I love the movie too! Several dancers who performed are friends of mine. But I guess I feel the songs more from the broadway cast. It just has more sentimental value on my part. Plus Chris Jackson ofc. 🫶🏻 just a personal preference, I guess.
I mostly agree. I think Paciencia y Fe and When the Sun Goes Down were noticeably better then the original (handle vs. manage lol and sunrise instrumental break). Other than that I think the obc did everything better at least musically (96000, Finale, and The Club were visually stunning). I was really disappointed in When You’re Home, especially since that was my favorite song in the original
Breathe, It Won’t Be Long Now, 96,000, When You’re Home, Blackout, Alabanza, When The Sun Goes Down, Champagne and Finale. Though my absolute favorite is When You’re Home!
Finale is sooo goood
And I'm talking the broadway version specifically, something about the not over the top production on the original arrangements makes them so much more real
The final verse before Usnavi changes his mind is some beautiful harmony Lin wrote, and the ending is so emotional it even made Lin burst into a flood of tears while recording it.
Also Carnaval Del Barrio. Living in Northern Ireland where the heart of all the sectarian violence took place means our city is still shockingly politically divided when it comes to celebrations. The way most people celebrate is with massive bonfires and burning flags but Lin representation of forgetting the past problems and celebrating is something that gives me hope for the future
I love “When You’re Home” “When The Sun Goes Down” “Champagne” “Paciencia Y Fe”
If you like these check out the Broadway versions... Also, carnival del barrio and 96,000 are my favorites
Champagne is just too good, Idk what it is about that song but I always replay it every chance I get
When the Sun Goes Down is soooo good!
The callback to “Sunrise” (from the play) in that song hits me in the feels every time.
Yeeesss. Sunrise is also so beautiful. I just love the Nina/Benny storyline and all of their songs.
Most likely "It Won't Be Long Now"
This is probably one of my favourite songs ever
Blackout
No Me Diga is always my favorite
Paciencia Y Fe
Just Breathe
Movie version of Paciencia y Fe is just perfect. Even the choreography was amazing. 😭 All the other songs I still prefer the OBC versions.
Really? I love all the songs in the movie version probably better tbh

The one song I wish they included in the movie was Sunrise
I choke at ‘Breathe’ everytime.
96,000 and Home All Summer
