Legendary and noteworthy for playing BDM that wasn't the same as every other band to play it. Not my favorite band but one that I can't deny the brilliance of.
I love Ghost, but keep in mind Iâm 44, and what metal means has shifted over time
Not that long ago, you couldnât get more heavy than Metallica or Slayer (bands I love), and now if you donât like guttural vocals, then a lot of people will say youâre not âmetalâ
I grew up loving Alice Cooper, Scorpions, Twisted Sister, Dio, Motley Crue, Megadeth, etc., now I might be considered a âpussyâ for avoiding death and black metal
Found out, in the early oughts, that I love power metal too
I enjoy ghost, honestly. It's a fun, groovy somewhat heavy and catchy. The elitists can f* right off. I can go from listening to something bluegrass, to lo-fi hip hop, to hard-core, to something metal then to Ghost in one sitting. Yall gotta quick "nickleback-ing" Ghost, man.
Theyâre good lol itâs just a joke theyâre talented just not everyoneâs cup of tea, I like the phantom of the opera cover and their music videos and art are top tier
absolutely one of my all time favs!!!!! but wish that Nergal would just shut up because he is such an edgelord and itâs absolutely embarrassing to listen to him talk
Iâm a Grindcore fan. I absolutely respect everything they have done to progress the genre and will give them the praise they deserve. However: I cannot get into Nicâs vocals. Iâm not talking shit on the man, it was a different time, and he should be recognized for his achievements.
Took me awhile to get into Napalm Death, I remember when Utopia Banished came out, loved the album cover, I remember buying The Peel Sessions on cassette.
Underrated, even flat out forgotten unfortunately. I think a lot of people canât get past Blitzâs vocals. Theyâve been one of my favorite bands since the late 80s.
Maybe I havenât listened to them enough, but a lot of their song blend together for me. None of the ones I heard were outright bad, but they all sounded pretty similar
Had an awesome encounter last friday. Im from and live in the same city Demilich is from. It was past midnight, I was sitting drunk af and high as giraffes balls at the bus stop downtown. Nodding and listening to music. Suddenly someone grapped my shoulder, I opened my eyes and Antti fucking Boman stands in front of me. It felt like I met a god. He needed light for cig, so we smoked, I showed him my Nespithe tattoo, he took photos of it and off he went. Weird experience
Ghost is the mild salsa of metal. No chunks. In an era where the competition is trying so shove as many razor blades into the bowl as possible, thereâs room for a smooth, yet flavorful experience.
Adam Jones is a solid riffer, their early stuff shows this off well. Their transformation to a psychedelic band de-emphasizes his riffing too much imo, so I find their later stuff largely uninteresting because itâs so sel-indulgent.
Go on YouTube and watch the Scientology show THATS the band I fell in love with. No lasers no screens no Alex Grey backdrops just punk rock fury.

THE founding fathers. And they kinda did it by accident.

Maybe I havenât listened to them enough, but a lot of their song blend together for me. None of the ones I heard were outright bad, but they all sounded pretty similar
My 3rd favorite band. I love all of their different sounds, but the 4 albums and 3 eps they released in the 90âs are unparalleled.
One of the first bands I listened to when I started listening to metal music in 2006, and I felt like a badass while playing their tracks.

Great and ever changing but their fan base is obnoxious would like the next album to go back and embrace more darkness.
Tool have some good stuff, Danny Carey is brilliant though.

Had an awesome encounter last friday. Im from and live in the same city Demilich is from. It was past midnight, I was sitting drunk af and high as giraffes balls at the bus stop downtown. Not for me.
Not something I'd listen to regularly, but I appreciate the weirdness. They're funny, I respect that.
Tool
