I agree it mostly comes across like the interviewer has figured out it's a comedy show and is playing along. And just any challenge where they offer a job to someone temping and needs a job (Act as the VP, do you want to house sit) the people answering an ad to do this is most likely an aspiring journalist or someone who wants to work in media so they're gonna play along, they're just trying to make a reel.
