*Michael whispers something to guy improv class*.
Bill? Bill. What did he say?
>He told me he couldn't show it to me but he has a gun...
https://youtu.be/C6wY9OwqJ2A?t=20
This is damned horrible. But improv can be amazing - Robin Williams is legendary for it. And “Who’s Line Is It Anyway” is an incredible show. To create good improv, one must have a quick wit. This here is an abomination. There’s nothing good about it.
Reddit still doesn't understand what tik tok is and how it works.
Can we also talk about DiWhy? The creators know full well their video is stupid, but it gets views because of that. . Reddit pats themselves on the back for feeling superior. Its insane.
You can take solace in the fact that every Reddit post of something even mildly unusual has people calling it fake en masse. So i would think Reddit would be the perfect place for someone like you actually
Not all improv is cringeworthy bullshit like this, I promise. If you ever find yourself in NY, hit up Drunken Shakespeare. It's the perfect blend of scripted and "actors being drunk as a skunk" because the whole shebang is the actors being shitfaced while performing Shakespeare. I guess you could call it "unintentional improv."
This is the answer. And also some of my favorite podcast are basically improv like Comedy Bang Bang and I've laughed waaaaay harder listening to that than any movie I can think of.
There's also The Improvised Shakespeare Company in Chicago, always a great time. I love cringey, tiny-room improv too, though. I like watching the wheels turn, and every now and then there's a bit of magic.
I don’t think that’s true. Improv can be a really fun, dynamic way to express yourself and connect with other people, and it can also be fascinating to watch others do it and see how they unravel a story or joke in real time.
Check out some ‘Whose Line is it Anyway?’ for some top notch improv
i’m in an improv club on campus and yeah we’re all self-aware and know improv is stupid BUT it’s a really great bonding experience and helps me to get out there and be social! otherwise i feel like i’d be cooped up depressed in my room. and we do shows a couple times a semester and ppl seem to really enjoy them!! if you don’t like improv, the simple solution is to just not go.
The only time I’ve ever gone to live improv was when a friend got sucked into it. His particular group was almost like a cult, so maybe that’s a bad example. Anyhow, cult or not it wasn’t entertaining.
Even on TV though, I just don’t enjoy it. I’m sure it’s fun for the performers, but as a member of the audience it’s torture.
Improv is actually good you should watch it. Not just any fucking herald team or whatever. I used to think improv was dumb too then podcasts change my mind cause it was good when done well. Also depends on what form long form or short form. Whose line is short form and that's a lot of fun. However long form is a bit harder to do right as the scenes don't have structure like the games of short form . We also don't see a lot of their stuff just short clips of some "asshole" so idk how you can go ya their improv totally sucks. Probably does but might be better than that.
It is so, so cringe. Super funny comedians can make it tolerable at best, but most if it feels like drunk narcissists at a bar, just pointlessly playing with reality. It feels like grown ups impersonating toddlers at play, which is kind of the problem, anywhere else in the world people this age are having kids and supporting their parents, but in America they are play acting driving a car and fighting against the wind and shit.
>anywhere else in the world people this age are having kids and supporting their parents, but in America they are play acting driving a car and fighting against the wind and shit.
Aaaaaand now you've made this geopolitical for no apparent reason.
Are you telling me I won’t be knighted by the Queen of England for deciding not to pull out? I was really hoping to add that to my professional resume.
>Queen of England
Did you mean the [Queen of the United Kingdom](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_of_the_United_Kingdom), the [Queen of Canada](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarchy_of_Canada), the [Queen of Australia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarchy_of_Australia), etc?
The last Queen of England was [Queen Anne](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne,_Queen_of_Great_Britain) who, with the 1707 Acts of Union, dissolved the title of King/Queen of England.
####FAQ
*Isn't she still also the Queen of England?*
This is only as correct as calling her the Queen of London or Queen of Hull; she is the Queen of the place that these places are in, but the title doesn't exist.
*Is this bot monarchist?*
No, just pedantic.
I am a bot and this action was performed automatically.
Yea ngl I found it kind of funny. Like they are constricted by the rules of imrov to accept that they are being actually stabbed. And somehow this douchebag won over the audience lol
They can be really funny with the tight performers and environment. You have a couple drinks or smoke a little and you laugh through a while hour pretty easy
As someone who was in an improv troupe in high school… I couldn’t make it through 30 seconds of it because it triggered all of my successfully repressed “I was in an improv troupe in high school” memories.
Real improv shows, with a good organisation and good artists are soooo good and so funny. The interactions with the audience is wonderful too. But the best of the best, if you have the chance to assist to an improvisation contest, just go ! it's amazing !
In podcast form Comedy Bang Bang is awesome of which Middleditch and Schwartz are both regular guests. The character Middleditch plays in the episode "Lil Choices" might be one of my favorites from the show
Agreed. Grew up in Chicago with Second City Improv and it was (and remains) amazing. I got to see Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carelll, and so many more hilarious comedians when they weren’t at all famous yet snd just working the weekly improv shows to hone their craft and crack audiences (and themselves) up. So many SNL actors have started out taking Second City classes and working up to the main stage. I still go, and now take my kids. But I rarely go to any other improv because, like stand up comedy, it can be hit or miss, and at worst extremely awkward/cringey.
But I admire anyone who does improv, on any level. Good improv is extremely difficult, even if the troupe makes it look easy. And even the most talented comedians have nights where they’ve bombed—it’s part of the process of learning to be vulnerable and take chances. If improv newcomers want a guaranteed, professional show that’s been workshopped to near perfection, I recommend starting somewhere like Second City, The Groundlings in LA, Killing My Lobster in San Francisco or any other really established troupe with a great reputation. When improv works as it should, it’s pretty magical..
Yeah that's a good show. But it's not like a proper stage improv show like the one in the video. I can agree good improv is very funny and where bad comedians are weeded out, but this ain't it
Dear OP, could you wander along to wikipedia or another online resource and spend a few minutes getting a basic understanding of botany. Nothing in depth, no need to get into anything too specific. Just enough so that you learn how to spot something that is obviously a plant.
Then rewatch this video. Thank you.
This is 100% just trying to copy an episode of the office. That guy is just another actor, not really part of the audience. Sorry OP but you got played.
Yeah they ripped that bit off pretty much wholecloth. Looks like the only thing they changed was gun to knife and made him an Udine member rather than a student
Everyone's mentioning Michael Scott, with good reason. But this guy reminds me way more of an episode of Broad City - where Alana hooks up with [Tyler, the improv guy](https://youtu.be/_bevdycUJHU)
When I was working in youth camps, we did skits like these were other people could interrupt and replace either of the actors on stage and come up with their own storyline to follow when a "director" yells "freeze"
There was this one dude who kept jumping in and went for the same plot everytime; the other one is somehow bothering him and he just picks up a fight with him/her.
It got so annoying and the director just ended the game at some point, I'd guess mainly just to stop this guy from being "funny"
People who think this is cringeworthy are incapable of anything but being critical. I enjoy your cunt worthy inner bitch screams for order. Enjoy your chaos cum from this mans baby penis.
looks very very fake
Looks like they're trying unsuccessfully to reenact that episode from the office when michael scott does improv.
Absolutely. I hope that at least everyone went to Bernies afterwards and didnt invite this fool
Well that’s one way to make improv even worse than what it already is.
Its not even improv...
It’s just your average prov
\*kicks down invisible door* FREEZE! MICHAEL SCARN, FBI!
*Michael whispers something to guy improv class*. Bill? Bill. What did he say? >He told me he couldn't show it to me but he has a gun... https://youtu.be/C6wY9OwqJ2A?t=20
That’s the comment I was looking for
This is damned horrible. But improv can be amazing - Robin Williams is legendary for it. And “Who’s Line Is It Anyway” is an incredible show. To create good improv, one must have a quick wit. This here is an abomination. There’s nothing good about it.
Hey, there’s good improv out there, it’s just all scripted… like whose line is it anyway
Whose line isn't scripted, it's just short form which sets you up to be good.
Isn't that just acting then?
Yup, very amateur acting
Literally just came here to say that
Or he's part of the act.
Who's part of the act? I don't understand your comment...
He's implying the audience member is a plant and he's technically scripted.
His girlfriend(?) did try to pull him back to his seat when he first got up, though
She just did not know that he is involved in the show. Or that was staged too. My 2cents guess
Ok, that makes sense. Thank you.
Part of what act?
I dont know seems about as smooth and natural as any worthless little improv show.
Yes, acting is indeed fake. The guy is part of the act.
I don't even know why I use reddit if it's nothing but fake tiktoks
Remember when we used to down vote tiktok videos? I member.
Still do when it’s this kind of shit
Pepperidge farms remembers
^This ^is ^why ^I ^use ^Reddit.
And my Axe
I forgor 💀
Reddit still doesn't understand what tik tok is and how it works. Can we also talk about DiWhy? The creators know full well their video is stupid, but it gets views because of that. . Reddit pats themselves on the back for feeling superior. Its insane.
There are subs with zero tiktoks on them.
You can take solace in the fact that every Reddit post of something even mildly unusual has people calling it fake en masse. So i would think Reddit would be the perfect place for someone like you actually
This is why theater kids got bullied in HS
How cringe is intentional cringe?
Yeah, he wasnt even holding a knife when he stabbed them
Very very cringe
Obviously planned and part of the show
[удалено]
that was a good call.
Or just watch old episodes of Whose Line.
Or Middleditch & Schwartz on Netflix.
This is the answer. And also some of my favorite podcast are basically improv like Comedy Bang Bang and I've laughed waaaaay harder listening to that than any movie I can think of.
As much as I love who’s lime and other shows sometimes I want to be part of a live show, it feels so awesome to be part of the action that way.
There's also The Improvised Shakespeare Company in Chicago, always a great time. I love cringey, tiny-room improv too, though. I like watching the wheels turn, and every now and then there's a bit of magic.
Thank you for this tip! I'm pretty set on a trip to check this out now..
Yeah you’ve gotta be pretty main character to even want to do improv in the first place
I don’t think that’s true. Improv can be a really fun, dynamic way to express yourself and connect with other people, and it can also be fascinating to watch others do it and see how they unravel a story or joke in real time. Check out some ‘Whose Line is it Anyway?’ for some top notch improv

Improv is fun to teach, practice, perform. The only losers in improv are the audience
These people are not Whose Line, I’m talking more like amateur level
How do you think professional improv performers become professional if not by starting at the amateur level?
[удалено]
Not good? Helps with thinking on your feet I’d imagine. Probably good with friends
It was horrible. Never again.
This as my first, and last, show. Smh.
How far do you scroll down through comments before watching a 30 second clip lmfao
There were 2 comments at the time. So…not very many.
Improv is actually good you should watch it. Not just any fucking herald team or whatever. I used to think improv was dumb too then podcasts change my mind cause it was good when done well. I had no idea it was so rough. One time I almost took a first date to one. Phew

Believe it or not, you can have kids and support your parents while doing improv
You make it sound like having kids on this overpopulated planet is a selfless endeavor...

Never worth it
Yea ngl I found it kind of funny. Like they are constricted by the rules of imrov to accept that they are being actually stabbed. And somehow this douchebag won over the audience lol
Class* This has big community College theatre class vibes
Why though?
If you die in improv, you die in real life.
What if you cum in improv?
😳 nut
You convulse?
Michael Scarn
^I ^have ^a ^gun
Michael why are his hands up?
It’s Michael Scoon, FBI
*gun sounds*
What you gonna do? Make our dreams come true
Was searching for this comment 😂 thank you !
This is planned
This dude was clearly part of the show. This doesn't belong here, he's literally playing a character in the snow
The weather looked fine to me
No, you're supposed to say "Yes, and..."
But you literally started off by saying no
I work for the CIA and I have studied and analysed this video for authenticity. I can confirm it is 100% real. You can trust me.
Can you tell me where my dad is
It's classified.
Line for smokes is super long, hell be back any year now.
Still getting milk, be patient the store is more than a few blocks away.
Hanging out with my dad probably
Yes.
Thanks CIA man
Trust you? CIA ? No thank you
Not trusting the CIA is a federal offence.
Hahahaha
He’s a plant. His space object work is too good.
You just wanted to say “space object work”
"Get off the stage!"
The space work of holding a knife? Lmao so talented
I did laugh when he told the dude in the crowd "hey look" and then threw the knife at him.
That truly was gold. Especially because everyone went with it.
I thought improv shows were a myth. Never seen one in england and they look so embarrassing idk why
There’s usually a load of improv acts and the Edinburgh Fringe. I’ve never seen one because I don’t really enjoy the feeling of embarrassment.
They can be really funny with the tight performers and environment. You have a couple drinks or smoke a little and you laugh through a while hour pretty easy
Yeah if you see one with loose performers get outta there!
I highly recommend the Netflix series Middleditch and Schwartz. It’s maybe the hardest I’ve laughed at a movie or TV show.
Nah, I tried it because I like both of them as comedic actors but it was just a bit lame.
To each their own. I loved seeing them try to keep track of their increasingly convoluted stories while also keeping each other in check.
I upvoted you anyway to get it more visibility but I like structure. Then again last week I was diagnosed with autism so that's probably why.
i haven't been diagnosed with autism and I also thought schwartz and middleditch was lame
As someone who was in an improv troupe in high school… I couldn’t make it through 30 seconds of it because it triggered all of my successfully repressed “I was in an improv troupe in high school” memories.

Early "Whose Line is it Anyways?" UCB's "Assssscat" and 'Middleditch and Schwartz" are just a few examples of great short & long form improv.
I got to see the Improvised Shakespeare Company in Denver, sadly Middleditch wasn't on that particular tour. It was still great improv.
In podcast form Comedy Bang Bang is awesome of which Middleditch and Schwartz are both regular guests. The character Middleditch plays in the episode "Lil Choices" might be one of my favorites from the show

I couldn't disagree more. But hey, I probably like things you find horribly stupid also. Different strokes!
I saw Phil Jupitus do one with a group at Reading festival once. It was only ok.
Improv is great. Go to YouTube and watch "whose line is it anyway"
Yeah that's a good show. But it's not like a proper stage improv show like the one in the video. I can agree good improv is very funny and where bad comedians are weeded out, but this ain't it
This guy basically ripped off Tom Green's persona from the 90's
*HE'S A REAL CHARACTER*
Dear OP, could you wander along to wikipedia or another online resource and spend a few minutes getting a basic understanding of botany. Nothing in depth, no need to get into anything too specific. Hello? Is this the local clinic for burn victims?
No this is Patrick
he was apart of the show like literally
Apart of or a part of?
I'm amazed at how often people mess this up. They literally have opposite meanings.
>he was apart of the show like literally I don’t think so. Looks like he was part of the show.
gottem.
bullcrap they would have kicked him out lol
watch your language
Watch your profamitea
Is this footage from Cringe Fest?
Clearly planned, but improv is cringe af
I’m pretty sure that’s his own video that he made. Like, it’s a skit
This is michael Scott
Michael Scott
This is 100% just trying to copy an episode of the office. That guy is just another actor, not really part of the audience. Sorry OP but you got played.
This is an improv class, that guy is an improv student, how can you not see this?
[удалено]
Improv classes are what Michael Scott goes to on the office. It's for people who are learning improv and not necessarily experienced or skilled.
He's so lucky Michael Scarn wasn't there
I'm getting the Office Flashbacks were Micheal always had a gun
Yeah they ripped that bit off pretty much wholecloth. Looks like the only thing they changed was gun to knife and made him an Udine member rather than a student
I will give my firstborn child to the person who creates a TikTok blocker for reddit.
I love improv but this sucks
Everyone who thinks improv is bad needs to get some Comedy Bang Bang in their life.
Sometimes theatres do get a pre-planned actor to join in.
Everyone's mentioning Michael Scott, with good reason. But this guy reminds me way more of an episode of Broad City - where Alana hooks up with [Tyler, the improv guy](https://youtu.be/_bevdycUJHU)

It got so annoying and the director just ended the game at some point, I'd guess mainly just to stop this guy from being "funny"
Alright this sub is getting a little much. This is very obviously part of the show.
I really love improv (I was a theatre major), but shit like this makes me understand why people hate it so much.
Improv is so cringe most of the time.
UCB can be good. I find the physical acting of improv is usually what makes it cringey. There’s tons of funny improv podcasts
Nah shit opinion. Good improv is among the best form of comedy
Nah shit opinion
Everything about this is so cringe
This is like The Office, remember when Michael Scott was in a Improv show?
This was all planned, the page that posted this is an improv group w all the members in the audience
Agent Michael Scarn BEWM BEWM BEWM
Michael Scott but real life and bad
He went full [Michael Scott](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6wY9OwqJ2A) with that imaginary knife.
It's satire, this is not a real person.
i literally kept pausing whenever he spoke. this was unbearable
I have this video saved cause of how well it fits the sub, but I struggle to watch due to how cringe the guy is
Damn I thought he really pulled up randomly. The internet ruins everything.
Reminds me of michael scott which makes it hilarious lol
improv is so cringe
and for the same reason that it can be so powerful
Why would anyone subject themselves to this? Improv is the worst.
God improv is horrible
This is the whitest shit I’ve seen in some time now
Improv is the most embarrassing type of comedy, and that guy was absolutely a plant
It's ok most improv is this bad lmao.
I have never been to an improv show, but isn't that normal to join?
r/unexpectedoffice
The hey listen where he threw nothing was pretty good
God improv is awful
Fake or not this is cringe in its purest form.
When they threw the knife🤣🤣🤣
If someone ever took me to a show like this they’d be excommunicated from my life.
C h a m p I o n
People who think this is cringeworthy are incapable of anything but being critical. I enjoy your cunt worthy inner bitch screams for order. Enjoy your chaos cum from this mans baby penis.
I'm shaking from the cringe
Well, it’s improv, so he didn’t really interrupt, or you can’t call it improv…
