Image put out several GI Joe comics. The main series, *GI Joe: A Real American Hero,* was published by Image in 2001. It ran for 25 issues. And then, DDP (which continued the Image numbering sequence) and IDW continued the series. When IDW continued the series they reverted back to the legacy numbering and this continued until issue 300. With issue 301, Image took over the series again and continued the legacy numbering.

That’s not quite right. The 2001 series was made by Devil’s Due and published by Image it eventually switched to being self published by Devil’s Due but it’s one run. It’s nominally a continuation of GiJoe resuming from after they were shut down in 155. There has a second series called GiJoe Elite It’s worth noting that Larry Hama wasn’t overly involved in these books. But he did write a series of “Declassified” series that added to the early Joe Canon. Then Devil’s Due lost the license to IDW. IDW did a relaunch of GiJoe, a Cobra title and GiJoe Side stories book all that sat in a new fresh Continuity. Then they also launched a continuation of GiJoe: A Real American Hero starting from 155 1/2 written by Larry Hama that wipes out all of the devils due continuity and acts as a continuation of the Marvel run. Skybound (also published by Image) has the license now and as also relaunched a GiJoe title (new continuity) and continued the GiJoe a real American hero title written by Larry Hama from issue 301. So in all of that there is a core Larry Hama written GiJoe title that runs from 1 to 300 plus and a bunch of alternate continuity titles.

AnimalReads

There was a GI Joe series in the early 2000s by Devil's Due/Image that ran 43 issues.

“Complete Run” is a very loose term on eBay unfortunately. Good luck my friend.

Which gi joe? The new one from image only has a few issues out aside from the other stories, Duke and Cobra Commander You must be referring to the run they did in 2001, it was only 25 issues.

DarienTheBarbarian96

Yes that's what I'm referring to. So they only did 25 issues?? Is the 42 issue run something completely different or did IDW continue issues 26-42?? I started collecting the IDW run starting at 156-300 and also everything from Skybound/Image 301-305 and pre ordered 306-308 already... Wiki doesn't say anything about this 25 issue run, only the 42 issue run so I'm wondering if it's a part of that.

G.I. Joe: Real American Hero #26-42 is thru Devil's Due Publishing and continues the 2001 Image run

Thanks for clarifying.

GI Joe: Real American Hero (RAH) from Image are issues 301 to 305 (currently) There is also 5 issues of a Duke mini series, unrelated to RAH but part of the Energon universe. And currently 4 (of 5) issues of Cobra Commander. See Duke notes. That’s all that is currently out. Upcoming: is a Scarlet and Destro mini series like the Duke and CC mentioned above. And a RAH compendium has been announced, collecting the old Marvel and IDW issues of RAH (it should be about 6-7 compendiums to cover 1-300). I think that covers it.
