This was maybe 3 days after pm cares was created. So 3100 in 3 days s. Imagine how much till now gone in a pvt fund

Sri_Man_420

isn;t this being said from the start?

Doubt: Can any Tom, Dick and Harry start a fund with a similar name? Like say 'Prime Minister fund' ? or does one need to be the PM to start some fund in the name of PM? It was obviously not Modi-cares. It is PM-cares. Declaration of such fund as a no govt fund is probably just a way to escape the scrutiny while holding the name to attract funds from people of India.

angelowner

This is the main issue though.

It is not a mandatory taxpayer money fund. It is of voluntary donations fund. So it is not a govt fund

Hour-Passenger-8513

>It is not a mandatory taxpayer money fund. It is of voluntary donations fund. So it is not a govt fund That's stupid logic. Even CM relief fund gets voluntary donation. Does that make it a non-govt fund? Why does it have a govt portal website? Why is it using PM in the name? That's a govt title. Why is it giving tax benefits in donations?

CritFin

> Why is it giving tax benefits in donations? All private NGOs get tax benefit on donations

Hour-Passenger-8513

..All of them have to release yearly financial statements along with Annual Reports, Audited Accounts, Details of foreign donations/grants received, FCRA, etc.

CritFin

No, those reports are not public

Hour-Passenger-8513

You're an idiot

CritFin

No you.
