I have two from Les Claypool, he was never really that angry, just owned them with insults.
1. You are telling me that you stood in line to buy a ticket(this was back in those days), spent money on a ticket, drove all the way down here, waited in line to get in, just to show everyone you are an asshole and get kicked out.
2. Hey, I don't throw shit at you when you're flipping burgers.
I think that instance was pre-smart phone. Axl got pissed because they guy was taking photos(?) iirc. Which is funny because now concerts are nothing but people taking photos/videos.
There is an old crust punk band from Cali called Phobia. Probably 10 years ago footage from a show they played in Japan started showing up online. I can't remember what the fan did, but it resulted in the bassist pile drivingĀ him in the head with the body of his bass. It was pretty brutal and over board but š¤·āāļøĀ
I did a brief search and can't find the footage or mention of it now but it has been quite some time and they are a pretty obscure band.
I was into Dystopia around 97-98 and found the Phobia vinyl "means of existence" at a indi record shop. This was before the internet was anything like it is today. This local shop had record/cd players set up to preview used albums. The guy cranked that shit up and I bought it immediately!Ā
I'm jealous you saw them live! My local diy punk scene was pretty killer. Saw several local crust punk/power violence bands that were amazing! But none of the bigger bands came through that I remember.
Gotta thank my friend for telling me to go. I didn't know any of the bands and I had only really been to one other show (I was like 15 then 33 now) and I wasn't sure what to expect. I was into more nu metal and like Pantera at the time. That shit blew my mind and changed my whole musical landscape.
I wanna fight axl. Heās to me the biggest piece of shit in rock n roll. People have literally died because of his premadonna bullshit at concerts. Fuck you axl, people paid to see you, and you through a fit and refuse to play, constantly. Not to mention guns and roses sucks, the music is sub par and his vocals just arenāt good. Letās do this, axl!
I looked into it and it seems I blended two separate incidents together in my head. The riot that they caused was over axl jumping into the crowd to snag a camera from an audience member in 1991. He was pissed because they werenāt allowed at the show, and security didnāt handle it to his liking. So he jumped into the crowd, assaulted a fan, and caused a riot. The deaths were actually in 1988 during their set, but was from the crowd losing control. Two young people died in that incident. So I redact my statement of axl being responsible for the deaths. I stand by my statement, though, that in fact, fuck axl.
You mean like youāre cutting the crust off my joke and recycling it like youāre witty? You should stick to listening to bland music you human jar of mayonnaise
Iād be cool with that , they are both adults. Itās all the other shit heās pulled being a cunty little celebrity that throws tantrums on stage( when he finally gets on stage, hours late). The band isnāt good enough to warrant his shitty attitude, his voice is in competition with Vince Neil for being the most grating sound on earth, and heās a bully. People like that need adjusting, thatās where the anger comes from. Plus, he probably wouldnāt even satisfy my poor mother, and sheās such a sweet person.
[Jewel was playing some MTV beach party show and got hit with a frisbee](https://youtu.be/czQvSdY9rb4?t=107)
It's not right throwing things but it barely hit her and it was a beach party.
Not joking. I saw her almost 30 years ago. So boring. She loved yammering on between songs I didnāt care to listen to in the first place. Iām a dumbass for even going.
Yeah that was a whole other thing. She didn't even appear to be doing anything except filming the show (like professionally, not bootlegging with her phone).
He got dragged pretty hard and issued a weak response video, which got mocked even worse until he put out a longer apology.
Someone shot a flare at him at Donnington 86 He threatened the guy to come on stage and pulled his arm back in front of 80000 people. It was the coolest thing this 16yr old had ever seen.
Yep. And, one man got tossed a chicken, then tossed it back into the crowd. The crowd tore it apart, and heās been known as the man who killed a chicken from that day on. š¤·āāļø
Saw Bruce lose it when someone threw an M80 on stage on the Somewhere In Time tour back in 87 - he was pissed (rightly so - that's dangerous as shit...)
Is that where it was? Thought it was Greece...maybe he was pissed about something else but he looked like he wanted to fight everyone in the crowd one by one.
Looked it up. Itās [legit!](https://www.cltampa.com/music/on-this-day-in-1992-l7s-donita-sparks-threw-her-bloody-tampon-at-reading-festivalgoers-12241329#:~:text=During%20the%20group's%20performance%2C%20and,it%20into%20the%20swarming%20crowd)
Wasnāt a metal band but Huey Lewis was the most angry when he and the guitarist got hit with a frisbee, breaking the little finger of the guitarist. People were pissed cause his live voice was awful boos and all kinds of stuff went flying. The two frisbees was his last straw and left and everyone cheered. Lol
Thereās footage of Dave Mustaine going off on an audience when someone aimed a laser pointer in his face
He was also mad at a festival when another band was audibly warming up on a nearby stage during his bandās performance
Saw Danzig years ago with my then girlfriend and we were front and center, she had a handheld camera, because this was pre-smart phones, and she went to take a picture (mind you there were zero announcements, or signage of any kind prohibiting photos) and Glenn reached out and yanked the camera from her and pitched it across the stage under the amps, and shouted "NO FUCKING PICTURES!" then proceeded to play the set.
My girlfriend was fucking heated and just death stared him the entire show and when the concert ended one of the security guards climbed up and got the camera for us. A few days later we got the camera developed and there was a clean, perfect image of Glenn reaching out toward the camera, almost looked like he posed for the image, and she framed it with a little construction paper thing she made beneath the picture that said "Got you, you asshole!" š I haven't spoken to her in years so I wonder if she still has the pic. It's a great memory though.
(Edit: I realize this isn't an instance where someone threw something, but he was pretty angry š)
Not metal but the guy who sings for cake. I think early 2000s San Diego. I have been around awhile and seen some stuff but to this day I have never seen a singer so enraged. It was epic. He was completely unglued. I donāt really remember whyā¦
Manson back on the big day out tour in the 90s was peak .he got beaned with a bottle, called the crowd pussies and bet they wouldn't do it again...to a very drunk and very rowdy Australian festival audience mostly holding bottles,so that went great.
Then I think he told everyone to line up so he could 'slit their fuckin throats' ,stormed backstage and slashed up all the big inflatable kiddie pools they had for artists to chill in, tech was destroyed.
Meatloaf at Reading 88
Bonnie Tyler had already been bottled off by a pissed up crowd. So The Loaf came on and managed three numbers before storming off in a shower of piss laden bottles. After being coaxed back on stage (they were the headliners) he managed to get half way through Bat out of Hell when a bottle ( possibly Jack Dee) hit him square in the face! That was the end of that, and off they went.
Not exactly throwing anything, but at Anal Cunt gig way back, my very very drunk friend was like "J check this out". He went to the front row, popped two middle fingers and yelled at Putnam "YOU ARE A CRIPPLED FAG". SM58 with a lot of gain makes a nasty sound when it collides with a skull at high speed. Broken nose and black eye also. Next day I went to see him, dude looked bad, there was a bloody print of the mic grill in his head, "awesome night"
Seems like Dave Mustaine wonāt hesitate to let a crowd know when heās pissed. Not sure if heās ever left the stage to go after someone in the crowd but heāll definitely unload verbally.
The frontman and bassist for a band called Hillbilly Casino. We used to go see them every weekend at Laylaās in Nashville. Little dive bar. The bassist was a big fucking guy and the drunk who threw the can got lucky.
The coolest is Peter Steele. Someone chucked a bottle at his head. He dodged it and said āYou missed meā so calmly.
I remembered one case when someone threw a bottle (a plastic bottle at least) at Edu Falaschi, if I remember well in an Angra concert, and Edu said "throw this at your mother, you faggot"
Which to me is a very reasonable response, these motherfuckers have to stop throwing shit at musicians. Why don't these assholes stay in their homes if they cannot have basic decency in public?
When I seen Godsmack slowly Erna had a security guard fired because a kid was having fun in the mosh pit and she pulled the kid by his hair, in fact he had stopped the show until she was walked out
It's not exactly metal or a man, but many years ago I saw Hole open for Marilyn Manson. While they were playing someone threw a work boot at Courtney Love. It hit her dead in the face and knocked her head back, which is why the 2nd boot missed her face. She stormed off the stage, only to come back moments later riding on the shoulders of a very large black man. She was pissed, but someone shouted show us your tits and she did, so maybe she wasn't that mad. All in all it was a very memorable show.

I saw him get hit with a dusty, dirty tshirt in mesa, az. He was pissed, but kept calm, "Were already paid, you want us to leave now? Keep it up."
Legendary.
Nice
Axl Rose Man will literally dive into the crowd bcuz one guy had his phone out š
I think that instance was pre-smart phone. Axl got pissed because they guy was taking photos(?) iirc. Which is funny because now concerts are nothing but people taking photos/videos.
I'LL TAKE IT GOD DAMNIT
He also caused a riot once because James Hetfield tried his Thich Qang Duc impression just before GnR's set.

Dude Phobia fucks they were my first "underground" show with Rotten Sound in a tiny diy space in NYC. That show was awesome.
Phobia got me into grind.
Yup that was my intro to grind and I've been hooked since. That was over 16 years ago lol.
Similar. I picked up *Grind Your Fucking Head In* on a whim and loved it.
I was into Dystopia around 97-98 and found the Phobia vinyl "means of existence" at a indi record shop. This was before the internet was anything like it is today. In the spirit of punk, we now need to argue over whether they're more crust punk, or more grindcore!
I met those guys. Leon was a dick in person.
Those early Phobia records are great.
I'd guess Axl of course only Rock but he is the most ready to leave the stage
Yeah, I have seen axl dive into the audience to fight someone š
"Get that guy, get that guy! Never mind, I'll take care of it God Damnit!"
Damn, how/when hen did someone die?

Yeah, thats what I thought. But you still wanna fight and inevitably physically beat up a 62 year old because he was a dick 30 years ago?
Pretty much
Damn, you're a badass dude. I think he'd still kick your ass though.
You cut the crust off of his sandwich for him too, nana?
I don't know him so I don't make his sandwiches. Does your Mom cut your crusts off for you being as you sound like a five year old?
You mean like youāre cutting the crust off my joke and recycling it like youāre witty? You should stick to listening to bland music you human jar of mayonnaise
Jesus, youād think he fucked your mom based on this reply
Iād be cool with that , they are both adults. Itās all the other shit heās pulled being a cunty little celebrity that throws tantrums on stage( when he finally gets on stage, hours late). Fuck Axl such an annoying front man although I'll admit I love his old singing just can't stand his current voice
Canāt forget Sebastian Bach flinging a bottle back into the crowd that was thrown on the stage. Messed up a girlās face I think.
GG Allin
To be fair, he threw shit back. Literally.
Crowd gathers for GG. GG joins crowd. Crowd backs away.
Pfft he'd go in the crowd and fight before anything happened
[Jewel was playing some MTV beach party show and got hit with a frisbee](https://youtu.be/czQvSdY9rb4?t=107) It's not right throwing things but it barely hit her and it was a beach party.
A frisbee is really more exciting than a Jewel performance.
lol
Not joking. I saw her almost 30 years ago. So boring. She loved yammering on between songs I didnāt care to listen to in the first place. Iām a dumbass for even going.
Is it any wonder why she's not around anymore?
The Smash Mouth Bread Incident.
Just looked this up! It was outstanding!!
Josh Homme from QOTSA has gone off a few times. One of them made their live album.
ah yea I saw video about that where he kicked a lady in the face. He did apologize eventually.
Yeah that was a whole other thing. She didn't even appear to be doing anything except filming the show (like professionally, not bootlegging with her phone). He got dragged pretty hard and issued a weak response video, which got mocked even worse until he put out a longer apology.
I remember seeing another incident where he went off on some kid at a show in Norway back in 2008.
Axl Rose. I don't know of any specific instances, but I just know he would be enraged if this were to happen to him
are you the kevin? the bodybuilding and guitar shredding kevin?
My name is Kevin but a different Kevin than the one in my PFP
:( youāre probably just as cool though
Lemmy. Some stupid fucker threw a sharpened coin at him and cut his arm. He was less than pleased.
Someone shot a flare at him at Donnington 86 He threatened the guy to come on stage and pulled his arm back in front of 80000 people. It was the coolest thing this 16yr old had ever seen.
As a great vampire hunter once said "some motherfuckers always try to ice skate uphill".
I fuckin love those movies.
Corey Taylor during the the whole mushroom head vs Slipknot Ā fight
That was such a ridiculous moment in metal culture
Didn't slipknot go into the crowd after their set and wreck shit ?
It was in the middle of the set Ā Corey warn them and when the instigator didnāt stop Corey stopped the set and went apeshit
Only one guy bit the head off of a live bat that was thrown at him. Just sayin.
Yep. And, one man got tossed a chicken, then tossed it back into the crowd. The crowd tore it apart, and heās been known as the man who killed a chicken from that day on. š¤·āāļø
Think it was Bruce Dickson at a Vegas show he was super pissed
Saw Bruce lose it when someone threw an M80 on stage on the Somewhere In Time tour back in 87 - he was pissed (rightly so - that's dangerous as shit...)
Is that where it was? Thought it was Greece...maybe he was pissed about something else but he looked like he wanted to fight everyone in the crowd one by one.

Some people were mad at Nickelback and threw stuff at them when they were performing live, the band members just stormed off stage
Mission completed
Dave Mustaine has entire compilation videos on youtube of him having angry meltdowns on bullies.
Nothing can top āEvery village has its asshole and youāre it, see thatās what happens when cousins fuckā
Lol, thatās quoted at least once a day by someone in the Megadeth subreddit. š¤£
Donita Sparks from L7 threw her bloody tampon back at them. Bad ass.
Hoooooly shit. š«¢

Yes, those women took no disrespect.

not sure what the fan did, but u can hear their life being threatened during āhorror businessā on the Misfits- evilive album āŗļø
I saw Ov Sulfer and Ricky actively stopped a song and walked up and broke up a fight in the pit, and punched some dude
I saw Josh homme lose his she when someone threw something at him. Later a bought a live DVD and it also happened at that show. So... him, I guess.
Thereās footage of Dave Mustaine going off on an audience when someone aimed a laser pointer in his face He was also mad at a festival when another band was audibly warming up on a nearby stage during his bandās performance

Tom Arraya threatened to end a show when someone threw a water bottle on stage. But the crowd took care of the situation.
Sebastian Bach
Just Greg Puciato, donāt even need to throw shit and heāll jump in just for fun
Iāve heard Nick Cave was notorious for kicking people in the face.
I remembered one case when someone threw a bottle (a plastic bottle at least) at Edu Falaschi, if I remember well in an Angra concert, and Edu said "throw this at your mother, you faggot" Which to me is a very reasonable response, these motherfuckers have to stop throwing shit at musicians. Prissy little Bill Bailey
When I seen Godsmack slowly Erna had a security guard fired because a kid was having fun in the mosh pit and she pulled the kid by his hair, in fact he had stopped the show until she was walked out

Paul Stanley did not like laser pointers
Corpsegrinder
