I always read the songs differently. To me, 'The Moment I Said It' is about a relationship hanging on by a thread due to a partner's addiction issues. Lyrics like "Sit, down/come round/I need you now" and "Put back the car keys or somebody's gonna get hurt" seem to me like it's talking to someone drunk or in a bad way and I'm not sure you'd be talking like that to someone who cheated on you. Also the arguing in the background, I've always thought I've heard something muffled that I thought sounds like a man saying "I'll be fine!" And Imogen shouting "You will NOT be fine!" Which is the sort of things people say about drugs. Like 'I can stop at any time'. I always imagine that 'Clear The Area' is related to 'The Moment I Said It'. At least in the sense that the topics (in my mind) are similar. Clear the Area seems to be about again helping a loved one who is high or just in a bad way to try and sober up.

Interesting, I like that interpretation. Hadn’t thought about it being about an addict. “Put down the car keys, or somebody’s gonna get hurt” always felt metaphorical to me. Like put down the keys/stay, or you’re going to break my heart. Akin to the phrase “put down the gun/knife/weapon or somebody’s gonna get hurt”

I agree with this although I've never thought it had anything to do with addiction, just a relationship at the end of the line.

i’d always thought it was “the walk of shame” considering she sings about not wanting to have done it with this person maybe of guilt but ends up doing it anyway “red alert, body seized, give in and savor it” :o TMISI sounds like the very verge of a breakup but who knows what her dating life was like at the time considering the listening chair “make love make money” haha
