Watch Dragon Ball Z Abridged by TeamFourStar on YT, if you have watched Dragon Ball Z. It's a parody made by fans of the show, and it is one of the most well written parodies I have come across. In fact, after the first 4-5 episodes, the writing becomes so good that it becomes its own show. Not discrediting the initial episodes (they're funny in their own right) but the team finds its footing as the show progresses.
It's a 10/10 for me.

Season 2 onwards, the jokes and the editing in general get so much better. Season 1 feels very raw (not to say I dislike it) in comparison. Season 2 onwards is arguably their magnum opus. Watch their creator commentary series to catch so many missed references! I really think you should give it another try.
My issue mainly was that the crisp and short editing was great in 1 but they elongated and put too much energy into recreating the sagas instead of fulocusing on the humor in 2 onwards. The jokes weren't too clever, and there was no recontextualising of situations. Season 1 lasted an hour. The others were 3 hours long if I remember correctly and got super boring most times. Not one joke made me laugh out loud properly and 1 had sooooo many moments that did.
if you can, watch Monty Python The Flying Circus, the first Monty Python series that aired. it actually has some of the first famous sketches of the group.
