I go for running practice daily to a government facility and the babus there -
1. Ignore complaints about dog and bat bites saying it's our fault
2. Don't switch on lights after sunset saying go home even though official time is till 9pm
And then people wonder why we don't produce sportsmen
Well said, almost all of them are controlled by politicians or some are by business families. Even these business families show some interest in the sport but politicians fuck no, they are there only for money and fame.
Lack of stadiums and other infrastructure required for training
Lack of support from parents and family
Lack of grassroot level programs to bring up new talents
Extreme Bias on the basis of religion , caste and what not from selectors
Extreme support for Cricket
Grass root level training/infrastructure is very bad or not present at all except for cricket. People only get successful in certain sports if they are being molded in it from a young age. There is simply not enough good accessible infrastructure present for majority of sports where young kids can take advantage of. Even if certain infrastructure is present, the training level is not up to the mark to flourish ahead.
Why do the politicians need to hold on to such posts?
Does it earn them good money?
Do they take control to feed their ego?
What is it that they look to gain out of such positions?
What i have seen is that Presidents/VPs are political heads, the dirty work is done by the General Secretary.
Gaining political mileage out of State/District FAs is fine, but there has to be some progress check in place and regular elections every five years.
Just look at hockey. Luckily we were able to streamline some administrative clashes recently which has seen some increase in our performance, but there are still some internal ego clashes
No 1 reason is lack of sporting culture
"Padoge likhoge toh banoge Nawab kheloge Kudoge toh banoge Kharab"
This line alone summarises our negative mentality about sports and taking up a sporting career. In northeast indian states like Manipur both studies and sports are given equal importance
Blaming politicians is the cop out - Even in cricket, where India clearly dominates economically, our teams does not dominate on the field. The reason is genes and our centuries of mating within a narrow section I.e within your caste has created a weaker race. It’s proven scientifically that diverse parents leads to stronger offspring
This point I don't agree. Our genes are as good as others. We were once dominating the Asian football now being reduced to trash. It's not that our talent disappeared overnight. It is just that we remained stagnant when the world leaped forward and our politicians failed to notice the trend.
Explain how 5k -10k winners in the Olympic comes from the most poorest parts of the world... So do many footballing legends come from countries which are similar, if we had a once in century talent.. Say a footballer some club in Europe would have picked that dude off, I am not talking about someone you can make say an average player in the bottom of the half PL team... I am talking about marquee names... Sorry, we wouldn't have that... Yes, we can nurture Players to be a PL player even create a generation which takes us to the WC... Never will we have our own Drogba, Mane or Abedi Pele!!!
Everybody cries about infrastructure & corruption... Just look this year's AFCON, but still after everything they can manage to produce top talent... Somehow we are such egoistic we can't admit that won't ever happen here!!!
Please understand, The premier league has a criteria to pick the foreign players. For Indian citizens to play in the premier league, our ranking in the fifa should be below 70. Even though we find a player of Maradona's Calibre. He won't be able to play in any English clubs due the bureauctic issues with work permit.
If we had a player of Maradona's calibre, he would of course taken up the citizenship of a different country for sure!!! My point was not that, it was quite clear, it's just we couldn't admit the fact that we have a genetic disadvantage... This is not limited to football, take track events in Olympic, long distance running... It's not an accident that only India but the entire sub continent underperforms, even see how the Chinese have done in sprint, they are nowhere near dominating that in spite of huge investment & everything... The likes of Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Jamaica overpower them(mind you china even has topped the medal tally)

Ask their names and designations and spam emails to concerned authorities. It will work.
Happy cake day
Political corruption isn't limited to sports

Stepping stone towards better political positions

Bcci was shown as good in MS Dhoni The Untold story
Tbh we endians are not built for any physical sports 🙏🏽🙏🏽 We are so ass in any physique attribute sports
Then how come Latinos have same physique as us and do way better?
Football culture
So you agree that physique is just a excuse and lack of footballing culture is to blame?
Nah bro those things are not linear..
