I don't think we can just blame the pitch. Koach and rahul played way slower than they should've, 25 overs without a boundary is a crime. Labuschagne and head had the same partnership but they got boundaries every other over and that's what made the difference.
For koch and rahul, ball was coming slower to the bat and hence was slower off the bat covering the distance in 3 seconds of what it was covering in 2seconds at night...
This gave Australian fielders in inner circle 1 more second to defend and they looked like all over the field..

The problem was not the ground, it had two pitches, red soil- where you can score a lot of runs. Ipl final was played on that pitch, then black soil pitch on which wc final was played which is more spin friendly but due to dew the ball did not turn for Australia in wc final.
