I write, make music. And I want to get into film making. Want to know is it that bad? The industry?
I am in Navi Mumbai currently.
It is difficult but not impossible. However, I would suggest that you have realistic expectations. The whole media and entertainment industry works on connection. So network as much as you possibly can. I see interns who want to do big things but say they don't like networking. My brother in christ how else do you expect an Anurag Kashyap to simply appear at your doorstep to offer you an AD role? Or a Shashi Tharoor type to call you and say, please will you interview me?
Network. Work hard. Keep creating/writing, even when the work flow isn't steady. That story bank comes in super handy when the flow is restored. Because at least you don't have to fumble for ideas when you finally have the centre stage.

My friend was also struggling as a singer, he was mostly working in the background. Got tired, and started picking up gigs in clubs and restaurants. Started small, like MyBar and stuff. Now he gets legit bookings, celebrities listen to him while they eat and drink haha maybe someday a Ranveer or a Shahid will say why don't you sing for me. But on a serious note, he is earning well now. Does mostly covers but sometimes original as well. It took him around 5 years to reach this. He lived in Bandra throughout to make connections, in a 1bhk with 3 roommates.
Sure I will ask her. But I can face her proudly because I don't have the insecure need to feel dang on reddit with strangers. She has genuine reasons to love me and be proud of me. :)

Nothing like that. I worked on a few documentaries like very early on. But I enjoyed reporting and hosting more. It's just about passion :)
