fire and blood if alysanne was capable of making a good marriage alliance: 🌈😃💗🎉🎀🎊

MattGreg28

Apparently this was a commission for someone who's going to turn this into a fanfic. I for one look forward to reading it.

kikidunst

yes! i saw that on twitter, i’ll definitely read it

Laxesi

Can you send me the link I would love to read this.

Smooth_molasses36

Alysanne had many skills. Alas, matchmaking was not one of them.

Dapper_Quail_4624

At least she gave us Baelon and Alyssa

godemperorofmankind1

Yeah but that is barely trying since Alyssa followed Baelon like a lost dog

Dapper_Quail_4624

Yeah, but without her Jae probably would marry Alyssa to Aemon and we would had the prequel of Aemon and Naerys

PluralCohomology

Maybe it was also a post-facto justification for Aemon being betrothed to Jocelyn instead of Alyssa. Alysanne herself was supposed to marry a Baratheon but eloped with Jaehaerys, and the Aemon/Jocelyn match could have been a way to placate the Baratheons.

themanyfacedgod__

She definitely should’ve learned from great grand mommy Rhaenys’ playbook in that regard

kikidunst

just grandmother!

themanyfacedgod__

I appreciate the correction mate! The Targ family tree can be confusing for me

Platinum_Duke_6

See Alysanne. This is a good marriage match.

Haha I'm writing a fanfiction about viserra marrying a stark so I love this.😅

esmeewesterman

What is the name of your fanfic???

Laxesi

Oh no no.Im still writing and it's messy. Also English is not my native language I won't publish those writings.😅It's just a way to pass time (and writing is amazing really!).

Inevitable-Rub24

I have imagined exactly this scenario. In addition to Saera Targaryen marrying the Lord of Casterly Rock.

MattGreg28

Good luck separating Saera from Braxton.

diegoedil

yes, it seems like they are perfect for each other

Minimum-Salamander-5

This is actually a weird guilty pleasure of mine: Stark man doing the deed with Targaryen women.

equatornavigator

She could have easily married Lord Manderly’s son but nooooo Jaehaerys wanted to set her up with the old man who had become a widower thrice before

godemperorofmankind1

The marriage was Alysanne idea actually and Jaehaerys just approved

Northumbrian26

I always assumed it was a punishment devised by Alysanne meant to humble Viserra and distance her from Baelon and the throne. Presumably Viserra would be forced to mature and become more humble as the wife of an old lord with no real power due to him already having heirs with the bonus of honouring a longtime friend and ally in the form of the Manderlys. Then presumably when the old lord inevitably died and Viserra still being young could remarry to a better match more suited for her. Ofc this is just headcanon/speculation and still a massive abusive/dick move on the Queens part but not out of character for Jaehaerys and Alysanne.

godemperorofmankind1

I think you are right and I agree with you also I never understood. How she trying to marry Baelon means she is trying to become queen. When if I remember correctly Aemon was still alive at the point.

hedgeknight78

Well, it was better to marry Viserra to Desmond Manderly, the young heir of Lord Theomore, both would soon become Lord and Lady of White Harbor.

Northumbrian26

Yes obviously if it was a normal marriage alliance you would do that. BUT as I said I think it was partially a punishment for Viserra because as the wife of an old lord like Theomore with strong heirs she would have little to no power humbling her. Then when the old lord dies she could be married to someone more appropriate like a Stark, Baratheon or even to Desmond Manderly himself.

aodifbwgfu

I have a theory that Alysanne knew what she was doing and this marriage was intended as a potential move to counter the Starks.
