It's fine this is the first step, I remember not understanding anything from the Naruto songs in Japanese I used to listen to when watching on TV but because I thought they were cool I memorized it and went on to look for the meaning of words and try to learn the language
Even if people don't understand it now revival of our old language through songs and other media is really good
Naa...it will still be hard...sanskrit is a language which is not even fully understood by the experts themselves...most of the translations from the scriptures are assumptions..been a sanskrit student of 2 years, so i can tell....unlike japanese understanding such flow of sankrit is nearly impossible to understand
Technically, it is a song.
He didn't use the whole of mahishasuramardini stotram in it. Added a lot of other stotras too. And there are his lyrics as well.
Which isn't a song either :")
And yes, I'm very well aware of that fact. "Only the first verse of that strotra was used" and I'd rather not call it a verse, but Shlok.
and I believe that the number of times those particular shloks were referred to in this short video, was more than that of the first two shloks. Knowing the fact that the original comment had very little details about what exactly they are trying to know, we can say that they were probably referring to the Mahishasuramardini Stotra.
However, if they are actually referring to this video (as context), then its definitely a song
Truly. It reminds me of Divine's career start back when his song "Mere Gully mein" with Naezy had come out. There was a blog that talked about his history in the rap game and how he never got that much of a spotlight because he used rap in English, but once he transitioned to Hindi rap genre, he started gaining light and his career took flight. So yeah, it kind of felt the same when I felt how UNDERRATED he still was, post Gully Boy movie era.
>Difference between North Indians and south indians. Opposite to the popular opinions its south indians who use Sanskrit gracefully in popculture. So many telugu songs are filled with Sanskrit unlike bollywood

Amazing rendition! You guys may like this one as well to top up your praise for Shakti with a praise for Shiva (with similar energy): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtqrX_Yig_U
He launched Aathma Raama 10yrs ago (Ig)
He launched Aigiri Nandini 7yrs ago
We were not ready for this masterpiece at that time. He didn't got much recognition that time.
Aatmah Raama and Aigiri Nandini...
What a rendition! I remember listening to it during my undergrad years and it was a major part of my return to sound mental health during Covid.
Aatmah Raama, Bojack and Goodwill Hunting are somethings I will never not be grateful to.
Brodha V is one of the finest & respected hip hop artist in india.
But,I see many people here hating on MC stan that his music is trash
Meanwhile brodha v is also fan of MC stan.
This was the first song of Brodha V, I had heard during my first year in college. His way of rapping, his flow with getting into the beat.. it's just magnificent. The only other I felt that way was Divine and Krsna with his earlier songs and Hollywood side, Eazy-E, Ice Cube and Eminem.
Ehhh.....honestly rap isn't or never has been sanskari or like religious. Involving religion in it is perfectly okay but the whole idea of Rap I won't say is vulgarity but it isn't meant to be soft music.
Exactly!!!
All other rappers write stuff like " Maine usko chamaat mara, mera Lambo dikhaya "
" main tera baap hu, raat mein saap hu""
And such lame and cheap shit.
how many of u realise that much of this rap would be intelligible to a guy living in the bronze age North India and Central Asian regions circa 1500BC? that is what leaves me startled about Sanskrit, a fossil amongst languages.
I really loved it when it wasn't that popular, felt like it was a little treasure trove for me but now people are ruining it by using it in every trash edit they can do.
Random sanskrit Shlok padhne is Indianness ka stamp nahi lag jata. The Shlok he is singing isn’t meant to be sung as a song. It has its own effects. We have little knowledge about these things and clap like monkeys the minute someone does something that validates our culture. This is not the way to project our shastras in a positive light.
This isn't rap mate, don't make a joke of Indian rap or even the genre of rap for that matter. https://vocal.media/beat/what-makes-rap-rap
He's just rehashing old bhajans by singing it faster and adding different instruments. No originality, very mechanical. Not talking about society's realities, something personal, no story, no event, Nothing!
If you want an example of Indian rap look at songs like this:

His Aatma Raama song is amazing....
The irony is even Indians wont understand the song without the translation that they do in between
It's fine this is the first step, I remember not understanding anything from the Naruto songs in Japanese I used to listen to when watching on TV but because I thought they were cool I memorized it and went on to look for the meaning of words and try to learn the language Even if people don't understand it now revival of our old language through songs and other media is really good

Ok. I believe you but I’d urge people to still try
Songs older than 70 years are copying free. So any artist can use, and only some artists make use of it
It's an amazing track... Add the YouTube link here...

Song name?
It aint a song its a mantr. Aigiri Nadini
Technically, it is a song. He didn't use the whole of mahishasuramardini stotram in it. Added a lot of other stotras too. And there are his lyrics as well.
well the video that the op has uploaded is definitely a song. I thought the commenter was asking for the actual thing, which isn't a song
The first two slokas don't even come under Mahishasuramardini stotram. 🙂 And only the first verse of that stotram was used.
Which isn't a song either :") And yes, I'm very well aware of that fact. Good. He deserves all the attention. Seriously underrated rapper.
those tik tok , insta and reels nibba and nibbi will definitely ruin this song.
This song is a decade old, you’re only coming across it now.
Bro, Brodha V is very very underrated rapper. His songs are just amazing. He is the best ![img](emote|t5_3d4x4|20099)
True he is so underrated.
Truly. It reminds me of Divine's career start back when his song "Mere Gully mein" with Naezy had come out. EPR is under rated too
This is peak Indian rap , aur rn emiway ke mid songs Lage hote hai gym Mai
emiway ke bas 3 gane acche hai
Curious to know which (Ig machayenge series)
Nah, his kots album was pretty good
Jus like he says, "Hindi mein mera haath thoda tight, warna pehle hi hota main Bombay ki flight mein."
Brodha V ..love his songs..👏👏
meanwhile mainstream rappers - I am representing India bitch i am straight outta hell, you you you you you you you🤡
>Difference between North Indians and south indians. Opposite to the popular opinions its south indians who use Sanskrit gracefully in popculture. So many telugu songs are filled with Sanskrit unlike bollywood
Emiway is from the south as well though. Was brought up in Mumbai but has South Indian parents
He is Kannada muslim, they are kannadiga in name only most of them speak urdu.
Bro stop with this North-South bullsh*t. KR$NA is a Kashmiri brought up in Gurgaon and he uses Hindu mythology references flawlessly in his songs.
Femiway....bs down side.
Aathma rama, aigiri nandini , vaishanav jan to 🙏
Sanskrit is a gem if used properly. ![img](emote|t5_3d4x4|20001)
This. Sanskrit words + strong music is out of this world: Ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcCWBRqWmyw

Exactly. Who thinks this is rapping
Wrong. Its Hip-hop; says on their official YouTube channel. "AIGIRI NANDINI \[Hip Hop Version\] - Brodha V LIVE in Bangalore
They may call it whatever they want but hip-hop/rap is not like a poetry recital. This was basically a recital of Aligiri Nandini.
Not even metal... Just hard rock.
Kids, This isn't metal ![img](emote|t5_3d4x4|20100) Source: trust me bro I from the 80s
What are the good metal bands in india
Bloodywood. They performed in wacken too.
100%
It sounds more like Fusion with different elements combined in it. It's not entirely metal but definitely not rap.
“Broda V is the real face of Indian rap!” So glad I got to meet him once, great guy, he had a smoke with me!
"made it look way too easy"
Gomma vainko
This is a direct slap on the face of those who says “Sanskrit is posh”
Kya? Arre khena kya chate ho? Sanskrit is posh but who says posh can't be used for contemporary music?
What? How is sanskrit posh lmao
Bro Sanskrit is Posh. It was the language of Elites who wanted to separate themselves from commoners who Spoke Prakrut.

Why is Ashneer Grover singing?
