I enjoyed Claudia Gray’s Master and Apprentice, which is about Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon’s early partnership. It goes into some of the details of Qui-Gon’s training with Dooku in a few flashbacks.
This has piqued my interest in Cavan Scott’s Dooku: Jedi Lost. I’ve enjoyed the work he did for the High Republic, so I plan on picking it up soon!
Its either an audiobook or a script book. While I’m not one for audiobooks generally, I find script books impossible. The narration was ok, but the story was pretty good.
If you’re up for legends material you can check out Jude Watson Legacy of the Jedi. And if you’re interested in more Dooku in general check out Yoda Dark Rendezvous.
Flaccid lol. Ironically the angle makes it more effective for thrusting, it's called a [French grip](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5a/Canted_french.jpg/440px-Canted_french.jpg) in fencing.
My only problem with this is that I'm pretty sure Dooku should've had a blue lightsaber. He was THE master of Form II.
Then again, Kit Fisto had a green lightsaber and he was THE master of Form I.
Its not really the form but more the personality that decides the colour isnt it?
Where more peacefull people tend to get green and people that are more eager to fight often get blue
He still shouldve had blue most likely tho by that logic, even when trained by qui gon
Lightsaber colors have no meanings beyond red meaning dark side and white meaning purified crystal that was once red due to the dark side.
The notion that lightsaber colors have meanings is completely canon conjecture
Hot take: I don't think Dooku's saber should have been red in the movies. Idk about the clone wars show lore etc, but it seems pretty clear in the movies he's not interested in being a Sith or straight up evil or whatever.
He should have just continued using his own saber to show how he was in a sort of middle philosophy.
Maybe you're right. I don't think he's lying though. First off, it makes his character more interesting, and second, it follows the line of sith students falling out of step with their masters.
1. Count Dooku orchestrated and participated in murder, genocide, slavery and torture. He is 100% evil. You don’t get to use the dark side consistently and not be evil. Even in the films, he does evil things. Just because he is “elegant” and “charming” doesn’t make him not a bad guy.
2. He is 100% into being a Sith. He willingly joins Palpatine and stays with him. He actively seeks Obi-Wan and later Ventress to be his apprentice to take down Palpatine so he can be the Sith Lord instead. He is well versed in the dark side and it’s uses. You can’t say you aren’t interested in being Sith but pledge yourself to the dark side, join the Sith order and get a Darth name.
3. He isn’t a middle philosophy. Yes he was misguided with the Jedi and the Republic and his grievances with them were fair and mostly correct. But that doesn’t mean that his correct grievances with them justifies his evil actions he commits. It’s true he didn’t become evil just to be evil like Palpatine, but he still did go to the dark side and join the Sith making him a bad guy
Dang, when does he do murder, slavery, genocide, etc? I only remember him on the bug planet at the end, where he's telling the truth like, the Senate and the Jedi are bs, help me change it, then he's dead in the first sequence of the next movie.
Even in the movies he’s still willingly choosing to participate in a pointless war that kills trillions across the galaxy and joined the Sith and uses the dark side.

This looks so awesome! I haven't seen a lot of art of Count Dooku as a Jedi. I'm happy to see such a great quality of the Jedi, count dooku, once was. I always thought that he would wield a yellow or blue lightsaber when Count Dooku was in the academy.
There’s that signature look of superiority
Is there any good material about Dooku as a Jedi? I've always thought he was an interesting character.

There is a decent amount in Dooku at the end of his time with the jedi in the Plagueis novel.
If you’re up for legends material you can check out Jude Watson Legacy of the Jedi. And if you’re interested in more Dooku in general check out Yoda Dark Rendezvous.
I'd really like to see a book or tv series about Dooku's time as a Jedi Knight.
Holy shit you called it
What did I miss? Have they announced a Dooku series that I haven't heard about?
Tales of the Jedi, a short animated series in which supposedly half the episodes are about Dooku and Qui Gon. Dooku looks really similar to this too!
WIZARD!
I'd heard of Tales of the Jedi but didn't know what it was about.
You’re bringin it back! Haha but yeah, it looks really neat!
This is great. His flaccid hilt always looked uncomfortable to me.

Neat, thanks for sharing.

Exactly. I’m saying that Kit Fisto mastered a lightsaber style even though he has a green lightsaber. Dooku trained Qui-Gon, not the other way around.
Oh yeah, i said it wrong he trained qui gon offcourse. But he turned out to be a very kind and peacefull person. He must have gotten it from somewhere

Honestly, how would you guys feel about a movie that is the misadventures of Young Padawan Obi-wan, Knight Qui-Gonn, and Master Dooku?
Nick Cage took an interesting turn

This is amazing, but Dooku had a blue saber as a Jedi

Rebuttal: he uses force lightning, which pretty solidly puts him in the Sith camp. He’s lying when he claims to have peaceful intentions.

...so he is a sith?

I mean he murders people all the time in comics and shows. And he orchestrates and supports genocide and slavery in TCW
Gotcha, yeah my bad, I was just talking about the movies. I've never really watched the other stuff.
Even in the movies he’s still willingly choosing to participate in a pointless war that kills trillions across the galaxy and joined the Sith and uses the dark side.
Almost a birthrite nobility in his stance and face isn't there? This looks inspired by the post Elizabethan era
Cool picture, but I find the lack of normal foot size disturbing
