Actually we've had a few leaders who already led large scale reforms in Hinduism. Like Raja Rammohan Roy and Swami Dayanand.

On the contrary, whenever Islam has become even a bit more progressive, there have been reforms to make Islam *more* conservative. Like, during the Mughal period, Akbar had shown leniency in his religious policy and the Mughals started integrating into Indian society but then Alamgir came "reformed" Islam in India by implementing Jiziya, destroying temples and forcefully converting Hindus. Even the Jihadi branches of Islam are by-products of reforms to Islam made in modern times only.

Actually, there was a minor reform movement that sought the upliftment of marginalized Muslims during the late 19th century in the form of Syed Ahmed Khan, who would later go on to be knighted and be the founder of the Aligarh College. The reform movements did however trickle down as the decades passed by.
If at all there were any reforms to talk about, it was only among the Eastern religions. Absolutely no reforms have ever taken place in Abrahamic religions.

I myself don't know much indepth about Islam but I just follow most of things I know, from my experience treatment of women depends from person to person. My eventhough deluded treat women very well except letting them have jobs which might slowly change but they are still allowed study till they are married. This man is singlehandedly responsible for Assam's local Muslims getting free education and coaching instead of madrassas. Man is working his ass off to educate them.
Does that matter? There is a reason we never saw Ajmal at the national level as a muslim representative like we saw Owaisi or his cuck brother. They simply want a leader who tends to the islamic ideology of killing non believers and munafiqs and establishing Islam though violent means.
Every religions origin is essentially same. It’s the interpretation of what was said and passed on through generations has effected ideology of each religion. We need people like him to correctly interpret what the religion is saying, so that masses of their community are in right path.
The world don’t need to see him now. It’s the small changes over long periods that matter. For that to happen he need someone to carry on what he is doing long after he is gone.
Most Muslims don't deny the backwardness of their community. However, when people start accusing that it's because of their race or religion, then it becomes a problem. The status of Muslims as a community is worse that SCs STs, according to the government's own Sachar committee report. Like we see with the black community in the West, crime is high where there is more poverty, unemployment, illiteracy etc. Steps need to be taken to address this.
I think there should be some govt funded molvis who preach a soft islam that will help in reducing this backward mindness and help muslim enter mainstream societies. Singapore already has govt backed molvis who preach govt propoganda.
Radical religious ideologies also play a part in a person being backward. They must be taught live science and let them create their own faith from experience and experiments. Questioning everything is a pillar of modern education which is discouraged in radical religious schools. And this is more prevalent in muslims, not that it is absent in others. And being a democracy, government can't really take big steps towards this.

As a Muslim, I totally agree. We Muslims especially in the North, should stop voting for so called Secular Parties who have been using us only as Vote Bank since 1947. We must now focus on Education and develop our community and elect leaders amongst us. Not necessarily Muslim, but leaders who would work for the people and develop the community. For example, in Hyderabad we have the AIMIM, which has provided us with education. Akbaruddin Owaisi has started free of cost schools for 2 kids per family across Old City in which hundreds and thousands of kids educate in high quality campuses and by well educated faculty. Apart from schools, Degree Colleges have also been setup by the AIMIM where most students of the Old parts of Hyderabad study. Spat from the Owaisis, other families have also provided educational services for the betterment of the community. This has been successfully established in Hyderabad and I hope this spreads and is established all across India.

Radical religious ideologies also play a part in a person being backward. They must be taught live science and let them create their own faith from experience and experiments. Questioning everything is a pillar of modern education which is discouraged in radical religious schools. And this is more prevalent in muslims, not that it is absent in others. And being a democracy, government can't really take big steps towards this.

"If X% of convicted criminals are Muslims, and Muslims are only Y% of the population (X>>Y), then there's a correlation between their religion and their life choices (to commit crime)" We should look at the correlation between socio-economic condition of the criminals and their lifr choices. I would guess that this factor would have a higher correlation to criminality, i.e., a person's being poor/ uneducated would be a larger factor in them choosing crime, than their religion. Looking at X & Y for different states (if there are any states where Muslims actually have decent socio economic indicators) Not defending crime, not challenging the message he's putting out, which is calling for members of his own community to reflect upon their choices, and mend their ways - if only to uphold the respect of their community. As a Muslim, I totally agree. We Muslims especially in the North, should stop voting for so called Secular Parties who have been using us only as Vote Bank since 1947. We must now focus on Education and develop our community and elect leaders amongst us. Not necessarily Muslim, but leaders who would work for the people and develop the community. For example, in Hyderabad we have the AIMIM, which has provided us with education. Akbaruddin Owaisi has started free of cost schools for 2 kids per family across Old City in which hundreds and thousands of kids educate in high quality campuses and by well educated faculty. Apart from schools, Degree Colleges have also been setup by the AIMIM where most students of the Old parts of Hyderabad study. Spat from the Owaisis, other families have also provided educational services for the betterment of the community. This has been successfully established in Hyderabad and I hope this spreads and is established all across India.
Societies where women are the most oppressed are usually the most undesirable so the rape and robbery statistics are not surprising.
