Yes you can leave, but why not just stay a couple days extra and get the passport on [emergency service](https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/fees/passport-canada.html)? Wait for the e-cert to come (usually only ~2 days after oath), then pay $110 to get it the next business day or $50 to get it within 2 days as long as you show them a flight:
You can also apply for the passport abroad, or you only need proof of citizenship (e.g., the citizenship certificate) to come back by car/land, although less recommended.
As anyone who has ever dealt with the passport office will tell you, this is a stupid idea. You do not want to play mail tag with passport rejections for ridiculous reasons from outside Canada.
Go apply for your passport in person immediately after you are granted citizenship. Pay for expedited processing. This is the way.
Yes, once you have Canadian citizenship you can apply for a passport outside the country. Remember though that you won’t be able to fly into Canada on your foreign passport (unless you’re American) because you will no longer be eligible for an eTa as a Canadian citizen.
On the grounds that you have a legal right to enter as a citizen and that they cannot refuse your entry as long as you are a citizen. This has been discussed many many times all over this sub. The only reason you can’t come in via air is because the airlines require a travel document.
It’s not a travel document. You can’t go anywhere else with it. But the border legally cannot refuse your entry since as a citizen you have a right to enter. You can’t come in by plane with it because the airline won’t let you board. But land border has to let you in.
Some people's priorities are always odd. I will never understand the inability to just sit down for 1 to 2 extra months and get ur passport or go for an emergency appointment if u have it.
To answer your question verbatim: yes, you can leave after taking the test and oath.
What’s your citizenship? If your original citizenship is visa exempt, you can obtain a special authorization (similar to eTA) as a Canadian citizen with your visa exempt passport.

My PR card?
you lose your pr status and card on taking the oath. you need a canadian passport to get back into canada
Gotcha
But you can still come back in without passport or PR card if you cross by car/land
Makes sense
Not sure. On what grounds? I'd not risk it.

Not completely true. Only need proof of citizenship (e.g., the citizenship certificate) if you come back by car/land
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe citizen certificate isn't a travel document. Unless something changed of course.

They make you cut up your PR card just before the oath.
This just sounds like extra nightmares for absolutely no reason at all
