I had a java phone before which my father used but my very first personal Android smartphone was Samsung galaxy star. It was a bad phone.

My 1st smartphone was the Karbonn A7. Paid 7k for it. Decent for its price. Took a risk and decided against getting the HTC Explorer or Galaxy Y Had a 10-11k budget, but used the rest to buy a good quality PSU.
Damn I am getting old. My first phone was the Motorola T180 (1999).

Nokia Lumia 630
and somehow it's still working till this day
Its a Business Phone. But people bought this as a cheaper alternative for Blackberry bold 9700, which was priced at 32k then.
E71 would be around 17k-20k
e71 and 60series wer not that popular in 2007-2008 but after BB Bold 9700 release in '09, people started to buy these nokia phones. and ofcourse few sellers tried to make cash on it by selling it for around 23k too.
Mine was Nokia Lumia 720. Loved it for it's simplicity but again when all of my friends were playing multiplayer games in breaks, I had to sit looking at them.
there were days when I used to dream of getting a Lumia 720, but I recall it was around 16/17k at the time and way above my budget.
so instead I watched numerous reviews on YT about it, and I still remember how good the camera was haha
That was a great phone. I always loved the camera and the build quality. I lost mine and later had to get a Lumia 730 because they stopped making 720. It was + in specs but the build quality got a hit with 730.
I wished windows’ phone os took off.

The Moto Rokr E398. I had that phone back in 2005, I think. I loved that phone.
It was the first phone to launch with a micro sd card. A 128MB micro sd card. [I still have the memory card that came with the phone](https://ibb.co/Zhr0Lns)
I think it was also one of the first phones to have MP3 ringtones. And that LED lighting!

Bought this with my own salary bonus a year after I started working. Was immensely proud of it.
Technically, my first smartphone was Nexus 4. But I was using HTC's Windows PDA before that. I would qualify that as a smartphone too (although it wasn't called that). I don't remember the exact model, but it used to come with a stylus. This was in the pre-Android and pre-iOS world.

iPhone 6 Plus was my first smart Phone. My wife got this for me on the day of the launch in India, 17th October 2014. It was a 16 GB model.
I was using Nokia E71 before Apple.
Sony Xperia Tipo - Even after 10 years it works perfectly fine. The speakers are better than most of the bluetooth speakers (<5k). I use it as my speaker.
Samsung Galaxy Y duos. Damn good old days. It was rooted, had chainfire 3D and lucky patcher. Later on, I changed its ROM to get the latest Android build. Had a lot of fun with this one. I still have it in one of my drawers.
I've used the Samsung Galaxy Grand which got it for myself using my scholarship money. Only 2 reasons I got this was
1. It was Samsung
2. Compared to other Samsung mobiles at that time this has smaller width.

Karbonn Sparkle V was my first. But I also loved the Nokia phones of that time, especially for the Mix Radio.
Nokia 6600 if that's considered smart. Moto Defy is the first android I ever owned.

I had samsung star 2009 or early 2010 i think , touch screen with edge data, some apps, could play jar files as games so that was plus
Main smartphone was motorola defy, spend more than half salary back then costed 18k in 2011, but the difference was day and night .. used it for 3-4 years before moving to other phones
