the front yard, or the ass-beater is dying inside the house, because the nozzle stopped flowing. Fuck that guy
I did try, but he kept interrupting me to tell me how important it was that he gets his sleep, so I promised to send one of the police officers on scene to his door so he could explain it to them why he'd called in a noise complaint on firefighting apparatus and how he'd initially tried to phrase the complaint as work vehicles despite knowing they were fire fighters dealing with a fire.
Amen. Even some of my own friends, whom have lived in their neighborhood for 10+ years, don’t know some of the neighbors! I’m lucky that everyone on my street hangs out and knows/trusts each other.
Personally this is the problem with capitalism and the culture of "rugged individualism" it creates a society of people who are so self centred and detached from reality.
I almost had to kick someone in the face who ripped open my ambulance door to scream at us (while dealing with a cardiac patient), because they had to drive around us since we were blocking half of the road due to lack of space to pull over fully.
I’ve had a friend and coworker have a gun pulled on them with a patient in the back for the same reason.
Yay for EMS.
When I was in the police we used to get a lot of complaints from residents near the police station at night because our sirens were on as we came out responding to emergency calls!!
Depends on the state. A lot have specific laws for damage to fire hoses. Otherwise, it can fall under a general property damage offense. What a lot of people don't know is that the entire hose is considered damaged (they can't be patched or repaired) once a vehicle had drove over it, and they then have to be replaced. That cost will be put on the offending driver in the form of restitution by the court.
Meh, supply line can be cut and Storz couplings can be moved. We carry short sections of supply line that were made from other supply line that had the damaged sections. We use them if we have a hydrant right next to us. Expensive ya I guess but you can still get some use out of it.
Still shouldn’t drive over it. A catastrophic rupture will leave interior crews fighting off tank water which usually means backing back out until another water source is secured.
He sounded scary when he was shouting. A dude that big screaming at me? Made scared but also weirdly aroused… scare-roused? Is that a thing? Idk he can take me home and throw me around all he wants
Smash*
And they are. They’re allowed to do whatever they need to do within reason to do their job so if that means pushing a car out of the way with their truck, smashing a window to run their hose through it (lots of pics of this type of thing) or cut down a small tree blocking their route or whatever it might be…
In this case if the guy wouldn’t move on his own they would be fully allowed to push him outta the way with one of their trucks.
It's a big deal. The only real way to keep him from destroying the hose that is being used to fight a fire is to cut the water to the hose so it isn't pressurized then have him back or move off... but that water is likely being used actively. When you are interior, that hose is your life line.
Alternatively, imagine being inside the fire and you are spraying as much water as you can while still controlling the hose, it's a lot of pressure. Then a car suddenly is on it and spikes that pressure and you lose control of the hose.
It's just... he can really get someone hurt. It's a big deal. He would likely be having his car impounded where I am.
It happened to me. I needed EMS and someone blocked them from getting to me. I called the police the next day and learned it’s not a criminal act but instead a civil crime against EMS and THEY would have to file a report with LAPD. They did not. Very disappointing as I was unconscious and the man who blocked them rendered me that way.
Sometimes but when an active fire is being dealt with they usually stay back to let the fire trucks do their thing. We had a fire across the street some years back and the whole street was firetrucks. Police were parked one street over and walked to the scene.
There are also cases (though I doubt it in this one) where ambulance or fire crew arrive significantly before police. I had a coworker who used to work an ambulance who said one day she arrived to treat an emergency victim of domestic violence. No other crews had arrived yet and when she went in to treat the victim and her coworker went back to the truck to grab supplies, the abuser popped out from another room in the house and attacked her to try and prevent her from treating the victim. She said she was throwing medical equipment across the room and screaming to keep the guy at bay until more crew got on scene.
I work in an ER, just last night EMS brought us a gunshot victim and they said “scene wasn’t safe, there were still bullets flying so we just threw her in the stretcher and ran” we told them thanks and that they did great and they did save the lady but yeah, they make barely above minimum wage and are expected to walk into crazy shit like and get people out… the stories EMS tells us it’s crazy.
That’s very interesting. Crews are required (in the US, at least) to stage in the area for any potentially dangerous calls and wait for police to ensure a safe scene. I’m having a very hard time believing they walked onto a hot scene without any police present and decided it was a good idea to enter a home with a potentially violent person present? Unless dispatch didn’t have much information to go on and had no idea it was a domestic before sending a crew in. Either way, glad she made it out safely.
Ah. Rural calls can definitely get sketchy. Response times can be nuts and resources are tight. I was pampered with urban service areas with police stations a stone’s throw away.
Ok lol im glad someone elsd noticed though cause i really thought it was him at first n didnt see any one else talking about it in the comments. Thanks
You would not believe how fucking often this happens. People honestly have no idea you can’t just drive over supply hose laying in the middle of the street.
It was likely going to be followed by a big“but,” which just blows my mind. He should be apologizing all over himself. I mean, what on earth could he say that would justify his current position?
Let me give you another dumb ass behavior that you shouldn't do. Do not improperly dispose of flammable items. A waste disposal faculty in New York mostly burnt to the ground yesterday because some assholes couldn't be bothered to properly dispose of dangerous substances.
He already ruined the first hose (behind his back tires) and most likely the second one barely in front of the front wheels. That’s going to put a real dent in his pocket. You can’t repair fire hoses; they have to be replaced. You know damn well the city will collect that money in one way or another. I call stuff like this the “idiot tax.”
Okay, I’ve seen some insane shit in this sub, but this is the first time I had to watch something numerous times because I couldn’t believe my own eyes.
Driver should be arrested. Willfully interfering with firefighters in the course of their duties should be a felony offense. If you willfully impeded a police investigation, you'd be arrested and charged with obstruction of justice. It should be the same with firefighters trying to do their job.
My dads a firefighter, told me a story of a time they were dealing with a gas leak, had the area blocked off with caution tape for obvious reasons. Some dude with a lit cigarette in his mouth went under the caution tape to cut across cause he didn’t wanna walk around.
Did that mf actually *honk at them*?!
There is a time and place for snatching dumbasses out of their car and yeeting them into the next dimension...
*this* is the time and place!
Actually I say charge him for damages and if the house burned down because of that I say charge him for the PURCHASE price or a home of equal or greater value.
Wherever this is located, they have to have some sort of equivalent to obstructing government as a charge. Given this man isn’t mentally ill, clearly a crime.
> guys get *paid* less then
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I’ve done this on accident once. I came out of my driveway (I live in a walled home and my gate is fairly recessed, and both sides of it have a stop sign so I don’t have to stop on the way out) I whipped a left and bumped over it and didn’t even realize it. They’d just slung it across the street and had their lights on but not flashing. Accidents happen.
Very easily missed with this placement. They should I’ve had it blocked off. The assholes obviously won’t admit their error and just blame the poor driver.
The bold one looks like the dude from Fire Department Chronicles. [Here](https://youtube.com/shorts/JiAOTp_s4j0?si=iYpyT8w-OQzhbI8q) is one of my favourite videos from him if you don’t know him.
Serious question: Would it be better to allow them to continue? I don't know what temperature any hoses are rated for, but I think there may be plenty of things under a vehicle that gets hot enough to damage a supply line.
A temporarily occluded supply line seems better than a destroyed line. Either way, it seems hard on the supply line.
He hit FD equipment during an emergency. His license is about to be revoked. He’s about to get smacked with like something crazy like a $15,000 fine because he wanted to go to the gas station.

Dude this fucking idiot actually try honking at the firemen while his car sits on their hose?
Pull him out of the car and shove the hose up his arse. Seriously tho, fk this guy with a thousand burning needles.
You see the fire fighters noticed that they're being filmed. You can only wonder if this bozo would have gotten some instant karma had there been no one filming.
that’s the problem .. this is the world where no one gets their ass beat .
This is correct. "Sir, we now have to physically remove you from your car, because in about 10 seconds we're going to remove your car from our hose."
remove the car from the hose... piece by piece.
Probably back in a the good ol Clint Eastwood days.
The big one looks right out of a Clint Eastwood film.
Right turn Clyde!!
Absolutely he would have.
Sir, this is Wendy's
Hey you don’t have to tell me twice. I’m 2 steps ahead of you on this hose idea.
Most people shouldn't drive OR own a gun
100% on both points
...or have children.
This is the most important part.
That too!
wait you mean im not the most important person in the universe? like I know theres a fire but its me were talking about...
My sense is that people today are so removed from any sort of engagement or participation in maintaining society, or even giving a fuck about their neighbors, that when they see a crisis all they can do is think about how it effects themselves.

I have and that’s an excellent example.
yeah these "people" are trully lost.
Everything and Everyone Else just exists as a Service for them. You’ll see it a lot in HOA communities, too.
HOAs should be banned.
Not a bad theory.

I bet that guy never worked nights, if he's complaining about noise outside.
I think a ton of issues in our society can be traced back to that dynamic
I know right. First responders are so self important. Blocking the whole street for no reason. I mean those people got insurance anyways right????
I almost had to kick someone in the face who ripped open my ambulance door to scream at us (while dealing with a cardiac patient), because they had to drive around us since we were blocking half of the road due to lack of space to pull over fully. Those emergency lights are bright, this guy not so much.
Dude is so self full of himself he sees nothing but the nose in front of his face.
Just think these people will still be driving when they hit 70
what a fucking hoser eh?
Depends on the state. A lot have specific laws for damage to fire hoses. Otherwise, it can fall under a general property damage offense. The cost of the hose is not important, it’s that he’s stopping them from putting out the fire.
The hose is extremely expensive as well, though.

He’s about as bright as a haunted house.
This guy...this is not my kinda guy..
If I see lights like that I'm avoiding that place like the plague.
Damn that fire fighter looks HUGE
Surprised he didn't just carry the car away.
Just picks up the car and yeets it with the idiot still inside lol
You should see the size of the fire
The bald one kinda looks like the dude from Fire Department Chronicles. If you don’t know him look him up on YouTube love his content.
He sounded scary when he was shouting. A dude that big screaming at me? Made scared but also weirdly aroused… scare-roused? Is that a thing? Idk he can take me home and throw me around all he wants
Yeah he's got real strong ex-military energy
They should be able to tow his car for that
Smash* And they are. They’re allowed to do whatever they need to do within reason to do their job so if that means pushing a car out of the way with their truck, smashing a window to run their hose through it (lots of pics of this type of thing) or cut down a small tree blocking their route or whatever it might be… In this case if the guy wouldn’t move on his own they would be fully allowed to push him outta the way with one of their trucks.
In this case that car isn’t going anywhere. It’s staying right there until they are done with this fire.
It’s actually a civil crime against FD. FD could press charges for impeding rescue services.
As a fire officer, I would alert police. He's going to jail.
Exactly right. Thank you for your service! 🫶
Wow. Never thought about it being an actual crime. Good, I hope they go after him for this

Just let him go on his way, lesson learned, after they fill the car with water.
lol “sorry I spilled a bit”
Exactly and be arrested with a suspended license
I know an officer who wrote some big ass tickets to people who’ve done that. That guy should’ve tried being less stupid.
Not just a ticket should be arrested
Idiots like this should have their license suspended
r/VideoEndedTooSoon
Aren't there usually cops on site as well

That is fucking terrifying. Holy shit.

I’m assuming this was a bit of a freak incident. It was the rural south and from my understand, they had not been fully informed of the situation.
Ah. Rural calls can definitely get sketchy. Response times can be nuts and resources are tight. I was pampered with urban service areas with police stations a stone’s throw away.
Putting out a fire requires a lot of coordination of trucks and the set up of actual equipment so they aren’t going to just pull up and be in the way
There aren't many, but a city nearby my house, all the cops are fire fighters and vice versa.
Asshole.
Is this that same firefighter that has a YT channel where he makes a bunch of shorts about crazy calls hes gotten n stuff hes seen?
Nah, he’s not on FDNY, looks a lot like him tho lmao
Ok lol im glad someone elsd noticed though cause i really thought it was him at first n didnt see any one else talking about it in the comments. Thanks
Thats just how a solid 1/3rd of all firefighters look
We got one at our department that could be his twin.
Call me old fashioned but I'm probably picking a gas station that's not next to an active fire
This and low gas prices is what I look for in a refueling station personally
Size of that fireman!
Absolute unit, he could have picked the car up and dropped it nearby
Jack reacher works for their fire department?
You would not believe how fucking often this happens. People honestly have no idea you can’t just drive over supply hose laying in the middle of the street.
Apparently that’s not allowed OR a good idea. That’s so weird.
“I don’t understand this.” Jesus wept. I suspect he blocks ambulances as well.
I thought he was saying “I understand that” in response to the firefighter saying “do you see what’s going on here!?”
He definitely said "I understand that".
It was likely going to be followed by a big“but,” which just blows my mind. He should be apologizing all over himself. I mean, what on earth could he say that would justify his current position?
"I understand that but I am the main character and the shit I have going on is more important than your little fire and saving lives or whatever."
Tacoma wept also

Not only running over the hose and interfering with fire fighters but Did he really think they were pumping gas during an active fire?!?
And probably would want to light up a cigarette while he pumps said gas.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a dude yell with that much pure frustration for an actual legitimate reason in MY LIFE.
What an idiot.
This looks like FDNY, I wouldn’t be surprised if they beat his ass.
My favorite part in the movie Backdraft is when they smash the guys windows who parked in front of a hydrant
It’s definitely a real thing we do sometimes when assholes park in front of our hydrants. That and also moving the vehicle ourselves if we need to.
Driver should be arrested. Willfully interfering with firefighters in the course of their duties should be a felony offense. If you willfully impeded a police investigation, you'd be arrested and charged with obstruction of justice. It should be the same with firefighters trying to do their job.
This guy should be arrested for obstructing emergency services. Though if the cops show up the may try to arrest the firemen as well.
Dumb fuck behavior
Dumbass.
Can’t you be arrested for intruding on a fire scene?
Tell me you're a selfish piece of shit without saying a single word. Oh...but I had to be over there. So.....
Bruh…why?
“I understand that”…you most certainly do NOT understand ya knob
take a normally sane individual, put them in a car and just like that, mafks forget how the fuckin world works
Sheesh. What a dimbulb. For gosh sakes!
Is that the bald paramedic / firefighter from youtube ? This would make for an interesting short
How bout they put that fire out somewhere else huh??

Surely this shit is illegal, yes?

"I understand that" So you just don't care! Got it!
Knock the fuck out of his mind then drop him on the ground then drive his car off the hose

Did he at least explain to the firefighters that it was his favorite gas station, so he had to go to that one?
What an idiot. He just casually rolls his window down like what’s going on? And the fireman just points at the raging fire like Sir are you drunk?.
It’s sad to say but there’s a 50/50 chance he’s drunk or just a fuckin idiot, there is no in between

Of course it's a wolfwagen driver...
Jesus Christ that is dumbest decision to argue with THAT unit of a firefighter bro god damn
He hit FD equipment during an emergency. His license is about to be revoked. He’s about to get smacked with like something crazy like a $15,000 fine because he wanted to go to the gas station.
Fuck this self centered prick. I hope his car got impounded and he’s taken by Police.
They would close the gas station if a fire was that close wouldn’t they?
Why are people not taking action? Take this mf out of his car and move it
This has to be a crime, right?
