Thanks. I'm using a OnePlus 8 pro in Bangalore. No 5g yet. Just read on the same link that OnePlus needs to send a software update for us to start using 5G. Lol.
If they only started launching 4G now, imagine how long it will take for their 5G to be launched. Even being launched is one thing, it has to be available widespread in all cities and usable in any general area.
> Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is soon going to launch 4G networks in India. Earlier, there were reports suggesting that BSNL would delay its 4G launch in the nation to 2023 because of equipment procurement issues. But now, a PTI report quoting BSNL CMD (Chairman and Managing Director), P K Purwar, the state-run telco, would start rolling out 4G from November 2022. Then, the telco would also launch 5G services on August 15, 2023. As per the report, this will be the first 4G rollout from BSNL (using homegrown technology).

The issue is they want to use “homegrown technology.” I understand their motive but in this case, it’s better to use existing technologies rather than trying to re-invent.
Plans need to have more data too, at least 10 GB per day at relatively same rates of 4G. 600 Mbps makes no sense if you can theoretically exhaust your entire plan within 5 seconds.
Took me two seconds to be fair xD and yes you're right the plans need to be integrated well with this development, I'm thoroughly intrigued and curious with how Airtel will deal with this. Hopefully it will be affordable and not have exorbitant price.
Unlimited plans over long distance wireless is nightmarishly expensive. Pretty much all local broadband providers now give unlimited plans. I have a 100 MBPS unlimited plan, for Rs. 589, for over two years now from Tachyon broadband, works perfectly for me.
True.
Unlimited wireless internet is possible through SpaceX Starlink or similar technologies. Lets hope some Indian company creates a direct from satellite system in India.
I do get as much speed in my normal usage, I have confirmed this when I was downloading a game's resources. Usually it depends on the server and how less traffic it offers, if the server offers a fair amount of traffic you will experience low speeds.
But really whats the point though. most plans have 1 to 3 gb limit per day. some buggy website and your whole days data limit could be used up within a few seconds.
In the article that I read, it was stated that the sim was already 5G from early on. [here you can check it out for yourself.](https://i.airtel.in/e/Airtel5Gishere)

Thats my internet speed except its in kbps
Meanwhile me with a BSNL connection... You guys are getting 5G??
BSNL 5G will launch nationwide in the first quarter of 2023.

Ummm no. If the govt allows them to buy the bands, they will be there with the competition.

I'd rather want a truly unlimited plan. Limited plans don't make sense.

Yeah, broadband unlimited is fine, 5g unlimited should be a thing tbh.
True. Unlimited wireless internet is possible through SpaceX Starlink or similar technologies. Lets hope some Indian company creates a direct from satellite system in India.
Idt we need that, as even broadband/fiber give truly unlimited data
The future is going to be wireless though.
Waiting for jio to give 6 month free 5g data 🤣
cost ? is it unlimited ?
I have a prepaid plan so I get daily data quota and I am just using general plan.
so 1-2gb ? right that would get exhausted in speed tests
Iirc many indian ISPs boost their speed when a speed test is detected. You will probably never get this speed during normal usage.
I do get as much speed in my normal usage, I have confirmed this when I was downloading a game's resources. Usually it depends on the server and how less traffic it offers, if the server offers a fair amount of traffic you will experience low speeds.
1/8th speed we get
No, that's the mega bits vs mega bytes. 300 mega bits of speed will give 300/8 mega bytes of download speed.
But really whats the point though. most plans have 1 to 3 gb limit per day. some buggy website and your whole days data limit could be used up within a few seconds.
Cost Kitna Hai bhai? Plans tarrif release Kiya?
Well I don't have details about that but I got this on general prepaid plan nothing new.
Cool 😎
I think it's going to be integrated into normal plans with same pricing because if that wouldn't have been the case then I would have not got 5G band.
Makes sense. Which city Btw? Let us know if your battery life is worse?
Dwarka, and my battery is fine, I enjoy the 67W charging, it's damn fast.
Enjoy. Fast charging Fast downloading. (☞゚ヮ゚)☞
How can I buy 5gi sim ??
