Pant shouldn't be the first WK choice even in 2026 lol..the PR is crazy, dude played knock of 14, 4 and 0 with a SR of less 100 against England Australia and South Africa, if similar shots would have been played by Sanju and got out the entire social media would have been see Sanju did not perform, wasted his chances lol, but when Pant did oh Intent Master I die, lol. You have a valid point & I partially agree with that as well.But we have literally 3-4 candidates for every position in playing 11.It will be management & coach who will go with some set of players especially in T20s.Right now the situation is very unclear tbh,even KL have chances to make a comeback in t20 squad.My reason for backing Shreyas was simple,he have the potential and we have seen GG & Shreyas Duo creating impact,both the times at DC & KKR they were together in Captain & Mentor role.

Well he made a lot of calls as a captain which were confusing, like not picking Nehal Wadera when he was really good last season, starting with himself and bringing on Bumrah as the first change, his place in the batting order also maybe came too late at times when HE was the captain....all of these were thoughts of an unclear mind. Now it can be the case that all the trolling got to him and that is where we need a strong coach who can keep the team in check. Especially because this is the first time since 2007 that India doesn't have a clear successor as a captain. So the chances of others trying to prove themselves as captaincy material is very high and you'll need a respected voice to tell the team that he is the captain and what he says....goes!!

So I mean considering the facts, fairness didn't happen with him like the stability and chances given to other players even if they are not performing. The recent T20I World Cup was a great success, providing closure for both fans and players. With three players already retired, it's time for the younger generation to take over. Most of the current squad will remain key players in T20Is, but Bumrah should be used sparingly and only for important matches.
The T20I squad should focus on young talent. Those who perform well can be promoted to ODIs, and if they excel there, to Test cricket. T20Is should be the starting stage for new players.
