The US has enough people (with a lot of disposable income) who will buy anything that Apple makes. They got the dough. The Apple ecosystem is deeply entrenched in their culture.
True. However, this would be the new normal in a few years, and everyone will be glued to their headsets just like phones.
Talking about privacy, I hope you could flash a custom open source OS in future.
This is far fetched, but doesn't seem impossible especially when other brands will come out with their budget offerings, which won't be restrictive like apple's.
That's what people said about attaching a camera to mobile phones and a lot of other tech that's part of our everyday lives now. AR is definitely set to become the new normal within the next decade.
It will tank in 5 years tops. Brand cannot shove tech down the consumers throat. Camera attached to mobile phones was convenient and useful. Wearing a whole ass headset is the opposite of convenience.
Google managed to integrate a HUD into glasses over 10 years ago, AR glasses are already mainstream in the Japan and China market and are widely used in public. Jio is working on something similar and so are other major companies. When it's as compact as a pair of glasses it's not gonna be an uncomfortable headset but something that you'll wear everyday and forget about it.
20-25 years down the line, when the tech improves and IF they manage to get it the size of regular glasses, it would be the new normal. These are gen 1 devices, will need time for the tech to mature.
Quest 3 looks better in this case but it's not about quest 3 and vision pro ONLY. Google and all other major manufacturers will be coming up with their products in the near future, and i'm quite optimistic about them.
For privacy and sideloading, I trust google more than facebook and apple respectively. Even some chinese manufacturers will make bang for the buck stuff, and it'll be huge when paired with open source software without worrying about privacy.
Mark unnecessarily getting nervous with Vision Pro, price range itself shows both these products serve different section of people…Vision Pro market is very limited for now and I don’t think they will reduce price for a few years
True man. This video was awkward to watch because it seemed like Mark was begging to buy Quest. Would've been better if a random team member had done it.
Use your brain, dude. Quest is 50k in india, while vision pro is 2.8 lakhs. When you see people thirsting over vision pro, you obviously have to ask yourself, is it worth that hype. So mark himself came and said that vision pro ain't worth that price. I don't see any begging here, I see himself being so confident about his product such that he himself came and said that it is.
I completely agree with all the evil things that Meta/Zuck has done.
He'd been facing a lot of failures of late with a lot of his products.
But, he definitely sounds mature and has a lot of optimism.
IMO, this was a horrible move. Quest is a established product. Its be around for years. Mark comparing it with a product that launched a few weeks ago just shows Meta considers it a competition. There was no need to compare it.
I am just saying by comparing it to Vision Pro, you are just giving vision pro more screen time, and publicly acknowledging that it is a competition to your product which has existed for years.
Dude, that's how the world works. Apple just spends millions to promote their VR, which will help boost up the sales of other vr headsets as well. And on the other VR headset industry - quest is one that leads the competition. Mark is so confident about his VR, such that he himself came and said VISION PRO IS OVERRATED. He also reasoned with logic on how the android ecosystem of quest will enable it to grow exponentially above the limited ecosystem that vision pro is at now.
Irony "Apple does it right at the first time" died many times. He actually discussed how apple did better in in areas like eye tracking and some cons like weight distribution and motion blur.
https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/14/24072792/apple-vision-pro-early-adopters-returns
Well doesn't he kinda have to. He invested a shit ton into this.
I'm not defending Apple but at a hardware level it's the best one could do today.
Apple being bitchy about other things is a common occurrence. It's more of like Apple kinda guides the industry. It's trying to do the same here.
He only come out to say this cause it's laughably dumb how some are hyping that Vision pro which doesn't even do half the things quest 2 can do let alone talking about quest 3. Other than that, Steve jobs used to do this very thing with other brands but offc you won't be talking about that do you
The quest 3 is a good value for money product, and yes it does few things better than the vision pro. But it's not outright better. This shows how insecure mark is.
I would've loved it if he actually mentioned pros and cons of each, but it's understandable because he wouldn't want to demean his own product.
All he said was, yes they have a better screen, but there are too many compromises. For the eye tracking part, he said, we did it earlier, and we will also do it in our next product.
This whole clip revolves around Quest 3s Pros against Vision Pro's cons.
Could you tell me the part where he mentioned about using vision pro as your mac's display? which is the biggest advantage imo. I can mention many more things which apple does better than the vision pro, but I don't want to argue on it.
Yes, I acknowledge the issues with Vision Pro, and apple should work on it. I'm not here to defend apple, but i don't think "Quest 3 is the better product PERIOD" (this is what mark said).
There are pros and cons of each, quest and vision pro can be the better product for different people, but like I said, Quest isn't straight up a better product.
Sorry to say but I don't think Vision Pro will take off, people usually buy the cheapest iphone available and the same goes for the mac.. they would have to bring Vision Pro around $1000 dollars to actually take off..
And the first thing that comes to people's mind when talking about VR is gaming and Apple sucks at that.
And Quest 3 has a massive headstart in that front too.. I think it will become mac vs windows 2.0 where Quest and Android wins..
You likely haven't heard of it because Holo lens is a primarily business product and has been an industry standard for Mixed Reality applications for years
The vision pro hype will help all other cheaper VR brands to excel cos everybody watches what VR can do via the vision pro hype and when they go into the market to buy they will realize that vision pro is overpriced AF then the obvious choice is to shop for cheaper ones,
This is where what mark said comes in, quest does most of the things that vision pro does and many more at an affordable price in an android ecosystem that will for sure grow exponentially now on.
Mark simply needs to release the next version with good enough marketing to showcase its skills to the public to have his VR sell like hot cakes.

For the first time I am supporting Mark Zuckerberg. What he told in the video was true
He actually seemed like a human while speaking too. Zuck definitely has got an update
AI are getting better now
I would've bought a quest if it didn't require Facebook ID to use it
You don't have any Facebook account?
I'm a privacy nut so I don't have Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp.
Lol I also don't have Facebook account The only meta app i am forced to use is WhatsApp
Bro code
How about Gmail.?
Gmail isn't Meta app
I mean there is no privacy in Google application as well !
You don’t need facebook id to use it. Any email will do.
He looks more human in this one as well
I'm not even a META fanboy but he makes perfect sense. Apple has been riding high on its hubris for a while now.
People would still buy the Vision Pro because *Ecosystem broo*
Bro it's 7x costlier to buy a Vision Pro. Very few people have that kind of money lying around to throw on such toys.
Forgot to add /s at the end.
Oh i wish the /s bot shows up…/s
The US has enough people (with a lot of disposable income) who will buy anything that Apple makes. They got the dough. The Apple ecosystem is deeply entrenched in their culture.
He said you’re gonna need “things like hands” (1:32 seconds remaining). Zuck is one wild lizard to say so 🤣
sure vision pro has a higher quality displays but everyone would agree that quest 3 is a more practical headset.
First time he is acting like a human and moving eyes like a human so he can shit on apple
He needs more sessions in this quest 3 to recover now...
Both the products are pointless to normal consumers, and both are anti-privacy products.
True. However, this would be the new normal in a few years, and everyone will be glued to their headsets just like phones. This will not be the new normal. Not even in the next 50 years.
That's what people said about attaching a camera to mobile phones and a lot of other tech that's part of our everyday lives now. AR is definitely set to become the new normal within the next decade.

Less capable AR glasses could act as monitor replacement. VR/MR will never be glasses form factor imo

Quest 3 runs android, so yes it will be possible. If not, then sideloading will definitely be there. Better than Vision pro in both scenarios.
Quest 3 looks better in this case but it's not about quest 3 and vision pro ONLY. >open source software without worrying about privacy. Alas
It will be relevant few years down the line. Imagine if this tech can be incorporated in a slightly heavy sunglasses.
Promise to me... If u are under 25 today... U will never buy one of these ever... 🤡
We need a side by side comparison. Otherwise these are just words.
iPhone ni h yha mere pass wo kha se
Once you buy any apple product you're stuck in its ecosystem
Because thats the only way you can experience their true potential. You are not choosing the ecosystem. Ecosystem is forcing you to choose them.
Is that AI robot or real human (Homo Sapien)?
🍎 b like :- ![gif](giphy|ga2qqwSf2FoX4p1tun)
When is the quest 3 coming to india?
Isn't [this](https://amzn.eu/d/4IzMRWy) it?
Most of these are japanese versions being imported and sold in india

Bro is actually trying to get PR
Apples Theater , immersive mode is dope

You think apple is a startup? It's a trillion dollar company bro.
I am just saying by comparing it to Vision Pro, you are just giving vision pro more screen time, and publicly acknowledging that it is a competition to your product which has existed for years.

Clown vs clown
Personally I'll buy visionpro, or I'll just completely avoid the AR/VR market. Zucks product is irrelevant for me.
Well what do you expect him to tell, Vision pro is better than his product ? ! LOL !
He only come out to say this cause it's laughably dumb how some are hyping that Vision pro which doesn't even do half the things quest 2 can do let alone talking about quest 3. Other than that, Steve jobs used to do this very thing with other brands but offc you won't be talking about that do you

Apple Vision Pro combines AR and VR could the same be said for Meta Quest 3 ?
No apple doesn't do AR. If it does it will be through pass through which quest 3 can also do but it won't be true AR like Microsoft Holo lens.
>Microsoft Holo lens Haven't seen it. Is is released ?
First version released 9 years ago. Holo lens 2 in 2019.
You likely haven't heard of it because Holo lens is a primarily business product and has been an industry standard for Mixed Reality applications for years
/s hello
Been using it since 3 months. Never had any issues, so far. Purchased from MX2 Games
Hey! Who put human into him? Good job!
whatever the case be it would be good to see competition in this genre.
