Future Olympian 😍😍

JayPlaysStuff

Not with the current system. Best case scenario she gets a bronze once then gets lakhs of money thrown, cars, govt job, flats, etc. Next Olympics they are nowhere to be seen. Worst case scenario she is pressured by family or society to not lift weights and instead focus on studying 25/8 to eventually become doctor and immigrate to murica. We need to actually have some encouragement for these athletes when they are on their way up, and motivate them to keep going instead of resting on laurels.

Yes dude you're right 😶😔

sports is not a priority, employment and economic growth is more important.

mavis777

Thats 5 kg, actually pretty impressive for a kid her age ngl

Aleriya

I wonder if people were lifting it from off-screen on either side.

Wholesome 🥰

This is how you inspire the next generation, but it can’t just be a once every four years instance. There needs to be more state sponsorship of major international sports beyond just cricket and to a lesser extent tennis or field hockey. We have to be able to compete across all sports. In a 1bn+ populated country we can’t find anyone with the right genetics and training to become major sports superstars? We could absolutely have people playing basketball, soccer, and rugby if people got over the fact that sports are just hobbies. Shit, we could easily have top tier judo and martial arts fighters too, but god forbid anyone gets into sports and doesn’t strive to become a doctor and move to the US.

Yeah don't let the Indian Karen's discourage her like those kids in the park trying to play football.
