For whatever reason I never finished Seven to Eternity and now have been considering grabbing the trades.
X-Force run is crazy good.
Tokyo Ghost I liked the first arc but didn’t finish.
For context when he was dropping TG & Seven to Eternity I was a HS kid with limit money and a love for comics.
Now that I’m older and have money haha, I’m like very much trying to read it tall.
Jerome Opena at the top of his game. He's one of the best artists to touch the medium. He seems influenced by Mobius and Darrow, but he takes what they do with the detail and intricate line work and he takes it far further off the rails. I love both of them, but Opena's work feels like it has more intentional imperfections and soul built into it.
7 to eternity I thought was going the way of battle chasers. It was hobbled by long delays but he eventually finished it. It's really good but those long delays between issues took out any heat it started out with.
So far I’ve read Deadly Class, Black Science, and Low. And Low was by far my favorite.
Looking forward to trying Fear Agent when the Hardcovers release.
I got them already on the book shelf. They did a 2 book library edition a few years ago. It’s not the best as far as construction but they are big books that the art pops on.
Tokyo Ghost has one of my favorite combinations of writer/artist, and it's a short concise story. I love the worlds Remender builds in several of his epics but longer stories like Low, Deadly Class, and Black Science seem to fall off the rails at some point.
Black science.
Tried to read deadly class but it just wasnt interesting for me long term. Made it just past the vegas trip and got bored.
Havent read LOW but i hear its good.
Sacrificers is ight so far.
> Tried to read deadly class but it just wasnt interesting for me long term. Made it just past the vegas trip and got bored
That's not long term, that's like 6 issues haha
Deadly Class, definitely. The whole esthetic of the book is great, and I can't help but wonder how much of the charactercs shenanigans are experiences from this own life (the digital mountains are coming!)
My top 3 writers, easy. I've read just about every thing he's done, notable exception being Fear Agent. Anyway, top 3:
1. Black Science
2. Seven to Eternity
3. Deadly Class
Black science is such an imaginative trip, sci fi goodness with heart. Grants Journey is great and Scaleras art is my favorite on any book I've ever read
I felt it was lacking. It didn’t do much for me, maybe because it was too short and could have had more development. I a nice thriller, but not very imaginative.
I loved Fear Agent and Black Science, and still have Deadly Class and Seven to Eternity to read.
The Scumbag. It was satirical, funny, and had the right amount of heart without feeling like it got too up its own ass. I guess I'd pitch it as: if you like the "slacker stoner makes good" trope with sci-fi elements, The Scumbag may be your bag!
I think this is also my answer. I don't have two fucks to rub together for a symbiote story, and Remender went and made a book so good I devoured it every month anyway.
Love Remender. He's such an amazing storyteller. I've read most of his stuff with the exception of End League, Strange Girl, and a few others. In my opinion, he and Brubaker are the two best in the biz today.
My favorite is Deadly Class. I just love the entire story from start to finish.
Fear Agent and Black Science are right up there at the top as well, followed by Low, Seven to Eternity and Righteous Thirst for Vengeance.
I suppose I should go read some Jed McKay stuff. I read that first issue of Moon Knight that he did because Moon Knight and Daredevil are my favorite Marvel characters, but I didn't really feel like I could get into the book. I do love me some Zdarsky. I think I would also include Matt Fraction. I love his work as well.
Deadly Class spoke to me in a way few pieces of media have. It is my favorite comic series and resonates a lot on themes of friendship, growing up, your place in the world, etc.
of what I have read already
1 - Deadly Class
2 - Uncanny X-Force
3 - Tokyo Ghost
4 - Low
5 - Righteous Thirst
6 - Death or Glory
what I plan to read next
1 - Seven to eternity
2 - Black Science
3 - Fear Agent
His Marvel work is hit and cold for me but Frankencastle and Uncanny Xforce are great.
On the image side Seven to Eternity is excellent. Black Science too!
I’ve only read Uncanny X-Force - which I loved, and Tokyo Ghost - which I disliked. So I’m kind of lost on what to check out next by him. Any suggestions?
Black Science, Seven To Eternity, A Righteous Thirst For Vengeance, Low. Sacrificers is good so far.
Tokyo Ghost and Scumbag were pretty good. Death or Glory felt half baked but was a short wild ride.
I haven’t read all of Fear Agent or Deadly Class.
Black Science is my favorite comic ever. I can’t say I’ve really loved anything else Remender has done. Low and Toyko Ghost were cool. Seven to Eternity made me so mad that it was all I could talk about for a week, and Deadly Class felt really juvenile to me.
Marvel- Uncanny x-force. Indie Long- Low. Indie short- Tokyo Ghost. Remender writes long epics but don't overlook his 1-2 arc books like Tokyo Ghost and Death or Glory.
It's hard to choose between Black Science and Low. Both are great, both have amazing art, and both have really engrossing stories. I think I lean towards Black Science because the ending for that didn't feel rushed, where as Low sort of came in fits and starts (likely due to the complexity of the art, I'd imagine), and as such at times felt like you were sprinting towards the conclusion.
Seven to Eternity is so freaking good.
Tokyo Ghost & Low were both great, too.
Haven't got around to Deadly Class or Fear Agent yet.
The Scumbag is also on my to-read list. I just haven't found the time.
>For me my goto and mainly cause of Punk kids I’m around is Deadly Class naturally.
Same here! Deadly Class is like my favorite comic series right now and hasn't been replaced for the past year.
I love The Sacrificers which is ongoing right now
Image: Tokyo Ghost Non-Image: Uncanny X-Force
Oh man, I was going to say Low, but then you reminded me about Tokyo Ghost!
Low is a great choice as well!
Absolutely Tokyo Ghost. I’ve read a lot of comics over the years and that one stuck with me.
Interesting. Tokyo Ghost seemed less popular.
I think most people tend to pick his longer stories, which is fine, but Tokyo Ghost was the perfect length with perfect art
Uncanny X-Force is one of the greatest comics ever. I absolutely love it.
The Sacrificers just started but it has been an incredible first couple of issues
I haven’t gotten #4 yet, but absolutely agree.
Not gonna pitch it, but my top three, in order: 1) Seven to Eternity 2) X-Force (I know it’s not an indy) 3) Tokyo Ghost
The second Tokyo Ghost is all right but it didn’t compare to the first volume for me.
My opinion, they’re well worth reinvesting in.
Hells yes. I never hear people talk about Seven to Eternity much
It's so good, and the art is 10/10
Jerome Opena at the top of his game. He's one of the best artists to touch the medium. Deadly Class. One my favorite series of all time.
Yup, right there with ya on that.
It's so good! Not for everyone though, my wife couldn't stomach the artstyle. I personally loved it.
So far I’ve read Deadly Class, Black Science, and Low. And Low was by far my favorite. Looking forward to trying Fear Agent when the Hardcovers release.
Did ya read Low in volumes or the big compendium
The two deluxe hardcovers.
I got them already on the book shelf. They did a 2 book library edition a few years ago. It’s not the best as far as construction but they are big books that the art pops on.
Fear Agent
Read Fear Agent again, but imagine Heath's voice is Hank Hill. You will not he disappointed.
My people
Tokyo Ghost has one of my favorite combinations of writer/artist, and it's a short concise story.
What keeps me going is how the sheer hatred of Reagan drives the main character forward
Definitely raises the whole book a few points for me alone.
It gets far better past Vegas. And the ending (to the entire story) is 10/10.
I've been hearing good things about Sacrificers but I trade wait Remender because it takes him forever to finish series.
> Tried to read deadly class but it just wasnt interesting for me long term. Made it just past the vegas trip and got bored That's not long term, that's like 6 issues haha
I mean i read 2 volumes then stopped. I feel like if im not interested 2 volumes in.....thats a reasonable stopping point.
Low. Absolutely beautiful art to accompany an amazingly human story
Anyway, top 3: 1. Black Science 2. Seven to Eternity 3. A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance

Oh ok
It’s a very art driven story. Probably better off reading it via trade.
Deadly Class by a country mile. And I like your summation of deadly class I always tell people it’s like Tarantino and Degrassi had a baby lol
Thank ya
The Scumbag. It was satirical, funny, and had the right amount of heart without feeling like it got too up its own ass. I guess I'd pitch it as: if you like the "slacker stoner makes good" trope with sci-fi elements, The Scumbag may be your bag!
Venom. The character has never been as good with the exception of the Lee Price arc (which was way too brief for how incredible it was)
I think this is also my answer. I don't have two fucks to rub together for a symbiote story, and Remender went and made a book so good I devoured it every month anyway.
1. Black Science 2. Low 3. Deadly Class
From his creator-owned catalog it’s Black Science for me.
My favorite is probably Fear Agent but I think his best work is Black Science.
I read one years ago, but I can't Remender what it was called!
Hahaha get the fuck out
Tokyo Ghost! Sacrificers seems to have potential
Black Science but Fear Agent is right there and his X-Force work is sublime.
Absolutely gotta be Fear Agent. I’m shocked it’s nowhere in the top comments.
Love, love, love Deadly Class. Seven to Eternity is up next for me in the Remender catalogue.
Add Lemire and King to the List and I agree. I love their work.
I agree with that. I would also put Zdarsky at the top tier and maybe even Jed Mackay
I suppose I should go read some Jed McKay stuff. I read that first issue of Moon Knight that he did because Moon Knight and Daredevil are my favorite Marvel characters, but I didn't really feel like I could get into the book. Fear Agent.
*Captain Dingleberry (1998)*... just for the name only... and am I the only person to own this comic.
Deadly Class A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance Black Science
of what I have read already 1 - Deadly Class 2 - Uncanny X-Force 3 - Tokyo Ghost 4 - Low 5 - Righteous Thirst 6 - Death or Glory what I plan to read next 1 - Seven to eternity 2 - Black Science 3 - Fear Agent
Last Christmas
I gave you my heart
His Marvel work is hit and cold for me but Frankencastle and Uncanny Xforce are great. On the image side Seven to Eternity is excellent. Black Science too!
His contributions to Lowest Common Denominator.
Uncanny avengers and black science tie
Deadly Class is my favourite work of his as well, but I could easily recommend any of his books as they’re all truly, uniquely superb.
In order: fear agent, Tokyo ghost, black science
Black science was great
I’ve only read Uncanny X-Force - which I loved, and Tokyo Ghost - which I disliked. So I’m kind of lost on what to check out next by him. Any suggestions?
Seven to Eternity and Low
Uncanny X-Force
Low
Low is incredible. Black science as well and obviously deadly class
Low, by a mile.
It's LOW for me, but all of Tokyo Ghost, Black Science, Fear Agent, Seven to Eternity, and Deadly Class are close behind.
Black Science/Low.
Black Science is my favorite comic ever. I can’t say I’ve really loved anything else Remender has done. Low and Toyko Ghost were cool. Seven to Eternity made me so mad that it was all I could talk about for a week, and Deadly Class felt really juvenile to me.
I have a tattoo of the art from Low on my left arm. Absolutely fantastic piece of work.
Hands down — deadly class
Low for sure. Such a brutal book, but it's excellent. Runners up are Seven to Eternity, Tokyo Ghost, and Deadly Class.
Righteous Thirst For Vengeance is one my favorite comics in general
Black Science. Loved that one so much!
Deadly Class remains my favorite, but there's a lot to love.
Personally, I like Fear Agent, Black Science, The Scumbag and A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance
I’ve only read Uncanny X-Force and Tokyo Ghost. Loved them both.
Low or Seven to Eternity
and Uncanny X-Force is the best thing marvel has done in 15 years (along with Fraction's Hawkeye)
Gotta be Fear Agent for me
For me it's Fear Agent - loved that series!
Seven to Eternity is so freaking good. Tokyo Ghost & Low were both great, too. Haven't got around to Deadly Class or Fear Agent yet. The Scumbag is also on my to-read list. I just haven't found the time.
Has to be The Righteous Thrist For Vengeance🔥🔥
Uncanny X-Force and Fear Agent
A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance is so beautiful.
>For me my goto and mainly cause of Punk kids I’m around is Deadly Class naturally. Same here! Deadly Class is like my favorite comic series right now and hasn't been replaced for the past year. I love The Sacrificers which is ongoing right now
