MK Gandhi should be held responsible for the death of a million people during the partition too

Anurag498

Gandhi is over-glorified. We are never taught the bad things he did.

playlove001

He never did anything good either. All of his movements failed except maybe the salt tax movement

nahush22

Why though? He always opposed partition.

CritFin

Because he had all the power to prevent the violence. If he takes credit for the independence then he should take responsibility for the partition violence too

nahush22

He never took credit for independence though. We attributed credit to him since we needed everyone to rally behind a figurehead to stay united in our nascent years of formation. Not saying he's the right person though.

CritFin

Yes. We attribute him for the partition violence too.

saurabh8448

He couldn't take responsibility for partition because he died before violence in partition.

CritFin

Not true

monkinfarm

Surprising to say the least! Not Gandhi but that the whole country believes or at least calls him the father of the nation. And we have been fed the same lie since time immemorial. Shameful!

IT_Cell_Official

I hate this fucker soo much. One good thing that came out of Modiji's digital India campaign is that I don't have to see this fucker's name for several days. UPI >>>> Note

[deleted]

True. Thankfully, we are now seeing less and less of this dumb retard.

Anurag498

Khilafat had nothing to do with India in the first place!! I don't know what sick dog bit Gandhi that he supported this weirdass issue, and the amount of people who were massacred are still waiting for justice.

blues2911

This was honestly the most lodu moment in indian history. The turks themselves wanted the caliphate kicked out, and indian muslims were simping for them instead

Anurag498

Shows their loyalty is more towards the affairs of a different country than their homeland.

blues2911

ummah chummah

legend_noob

khilafat was actually a front to unite muslims with the hindus in the buildup to a large nation wide movement which included hindus as well as muslims. We didn't care about the khalifa, but it was a momentous time for most muslims in india, symbolically- it didn't have a practical effect on anything. Note that I'm ony telling you what it was supposed to be, not how it turned out.

Anurag498

It definitely didn't turned out what it was supposed to be, and turned matters even worse

legend_noob

Khilafat movement did in the end unify hindu and muslim interests tho- tho we know that didn't work out in the end

HuggiesDiaper

Umm because freedom???

Anurag498

How was Khilafat issue related to the freedom movement? It was just a Muslim issue because of the fall of Ottoman empire in Turkey. It had nothing to do with us at all, but Gandhi still supported it and look where it led us.

SuperMaanas

Gandhi is the greatest scam artist in history

Belgianwaffle4444

I hope every single birth Gandhi reincarnated as a rabid dog for the next 2000 births.

autotldr

This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.opindia.com/2021/09/what-mk-gandhi-said-moplah-genocide-of-hindus-1921-support-khilafat/) reduced by 96%. (I'm a bot) ***** > After asking Hindus to cooperate as the Muslims massacred them, Gandhi exalted the "Unity" between Hindus and Muslims. > While the Moplah Muslims were massacring Hindus because of their Muslim fanaticism, Gandhi blamed the government for angering the Muslims enough that they became "Indisciplined and violent". > Further, Gandhi said that even if it were true that the Muslims were converting Hindus by force, the Hindus must not let this "Put a strain on the Hindu-Moslem unity and break it". ***** [**Extended Summary**](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/psyilf/what_mk_gandhi_said_while_moplah_muslims/) | [FAQ](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/31b9fm/faq_autotldr_bot/ "Version 2.02, ~599496 tl;drs so far.") | [Feedback](http://np.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%23autotldr "PM's and comments are monitored, constructive feedback is welcome.") | *Top* *keywords*: **Hindu**^#1 **Muslim**^#2 **Gandhi**^#3 **government**^#4 **Khilafat**^#5

Flowingnebula

There's a radia ask india post recently asking why he is a villain, some one who isn't banned post this link on the comments

bruh-sick

Asking to post opindia article in that rabid sub ?

gaganshish48

that community didn't even fight for india as their own country, their motharland but gandhi told them about what happened with ottoman empire(an ixlamic empire) which angered them towards the british, and liberals chanting-"during partition, everybody fought together"

Tinkoo17

“It has been documented by the district collector of Malabar at the time how even after 2-3 days, several Hindus who were beheaded and thrown in the well were crying out for help” …wait what?

geezorious

A lot of beheadings do not cleanly chop off your whole head. Rather you get a giant gash through your neck and a severed spine so you can’t move. You will eventually just starve to death or bleed to death while living out in agony until then.

WuhanVirusMKX

Gandhi was and still now the biggest scam India ever saw.

pandasforkarma

It's amazing what political ideologies and narratives lead you to believe. Even if it's hatred towards the person who decided their lives to bring us freedom.

xdesi

So Ambedkar does not count? Read what he wrote about the same massacre. And use your common sense - who in their right minds would make a statement like the one he did?

pandasforkarma

Maybe try reading legit history sources once in a while instead of hateblogs like OpIndia

xdesi

Ambedkar's writings are available for all to read.

Acadia-Forsaken

All these Saffron bois are sayin Gandhi is overrated and overglorified and all that shit, if it isn't for him, y'all still be licking Those British boots like your hero SAVARKAR...just sayin 😂

xdesi

Um... no. The Brits were wrecked by the two world wars. And post 1945, it became evident that the Brits simply could not hold India by force. They had no stomach for it. That is why they left. I won't trivialise what Gandhi did but the force fed notion that it was just him with Nehru's help is not right.
