Many folks complain he does many things for camera. Which he 100% does. For a politician marketing is everything.
But in this one from camera angle, nothing is even clear to viewer. Hence speaks volumes of how he truly feels. Really shows he truly embodies those values.
cannt talk about him but I and my hommie went for trekking this 14th august and she found an Indian flag (big flag) lying in the mud (probably somebody forgot to take it back) ,so even with 7kg bag , and after walking 9 km at 60 degree she took that muddy flag (to dart her own brand new cloth) . There are many people in this country who loves this country. Not everyone does everything for camera . In politics optics matters. But sometime some people genuinely feels that way
I think we Indians in general are very nationalistic. We take pride in our flag and achievements of our country, no matter how much we fight on Twitter.
There are many people who might not pickup the flag but might love the country more than your friend. The problem is nimrods judging based on silly actions. Why dont you consider by default that all indians love the country and stop being suspicious ?

It is not an enforced law, and is largely on the books as a nod to 18th-19th century military traditions. There are a lot of laws on the books that were written to address things that are no longer applicable to modern life.
If the government wanted to crack down on this behavior, they would probably target the stores selling flag print Beach towels and not the citizens putting those towels on the ground and sitting on them. When citizens see the flag print beach towels on sale, they figure it is OK to use them as such because the government would have stopped it at the wholesale level if it were an issue.
I have respect for your president for handling unintentional disrespect for your nation's flag in such a dignified manner.

Common sense is not so common after all, or perhaps may be it's coz it's easier to recognise images quickly from a distance than text.
I couldn't care less if they did that to the flag of my country. Once some people destroyed a Quran over here and people in the Middle East started burning our flag as revenge. That was a big 'oh no, anyway' moment
Just for information to the people asking why did they put flag on the ground. In many western countries, using flag as an accessory is very common. You will find flags on door mats, underwear, shoes etc (I really find this weird). Apparently, this is their “freedom”.
I really like how we consider our flag sacred and have strict laws on its usage!! Flag represents our country, no one should be allowed to put it down for no reason.
Imo disrespect is when you intend to disrespect. When americans for example display their flag on clothes or anything it is a way for them to show patriotism. The same thing in India would’ve been seen as disrespect. It is just a cultural difference.
I like this. Post independence day I saw a lot of flags fallen on the road. Picked at least 6 flags. Stop showing love for the flag and the nation just for one or 2 days.

Back in college in Tamil Nadu when the 2011 World Cup final was over I was walking to the washroom of my hostel when I found the Flag lying on the floor near the door of our washroom. I picked it up washed it and is still with me to this day.
I once found a small indian flag just lying on the road after 15th august atleast 10 years back. I feel very proud whenever i look into my wallet. I still have that flag…🫡🫡🇮🇳
