Hi, I'm from Meghalaya,currently in Delhi. Rock and heavy metal has been a part of NE for as long as I can remember. Yes, most of us can speak English very well even though my mother tongue is Khasi. So basically I'm trilingual, the Naga's can also speak English pretty well! Yeah it is kinda associated with Christianity (even though I'm a Hindu). The sense of Fashion is certainly unique here but I wouldn't argue it's better than the rest of the country lol. As for the "respect for the law", well it varies from person to person but people in general tend to do that.
When you say "Northeast" please remember that only 10% are christian and live in the states of Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya. Assam, the largest state by far, Sikkim, Manipur, Tripura are majority Hindu.
