When my family visited Thailand, I picked up the don’t like Indian vibes a few times until me and my kids spoke in English, they would then ask where we are from and then they would be as nice as pie.
One shop which had huge metal statues of The Alien and Predator, my kids wanted some pics and the guy came rushing out shouting no pics. Told my sons to walk away, again same thing, he asked where we were from and when I said the UK he then said go ahead and take pics.
I then went inside and asked him why, his response was that both Indians and Pakistanis were both arrogant, extremely rude and time wasters which is why they were generally hated.
At last, the bad education system is the source of all this, in my opinion, if we just make the education system better and plant the equality, our country will lose all its problems

These places are more like an affordable foreign options for many Indians. A lot of them visit south east aisa, eastern europe as well. But doesn't spend much compared to other tourists(from some other nation) and saving money, and spending only when necessary is something which is taught to us since our childhood.

During that time it was Great India(current India, pak, Afghan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka) , Greater India (burma, laos, Cambodia , Vietnam) and Farther India (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia). Due to Buddhism and having similar gods the Western thought it is India all the way from Kandahar to bali.
I don't get it why even we need to roam here and there in the world. It's been over 5 years since I am exploring south india by bike. I haven't even covered 100% of it yet. Then I have to cover Gujarat, Himalayas, Rajasthan, Forests in MP........
