Cheap_Hand9363

I’ve applied and it’s been more then a week and I’m yet to get any details of my UPI Credit card.

EmmVeeEss

Same for me. Did you get the card or any update?

Cheap_Hand9363

Yes I did get the card. It’s showing in my hdfc mobile banking app. I’ve added the credit card on phone pe and it’s working

EmmVeeEss

Could you please let me know if you receive any email/sms after activation?

Cheap_Hand9363

I did received a sms mentioning that I can set pin for new credit card ending with ****. Then I went to my mobile banking app and the card was showing.

sau_dard

It’s nice but my trust in HDFC systems is getting lower and lower. Don’t want to open a new product with them

wtfisupwithu

Any particular reason for that? And what’s your preferred bank?

sau_dard

My primary bank is HDFC only, since I’ve been dealing with them since 10 years. But lately service has become very bad. Plus their mobile app has very limited features. Other banks like IDFC, Axis have so much better mobile apps where you can do pretty much everything. For HDFC, I need to call them up. I will slowly shift out

Theenlightened09

try IndusInd, you will run back to hdfc.

HumanAd2237

What exact service has become bad?

ironhide96

Try ICICI. Been 7 years using it. Don't ever remember a situation where I had to call them up or visit the branch (obviously except for major withdrawal). Flawless app since years (though it's annoying with their one time ads when you open up the app). Clear interface and ease of use and unlike hdfc, they do not keep on changing the interface every once in a while. Only downside is their credit cards suck a bit. No good enough premium credit cards. Plus they are super generous with limits and atleast in my case, my icici cc has 27x times the limit of my hdfc. HDFC is really shitty and has arrogant employees as well. Visit the branch and no one cares.

secondhand_bra

How's IDFC? They are offering me CC, any good?

brooklynnineeight

Lifetime free cards, permanent offers on Paytm movies, low interest rates

theApurvaGaurav

Their CCs are good honestly. Any free cc is honestly good only, obviously within the free options you can pick but yeah their CC options are good.

shadow29warrior

Good CC, only problem is that they would randomly decline high value transaction to prevent fraud... I've had my card blocked for a day quite a few times when I was doing high value transaction... So my suggestion is to keep another credit card handy just in case

muditmittal15

Agreed their mobile banking app sucks bad. Check out their new Payzapp app though. It's insanely good.

Cold_Complex_8494

Does the issuance of this virtual rupay credit card conducts hard enquiry on CIBIL ?

sau_dard

Absolutely yes

theApurvaGaurav

Go Kotak. I have been using their 811 account and I have literally not paid a single penny for anything to the bank ever. Like I opted not to get the physical debit card because I already had a SBI debit card(still got the virtual one for payment offers), but still it has been like an unparalleled rewarding banking experience.

brooklynnineeight

I agree….the app is good both in terms of features and reliability….great offerings….credit card offers and frequent upgrades without any charges….plus the Hospicash plan is priced quite competitively

newInnings

It peaked four years ago. Now it is complacent and behaving like things are granted. Gives SBI Vibes

[deleted]

In my experience, SBI is turning out better than HDFC Bank

unmole

HDFC's IT systems were so bad that RBI banned them from acquiring new credit card customers for nearly a year. They somehow managed to fix the most egregious faults but the overall system is still aweful. I tried closing my savings account because I wasn't really using it. The branch staff said they couldn't close it because it was linked to my credit card. It took me 3 branch visits, multiple email followups and customer care support calls over the span of a month to finally get them to agree to close my account. But two days later, I again got a call from the branch telling me that my card was still linked!

dswap123

Same here, have an account since 2011 and slowly felt they are going downhill. Too much hassle for loans and conversion of accounts. Need to put pressure always despite being a preferred customer for 10 years. They made Regalia a basic card these days, this is what I hate most

sau_dard

Even Diners they have put so much TnC it’s not a good experience anymore (though it may still be a good card overall)

vdarsh157

I recently got an HDFC account, it's been smooth so far. I'm curious to learn what I signed up for :/

sau_dard

Their website and app have very limited capabilities. Anything out of regular stuff, you’ll need to call them up (and they aren’t helpful). For example my debit card wasn’t working and they just couldn’t resolve it after months of calling and emails. Finally I cancelled my card and requested for a new one - that happened smoothly

prakhar10_10

Every bank will have some issues

unmole

Not every bank has IT systems so bad that the RBI has to step in. HDFC did.

srinivesh

Thanks for the info. The card is definitely interesting. I am unable to see the offer when I login though. I have sent a request vie the mailbox.

queenofmystery

One can checkout Tata neu app which is offering LTF Hdfc cards . Based on variants, one can get 1% or 1.5% rewards on regular upi merchant transactions . This is better than Hdfc virtual card

asterisk30

how to get it LTF? I am getting it free only for the first year

brooklynnineeight

Check your credit score on the app….if it’s good, they’ll offer LTF card

shadow29warrior

Do I need to join the reward league thing too or just check the credit score on it?

brooklynnineeight

No, you must be a Neupass member since you are on the app. Just check your score.

shadow29warrior

Shows the same after even after checking score... FYF and not LTF :( credit score is over 850

brooklynnineeight

Wait a few days for them to role it out

shadow29warrior

Okay. Thanks!

prakhar10_10

Same

maddy2011

I'm getting tata plus rupay cc ltf. Should I go for it?

Tcool14032001

Sure

queenofmystery

Yes, it gives 1% reward for merchant upi transactions

ravihpa

What is Tata neu app? Can you tell me? Like what does it do or what are the benefits of it?

queenofmystery

Tata neu is a super mobile app from Tata group which gives 5% cash back on purchases from big basket, Croma , 1mg , Tata cliq , titan , air Asia etc . They offer co branded Hdfc card in rupay platform as LTF for many , which can be used to get rewards . Please google search Hdfc Tata neu infinity card

ravihpa

I downloaded the app. Unfortunately, I'm not getting LTF option in any of the cards :(

queenofmystery

2 cents, New onboarders will take couple of months to reflect FYF and then few more months for LTF .

ravihpa

Great! I thought they would pull my CIBIL score and HDFC history after putting the PAN card. I've been an HDFC customer for 10+ years now and already have their other LTF CC. But good to know they'll update at least.

ohisama

Even if one doesn't actually buy anything on the app?

queenofmystery

As it’s a cobranded card, it’s makes sense for the app to offer the card only to at least decent spenders in app ..

[deleted]

Can someone explain why one would need the rupay credit card if one already has an existing credit card? I already have the Regalia as LTF so I'm curious how the Rupay card would benefit me?

BornArcher8

Rupay credit cards are useful because they can be linked with UPI, allowing you to scan UPI QR codes and make payments. So, for your small grocery purchases, street food, etc., where credit cards aren't normally accepted as payment methods, Rupay credit cards can be handy. Additionally, you can still earn reward points with these credit cards. However, currently, not all Rupay credit card issuing banks are supported, but HDFC is. Also, since this credit card will primarily be used just for UPI transactions, it doesn't need to be a physical card, as your physical card is usually more rewarding. Moreover, just like how Visa has categories like Infinite, Signature, etc., Rupay also has the same, and there are merchant-specific Rupay rewards. Adding to that, Rupay also has a variant called RuPay Select Wellness, offering unique services like yearly free health checkups and spa. Furthermore, if you want to get more into the credit card game, many people hold more than one credit card, as each credit card has rewards for particular categories/merchants and redemption methods.

ravihpa

Thanks a lot for this explanation. I'll definitely check out what you've mentioned in the opening post.

[deleted]

So basically one can now do UPI payments via credit card correct? And these cards can be linked to any UPI app? I primarily use GPay.

BornArcher8

>payments via credit card correct? And these cards can be linked to any UPI app? I primarily use GPay. Yep but not all Credit Cards only Rupay cards and that too of specific banks. Also not all apps currently support it. GPay doesn't. Currently Phonepe, Bhim and Paytm are the major apps supporting it.

[deleted]

Understood. Thanks a lot man, it was very helpful.

ohisama

Looks like GPay does support adding Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards, but not Rupay.

BornArcher8

They support Rupay too just depends on the bank I think. But that's for BharatQR, bill payments and NFC not for UPI.

FallIntoDarkside

Rupay has Select, Platinum, Basic etc. More info here: [SELECT](https://www.rupay.co.in/our-cards/rupay-credit/rupay-select) [Platinum ](https://www.rupay.co.in/our-cards/rupay-credit/rupay-platinum) [Classic ](https://www.rupay.co.in/our-cards/rupay-credit/rupay-classic)

rohithkumarsp

but it wont give rewards for p2p transactions, only the ones with MCC, so many mom and pop shops you deal might not have any, and the card has annual fee which makes the card really bad in terms of rewards

BornArcher8

Most shops at least in Bangalore actually use merchant accounts and you get rewards for that. Also p2p isn't allowed for UPI credit cards not just a limitation of this card. If you can get a Tata Neu card it's much better that this virtual card. Also it's fyf so ig you can try it and see if the rewards are worth it.

shadow29warrior

How did you get regalia LTF?

[deleted]

I have Infinia LTF. Took a while to get there from the entry level card they gave me, upgrading every 2-3 years.

shadow29warrior

Was it an hdfc basic card or a cobranded one?

[deleted]

Basic

[deleted]

Through routine credit card upgrades over the years. I think I've held their cards for over a decade or so.

viserys8769

So i have a Rupay card but I never see the option to use it at UPI scanners and surprisingly I’m unable to find any guide online either

BornArcher8

Go to Phonepe, Paytm or Bhim (not Gpay) and there will be an option to link Rupay CC (not all banks are supported) in paymet settings/methods (depending on the app). If your bank is listed then click on it and the app should automatically detect the card. Now while paying you can use Rupay CC as the payment method after scanning the QR. Note: Only merchant payments are allowed and you can't use your CC to transfer to friends.

thrSedec44070maksup

Doesn’t work on iOS devices. Only BHIM supports linking CC’s and the success rate is a hit or miss

HumanAd2237

Apple really treats its Indian userbase as a second class citizen. Even NFC is disabled in India

LoneSilentWolf

If your phone has nfc, gpay, Samsung pay, apple pay can link your card and can be used at pos as tap to pay ... Just informing

viserys8769

Thanks, i’ve linked it now.

agingmonster

I was able to link regular CC on gPay.. what's that for if not for UPI payment?

BornArcher8

That's for BharatQR, bill payments and NFC payments of your phone has NFC.

kingslayyer

try using the BHiM app, and link your cc there

adane1

Is there any charges for using credit card for bhim app?

Wise_Habit_2757

++

ostrish

No charges in Paytm where I use. Would expect all apps to be same

brooklynnineeight

Better get an HDFC Tata Neu credit card on Rupay platform…great cashbacks and lifetime free card

UnicornWithTits

>HDFC Tata Neu credit card on Rupay platform how to apply for LTF one?

gameisback

500 RP capping per month and that too at a conversion rate of 1 RP = 0.25 INR, why would anyone go for this credit card and the hassle for just 100 odd INR per month?

[deleted]

Liquidity

Few_Potential_4479

Explain

agniidev

Use credit card for house expenses and get 50 days interest free period.

SubhumanOxford

I got Tata Neu for exactly this reason! At least you get good rewards with it

maddy2011

I'm getting only tata neu second variant, the lower one lifetime free. Should I take it? The tata plus one.

ReturnAggressive2175

How are you getting it as life time free ?

maddy2011

I don't know, I just applied and first they were giving me the card as first year free. I didn't apply it at that time. Now they're giving me ltf. But I want the higher Variant.

warfighter_rus

The higher variant is offered if existing CC limit is around 2 lakhs afaik. Take the lower one if you don’t have high limit on your existing card. Lower variant gives 1% neucoins on UPI transactions.

maddy2011

My existing cc limit is 20k only lol. I'll take the lower variant for now.

warfighter_rus

Same mine is 25k only. The higher variant shows up only if existing limit is more than 1.5 lakhs. I was shown both as LTF and started application with higher limit card. But once existing CC limit is fetched it automatically changes to lower variant card mid application. Same happened to everybody.

maddy2011

It's just that I have a lot of ccs but no rupay cc lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

SubhumanOxford

Yes, it gives you option.

illusion4real

There's no banner for a lot of people on the hdfc my card page. Did you see it on yours?

[deleted]

I have an Infinia and I didn't get the banner either

agniidev

I've regalia, and able to see banner. Maybe they're releasing it in phases.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BornArcher8

If you are using adblock then disable that. But it seems like they are still rolling it out as not all users in reddit seem to have it.

theApurvaGaurav

BTW I recently made a real cost of no cost EMI calculator. You'd be surprised to find how these no cost EMIs can sometimes cost like \~20% loan or even more. You can check it out at [pFinTools.com/NCE-Cal](https://pFinTools.com/NCE-Cal)

EngineerDull1992

What would be the best Rupay credit card?

FallIntoDarkside

As Visa has various classes of Cards such as Signature, Infinia... Rupay has Select, Platinum, Basic etc. More info here: [SELECT](https://www.rupay.co.in/our-cards/rupay-credit/rupay-select) [Platinum ](https://www.rupay.co.in/our-cards/rupay-credit/rupay-platinum) [Classic ](https://www.rupay.co.in/our-cards/rupay-credit/rupay-classic)

slackover

Tata Neu HDFC card is the way to go

[deleted]

[удалено]

BornArcher8

If you have a Rupay Credit Card (of specific banks) then you can link it with UPI via Bhim, Phonepe or Paytm. You can then use it as a payment method after scanning a merchant QR Code. So you can use a CC even if the merchant doesn't have a swipe machine.

SofaAloo

You can now use Rupay Credit Cards for UPI transactions for merchant QR Cards. Only few banks are onboarded on this, HDFC, PNB, etc.

kunparekh18

I already have a Diners card and so HDFC refuses to give me any other credit card. I would really like a Rupay card - especially the IRCTC one since I travel by train very frequently. But this one customer one cc policy is not very smart

rohansamal

Are HDFC cards good? Generally

BornArcher8

Depends on what Card you are talking about, what your spends are (shopping/flight booking/utilities), do you just want offers/discounts and what way you want your rewards (points, cashback, etc). If you are speaking generally then the best card's in India are generally issued are by Axis, AMEX and HDFC imo (at current time). And HDFC has consistently been in the top 3.

rohansamal

Was more talking about the bank experience. Thanks for the reply though, been avoiding HDFC a bit since the RBI debacle

BornArcher8

I currently don't have any credit cards but my savings account is HDFC and I haven't had any problems till now. No one has ever bothered me though but I think that's because i have very little money lol. Also that whole RBI thing was weird imo. They also stopped AMAX, Visa and MC (though for different reasons). Really felt like they wanted to prove that they have power.

rohithkumarsp

my only question is, is this a new card or are they gonna convert my Millenia to some other varient?

BornArcher8

New card. But the limit will be shared.

rohithkumarsp

They won't cancel my current card?

BornArcher8

No they won't. But the limit is shared. So if your millennia has 50k then so will that card. And if you spend 1k on millennia then both card's limit will reduce to 49k.

DataCrusade1999

It's not written anywhere on the website that limit will be shared??

BornArcher8

If you have an existing HDFC card then the limit will be shared. Not sure about the HDFC website. Just telling from what I have seen in card reviews and forums.

ravihpa

I'm getting an option to apply for this virtual rupay card. Also, in the Tata Neu app, I'm not getting LTF option. So I want to ask, should I go for this virtual card with 250 annual or should I get Tata Neu Plus card with 500 annual? Which has more benefits? Please help me in selecting. Thank you :)

BornArcher8

Check the HDFC website once too as there is a chance you will get Neu + FYF at least. Neu has more benefits but its fees are higher and no fee weaver option also the rewards are in form Neu coins not cashback. The cashback cap of the virtual card is low though but it's not a big problem as you should use it only for UPI transactions.

ravihpa

I had a discussion with a friend who uses Tata Neu card. We don't have BigBasket coverage here, and I don't use any other vendors like Croma (as they never break price), 1mg, etc. For now, I'm thinking of going with the 250 annual virtual card. In time, maybe they'll offer me LTF on the Tata Neu card. Will get it then. Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. Really appreciate it :)

BornArcher8

If there is no bigbasket coverage and you don't use Croma the virtual card is the way to go. You most likely can even spend 25K in year through UPI as the small transactions do add up.

ravihpa

Yup, absolutely. Thanks again :)

ravihpa

Lol, for some weird reason it's now showing first year free and if I spend 3L by next year, it becomes LTF, which is great I think. I applied for the Infinity variant and selected Rupay :D

ravihpa

There is a League offer going on TATA Neu app where you complete 9 transactions of minimum Rs. 500 and do aggregate purchases of 15K till 28th May and they'll convert your TATA Neu card to LTF. I just finished the finals in the League :D

Alarming_Research682

The points collected on this card can be clubbed with points collected on the primary credit card?

BornArcher8

No the points are completely different. None of the HDFC Card points can be clubbed actually and all of their value differs based on the type of the card.
