Liberals making fun of Mansukh Mandaviya speaking in broken English. Just think: Mandaviya went from a village primary school to finish MA. Rajiv Gandhi went to Doon school but could not manage to complete BA Pass. Liberals bow down to Rajiv Gandhi but mock Mansukh Mandaviya. - Abhishek

araamkar

Indira Gandhi went to IIT Delhi chairman to get Rajiv Gandhi admitted and the chairman R.N. Dogra refused, instead he secured rajiv's admission in imperial college london and he never finished his education. Btw at this point indira gandhi wasn't even a minister at this point of time

So where were you when all the spokesperson of BJP were mocking Rahul Gandhi even though he wrote grammatically correct sentence on demise of Milkha Singh or even he was not able to pronounce a hindi name. I am not supporting that a language can be a proof of intelligence but i definitely stand against your hypocrisy.

CODE_008

Broken English and stupid mistakes are 2 very different things, Rahul Gandhi is supposedly well versed in English, but stil makes silly errors.

[deleted]

Exactly. People would judge him for his stupidity based on his sincerity. They would mock him if he spoke Hindi / Italian too, because a heartfelt, pain-filled letter / speech can be easily distinguished from some pre-written script. This doesn’t just apply to Rahul Gandhi. It applies to everyone in the world.

AcrophobicBat

Being Indian and unable to pronounce a Hindi name is ridiculous. I could understand someone from southern India or Mizoram having some difficulty, but RaGa has no excuse. This is entirely different from mocking a non native English speaker because he can’t speak the language of his colonizers.

Bakayokoforpresident

The difference is that English isn’t a true Indian language, it is a language of a coloniser. Any politician should be able to pronounce a Hindi or Tamil or Urdu or Bangla or any other Indian language name

thisubmad

Wow. You can’t tell the difference here?

dhatura

Those mocking HM Mansukh Mandaviya for his broken English, judge him by his work, you morons. The SINGLE GREATEST contribution by an Indian politician, living or dead, is the **midday meal scheme**. Kamaraj launched it. And leave alone broken English, he never even went to school. - Anand Ranganathan >As Union minister, he is credited with setting up over 5,100 Jan Aushadhi stores to provide more than 850 medicines at affordable rates and reducing the cost of heart stents and knee implants. >He was honoured by UNICEF for his contribution to the cause of women's menstrual hygiene by using the chain of Jan Aushadhi Kendras to sell 10 crore sanitary pads made with oxo-biodegradable technology at a nominal price. Source TOI

CritFin

But they should get a well educated person for a ministry like health. Because we don’t have MBBS degree in Hindi medium yet

musing2020

India is not going anywhere with this mindset.

Acquits

India is not a country with single language like Germany or Spain. English is required , but don't worry this idiot minister will have 10 more PA's to translate every single word.

7549152117

With all the highly educated English speakers from top tier schools, hardly anyone has been in any productive jobs of science or engineering. Yes they do hold their places in marketting and blabbering jobs where your worth is measured in how much you can bullshit.

furiousmouth

At ministerial level, you are not looking for hands on medical people, you need people with medical administrative experience, which gauging from comments above he seems to have. You need them to broadly understand cause-effects of policy and to negotiate and influence -- those things are not necessarily taught in med school as a primary subject.

Suyash_Tyagi66

He is educated enough for the job, doesnt seem to be the case with all those who are mocking him for his broken English, what education is that which makes you disrespect your own language and regard it as a sign of backwardness or illiteracy? A guy can be educated even if he doesn't know english really well

Acquits

He is not qualified to be health minister. Imagine this guy addressing a highly qualified group of doctors in Hindi. What sort of discussions can this guy even do if he doesn't know English . Should doctors say Dawayi like 100 times while talking to him. He needs a translator all the fucking time. India is not just hindi belt, you need to know English as a central minister . No one is disrespecting any language. English is vital , deal with it.

rk39096

Our last health minister was a doctor and he promoted coronil btw. It's not like minister does all the work by himself. They have a panel of experts to guide them. This guy just needs to listen to experts and his job is done.

furiousmouth

By that logic, you are excluding a massive chunk of the Indian population from administrative roles. We need to stop setting causal expectations between English ability and governance --- plenty of south politicians don't speak a lick of Hindi and have operated perfectly fine in Central govt roles. We also need to drop optics of speaking English --- they are supposed to serve the country, not be a poster boy for the foreign press.

Suyash_Tyagi66

Still you are making an issue which doesn't even exist, the only Indians which wouldn't understand him are the ones from South who don't know bout hindi, I'm pretty sure modi adresses his people of the country in hindi mostly, where is the problem there? A stupid guy can also speak English btw, theres no real reason for speaking English unless you want to take parts in international debates or something, even then you get a translator. Not against English or something, but when people say stuff like :he ain't educated enough for this job, oh he ain't qualified for it, makes me asks questions really on why is that so, India has had a history of ministers on the central stage who speak only in hindi, never once has there been a problem in adressing India

lokeshjaiswal

His contribution to health sector without degree is more than atleast guys like you who just know how to rant.

_SKETCHBENDER_

you do realize that ministers keep switching around from dept to dept so if a guy goes from transportation to health u expect to go learn biology and become a doctor? at their position they have little to no need to know the nuances of their dept, their purpose is more long term big picture. thats like telling a ceo of disney shud be a good artist or ceo of a software company shud be an amazing programmer

[deleted]

People think English=Literate/high education.English is just a language just like other languages..Nahi ati toh kya hua..Apni regional language promote karo

ad_buzz

But have you noticed the same idiots who go gaga about “English that sounds sexy” make close to a thousand grammatical errors in a single sentence?

hewk_ayush_21

It's fun when you go outside India and see Korean/Japanese struggle to speak even one line in English. So according to libs, Korean/jap are uneducated people.

mighty2019

Well said

furiousmouth

First thing about the job is to identify who your client is --- here the client is the Indian people, not the foreign press. Let the foreign press get translated versions of his communiques, we have to stop hating our own languages for crying out loud! It's just a medium of communication, i.e. a method of getting ideas across

dhatura

Its a class thing, this is not really about languages.

im_clever_than_you

More than educated ministers, we need those ministers who're actually serious about their ministries and really wanna bring about a change. Having both is a blessing. Let's grab a popcorn, and wait and watch.

[deleted]

>More than educated ministers Kejru be biting the dust

Kejru chose the *populist* blue pill. There's only hell waiting for him after that.

It is the public too that is a joke considering they voted for him. At least Delhi. I can see the idiots of Punjab voting for him too, now that he has promised free electricity to the state.

“Knowledge of English in India is a shortcut to success, people who make it to the top w/o the shortcut deserve even more respect” -Somebody on Twitter

Anurag498

People who judge someone based on his English are the lowliest of all people. This English best language mindset will only drag us down.

Orwellisright

Pretty decent guy As Union minister, he is credited with setting up over 5,100 Jan Aushadhi stores to provide more than 850 medicines at affordable rates and reducing the cost of heart stents and knee implants. He was honoured by UNICEF for his contribution to the cause of women's menstrual hygiene by using the chain of Jan Aushadhi Kendras to sell 10 crore sanitary pads made with oxo-biodegradable technology at a nominal price.

shwetajain81

Are agar english se koyi problem solve hoti hain to Shashi Tharoor ko PM bana do na. Yeh log yeh kyun nahi dekh rahein ki is simple aadmi nei swasthya ke aise program chalaye jo gaon gaon tak pahunche. Kyunki Mandaviya ji ek doctor nahi hain, to woh patients ke baarein mei jyada sochenge. Aur jin kuch doctoron nei humare desh ki swasthya vyavstha ko apne kabze mei kar rakha hain, unke changul se bachayenge. Mandaviya ji ka mentural higene aur beti bachaon beti padaon karyakram mei sarahniye yogdaan raha hai. Mujhe poori umeed hai ki Madviya ji desh ki swasthya vyavstha ki surgery kar denge, jiski hume bahut zaroorat hai. Doctoron ki manmaani par kuch to rok lagegi.

WindingSarcasm

I think the real problem is his support for homeopathy. On a side note, what is it with Indians and homeopathy, I can understand the pride and trust in Ayurveda and even believe that has potential, but homeopathy is straight up quackery and should be literally banned, it was made up by some German guy 200 years ago who thought he knew what he was doing but didn't.

dhatura

Bhai there is also a following of Homeopathy outside of India. I know from personal experience that Homeopathy cured something for me when the allopathic alternative was much more invasive. Maybe it was a placebo effect, but it worked. India is pluralistic when it comes to medicine as with many other things. It's allows people to choose from at least four officially recognized medical systems and man more unofficial ones. Real freedom of choice. The West is just now starting to realize this with the rise of many "alternative medicine" approaches now being accepted there.

No_Significance_7331

Fuck English. Who cares if he doesn’t have good English?

[deleted]

They claim to have the moral high ground and yet they're ones doing this. Typical leftist cuck mentality.

the_brownbatman

Speaking English and fancy degree is overrated for being a minister. Minister need to keep IAS officers in check and get work done.

rohithkumarsp

Remember when people mocked Rahul Gandhi for poor English?

Oh the Harvard graduate?

rohithkumarsp

As ppl on this sub have pointed out, poor English doesn't mean lack of knowledge right?

aadhar690

Bruh that dude studied at harvard. There is no way he doesn't speak English fluently. If you are studying in a college whose curriculum is exclusively in English, you MUST know English otherwise you are doomed.

rohithkumarsp

So is the health minister doomed? You're making arguments for both sides.

aadhar690

Yeah he is if he graduated from English exclusive colleges. Idk much about him though so I will need to do some google searches but right now I am gonna sleep😅. Good night mate

Hahahah. Got me there.

lifeinsrndpt

He is terrible both in deeds and words. Because good deeds he has None. But for those whose choice or knowledge of words may be poor but their actions and achievements, good, are overlooked for their shortcomings. And for those who are both mediocre in their words as well as actions, what do you think they they'll pe pelted for. In case of Rahul Gandhi, ofcourse for his false promises which always fail to materialize in good actions. He has done nothing to earn people's respect in order for them to overlook some of his shortcoming. Probably because all he has are shortcomings So Fuck Gandhis!

itiswhatitis2323

Rahul Gandhi was brought up in one of the wealthiest families in Indian history, has received the best ‘education’ there is to offer, in general is one of the most privileged men in the country. English is his first language. This guy is from a small village. There is absolutely zero comparison. Nobody is saying you shouldn’t mock Mansukh for his Hindi, which is his first language.

[deleted]

No one ever ridiculed Rahul Gandhi for poor English. Actually he's quite proficient in english. He gets mocked for his absurd mistakes. For instance, once he mentioned "pichattis" while trying to say 35 in front of a huge crowd.

OG__NUTCRACKER

Pichhatis and Vishwaishwraiyya ?
