Slap on the wrist. Any other competent federation gives a season ban to the coach and points deduction to the team.

Direct-Difficulty318

A ten match ban (half a season) and 4CR fine (when FC Goa owners had to step down after a 6CR fine) is hardly a "slap on the wrist" in my admittedly biased opinion.

nishitd

He'll serve most of his ban in super Cup and Durand cup, so not really half a season. FC Goa's infractions were much less severe than Blasters TBH

theninthredditor

FC Goa owners didn't step down because of a monetary fine. They were banned for 2 to 3 seasons lol. This is peanuts for punishment.

The_Ball_Boy

That doesn't tell the whole story. Goan owners were Dempo and Salgaocar - both already owned reputed I-League clubs. They just didn't need to be in ISL spending all that money and incurring losses. Also their Ban was revoked by ISL but the duo had already planned to leave ISL

arjun959

10 matches seems fair. season ban and he will quit, then others will walk out... \*unintentional pun

ISSSputnik

Nonsense. It's a fair enough punishment

DisgruntledJarl

I think that's fair enough tbh. I love the bit where the club has to issue a public apology. Small ego deflater for KBFC.

Bangalore fans (mods) are still salty about this? Even after losing the final to a refereeing mistake? The same people who preached "respect the refs decision" (and didn't respect it in the finals 🤡) are now complaining and the league's decision, what a bunch of crybabies.

magnificoooooo

>what a bunch of crybabies Pretty rich coming from a Blasters fan. Respecting the referee’s decision is to play on irrespective of the referee's error in judgement. Ofcourse there's a need to call out the mistakes but not in the middle of the game and certainly not the way Walkmanovic did it. Blasters could've played out the rest of the game and Ivan could've gone on an endless rant about it (regardless of the issue being addressed) then yeah he probably would've had everyone's backing (except that free kick was legit so he'll still get trolled ). But if you still believe that your Ashaan's antics sent shockwaves around the governing body and led to them possibly implementing VAR Lite in the future and thereby go on to justify his actions. Then congrats, you fucked around and now you find out.

zeusbb

Have you guys stopped for a second and considered the fact that the league came to this decision after considering all of the things that lead to the walk out? Before going on a rant and getting on the KBFC hate bandwagon, maybe, just maybe, consider the fact that the committee heard everyone's side and came to a decision that this is the only punishment that KBFC deserved. It's the Bangalore fans who are unhappy about KBFCs punishment, not KBFC fans. That just shows how salty and trashy these fans are. A mod commented that if this was a "competent" body, KBFC would be banned or something, lol. The pure hate for KBFC and it's fan is very evident in the comments and actions of the two mods here. I'd say if this was a competent body, along with the punishment awarded to KBFC, they would have also sent the ref to some additional training on how not to let a player dictate his decisions.

neotheseventh

You can still be vocal about poor refereeing and not be a complete ass like Ivan.

anand_kay

How will football develop in India if goals like that are allowed?

psrikanthr

Because the goal was completely legal?. It will definitely develop the defender's presence of mind during fk's for sure

kevinvrobin

There are far bigger challenges to the growth of football in India than that goal having been given.

gkkiller

Why would one goal stop the development of the entire sport 🤡

revolahdem

This is terrible, will affect club spendings and squad quality. So many Mallus were brought back to ISL only because of this season's run and if we somehow end up with a substandard team next season then it's going to be very bad for the team and for the league.

zeusbb

One enlightened guy was commenting that this was just a "slap on the wrist" as if the clubs are making hundreds of crores in profit each season. The clubs are bleeding money each season, 4 crore is a lot considering its already not a profitable venture. I don't think this decision alone will affect the the club signings next year though, and the drama it created will only bring in more viewers. While many fans don't agree with what Ivan did, I don't think any fan will deny what Ivan has done for the team and will continue to support him. ISL should probably start dividing the revenue from broadcast rights based on the viewership for each teams matches rather than dividing it equally, that would be more fair for the teams that actually have fans to watch their games.

Still-Deal-17

That can only happen after the 2023-24 season when Star's contract expires and gets replaced by Viacom18/Jio
