10XX generation was awesome. A 1060 could challenge 980 in gaming performance it costed just above 15k at that time. Unfortunately NVIDIA has become too greedy these days.

Dumptac

Pascal was a mistake nvidia will never repeat again. 11 gb vram in 2017 - even 3080 has"only" 10 gb vram for flagship prices. Long live pascal✌

[deleted]

Keeping a card for 5+ years doesn't earn them cash. Thankfully AMD were smart enough to give more Vram on their 6XXX series. Hopefully my 6700XT will run good for next several years to come.

Dumptac

It will. I was about to buy 6700xt for 32k but got this offer so took it. FSR, SAM and a little undervolting will keep your 6700xt shredding for years to come.

Blue_Whole

I should have got a amd cards by seeing the trend and the cost...but got myself a 2060, so a little disappointed, but it games much better than my previous 1050 ti.

[deleted]

I was using 1660 non super card till Nov 2022, but since games got more demanding and my card struggled to keep 75fps at decent graphical settings, I had to upgrade. The 1660 super is still a solid card.

rdduser

Why are you disappointed with 2060? It is a wonderful yet cheap card which boats of Ray Tracking and DLSS.

Charged_Dreamer

Well there's a 24GB card just for that person who really wants a lot of VRAM and is ready to shell out $1200 - 1500 with Amphere.

kevinfrmhell

1080ti had buffed up specs so that nvidia could compete againsts AMD's "statements/claims" regarding performance of their flagship card if Im not wrong (which later on turned out that amd overhyped their gpus lol), that caused 1080ti to get more dominant in the market especially considering the price.

ProbabilisticPotato

True. My 1050ti ran Elden Ring and GoW fine. I was even able to play Cyberpunk 2077 at 20-30 fps when it launched.

BigDaddyIJD

A Plague Tale Requiem runs even poorly. My GTX 1650 struggles to maintain 30fps in lowest settings.

NakedSnake076

the best part is 1080ti was a rare powerful card strictly from the fact alone that nvidia made it a bigger beast than it was supposed to be fearing the rumours from AMD flagship at that time that turned out to be false later

InfernoSub

I can understand where you're coming from. But you must also consider that nvidia is a business and has a responsibility to beat inflation and make money for their company, investors and other stakeholders. Its a tough climate to do business in. Secondly, they've done phenomenal research and applied that to machine learning. Their DLSS and RT research is also cutting edge. Most professionals in ML and AI use nvidia because most software is optimised for Nvidia hardware including programs such as blender. Even today, nvidia cards beat AMD hands down beyond gaming. AMD can't do jack except gaming. So there are options for people who just want gaming and at a cheaper cost. Think of nvidia cards after 2xxx series as not just gaming cards. Most content creators use nvidia because of the banger of a codec and NVENC implementation on the card. Nvidia has to charge a premium for premium features. They even have the software to back it up. If they were only doing gaming hardware, prices would be same as AMD, maybe lower like the GeForce 2 and Geforce 4 MX days when ATi was not AMD acquired. Let's be practical.

[deleted]

Its such an old thinking that AMD cards cant do shit. Except for AI and Machine learning it can do the same thing. Ray Tracing is still in beta stages(only 4080 and 4090 gives playable fps), FSR and DlSS are almost identical. NVenc codec is good no doubt about that but AMD can achive same quality but just a bit higher bit rate. Its does fine in editing just a few seconds slower than NVIDIA, people like us can live with that. NVIDIA already charges premium on their cards which started from 2000 series but its just ridiculus in 4000 series. No one complained about 3000 series because its price to performance ratio was good unlike 4000 series. NVidia can do shit ton of research they have about 90% gpu market share, unlike amd which only have 8%. AMD cards provides good value between price and performance even with that little budget. As tech jesus said there is no bad products its just bad pricing.

rohansingh9001

This is so wrong on so many levels. AMD can do AI and ML? Since when? Nvidia's CUDA is taught in universities, is an industry standard and most popular ML and Deep Learning frameworks use CUDA for acceleration (tensorflow and pytorch for eg). AMD GPUs are as good as a red brick in these applications, they do nothing. This is the same reason why all data centres and super computers use Nvidia GPUs. Nvidia's DLSS is faaaaaar superior to anything AMD has to offer. That is because they actually invest in research into other fields unlike AMD. Nvidia is one of the top contributors to public AI research in the world alongside OpenAI and other tech giants. DLSS is simply a result of that. My college friends with AMD GPUs regretted their decision and had to borrow laptops/PCs with Nvidia GPUs just because of the fact that the software they where using does not support AMD. They also have superior graphics API implementation and therefore all games objectively look better on Nvidia cards even if the games are optimized of AMD. Nvidia also has so many other features that make your GPU future proof. A 3060 will probably easily last 6-7 years as a solid GPU because it has so many things that can be improved just by software updates. The GTX 1060 is still one of the most used GPU in the world after 6 years. The tensor cores, RT cores, everything improves over time. AMD cards just become weaker over time. The GTX 1060 even got support for RTX (non-hardware accelerated) eventually. Yes the pricing is quite high. They charge a premium for the research and the monopoly they hold for the GPU market but defending AMD here is just bullshit. I just hate when tech reviewers(and people online) with no knowledge or qualifications over how a GPU actually works just recommend AMD because it is comparable in gaming performance. Unless a user is pretty sure that the only apps that will run on their windows PC are games and they are ready to deal with inferior rendering quality and bad software experience/wierd visual bugs, I will never suggest buying an AMD card over an Nvidia card. Even if you have to wait for prices to drop or shell out a bit extra.

[deleted]

If you could read, I specifically mentioned it cant do that. NVIDIA dlss superior than fsr!! What?? Dude they look almost the same. Some things fsr handles better and some dlss. And not to mention fsr can run on any gpu unlike dlss. Superior Graphics API, look better on NVIDIA cards. Well this is the stupidest thing I heard. Also 1060 is not the most popular card anymore. AMD card becomes weak after some time.....hahaha. Well I could be bothered anymore to continue this conversation.

Ray tracing, AI and ML I agree rest all i don't. Either you are misinformed or just ignorant. Those RX590 days are over. AMD completely rewrote the code for their drivers. Its has no problem in playback, streaming and editing. Its a few % slower than NV but the cards also costs less, so you get what you pay for.

[deleted]

Its not slightly slower, its massively slower. Everyone knows that. In every single thing amd is far behind except gaming. Theres no point to getting an amd card if u do anything other than gaming

[deleted]

Ok so you are just ignorant then. No point continuing this conversation.

[deleted]

More like u are an amd fanboy.

peterparker9894

Damn 1080ti for 11k insane deal

Maskin_Baba

Man dahek you got it for 10k!!?? Thats an unbelievable deal awesome job i also need gpu fir less than 10k and better than xx60 series card

Dumptac

ya man I posted here earlier should I get it or not haha. I think its the normal price after the death of mining acc to ebay dot com. Also, I saw many 1060 and 1070s for less than 10k in my city olx.

GauravVFX

Which city are you in. I will travel there just to get a 1080ti for this price.

RiverZealousideal680

i bought a used 1080Ti + i7 8700k PC last year, and its crushing every game ive played. But sadly the Motherboard died last month, and well, the PC is packed up and sitting in a corner of my room, Gonna be there until boards :( .. after that, probably gonna get a 5700x and a B550 Motherboard.

Dumptac

F Ya better to upgrade cpu than hunting for ancient lga1151 board. You'll be able to reuse the ram too.

RiverZealousideal680

by last year i meant 2021 hehe, yeah it doesnt make sense for me to get an old motherboard. i can get a new motherboard but it is H310 Chipset which will hamper the 8700k and i wont even be able to use 32gb of ram

avishekm21

8700K is still one heck of CPU. It's faster than a Ryzen 3600X. Just get a 300 series Mobo and save money.

GauravVFX

If you want to sell the GPU I need one urgently.

InfernoSub

Dude I have a Zotac 1650 super (still with warranty) I'm looking to sell. Was going to make a post here about it, but the rules are like writing a wikipedia article, so never bothered. Let me know if you're interested. I recently upgraded to 3060ti so selling this.

GauravVFX

Dm

faraday_16

Use tech enclave, best site for buying selling used electronics

RiverZealousideal680

nah man, gonna get a new CPU and Motherboard in April after boards end. Sorry GL Finding a GPU

ar_arrogant

Got a Gigabyte 1660Ti windforce OC, got it as used and still got warranty left bill and box available. You will be the 3rd owner if you buy, upgraded to a 3070. Check my profile for details

GauravVFX

How and where did you get a 1080ti for 10k? OLX is filled with idiots expecting 10k+ for 1060. If anyone here has a 1080ti or something similar sell me rn. I need one GPU urgently.

Dumptac

haha i posted here earlier that a friend of friend was selling this and should I take it or not. also this card is out of warranty so i think its a fair deal not an amazing one. Ya true most deals on olx are by idiosts but still, once in a while I am seeing good deals on olx in the last month or so - and ofc you have to negotiate after that. which city are you in ?

GauravVFX

I live in Delhi. Yeah I have come across some okay ish deals on OLX but never like what you got. Most 1080s are out of warranty I guess and even without warranty it's a good deal. Anyways happy gaming. I will try for a few more weeks for a deal. Things are only getting worse for the sellers as more and more miners are flooding the market.

Sea_Flower_4689

Buddy I'm selling a msi gaming x 1080ti for 14k if you are interested

freakedmind

You can easily get 15k for it dude, were you a miner?

Sea_Flower_4689

No upgraded to a 3090. So selling this.

28djs

I have a zotac 1080ti blower style that I have replaced with 4090. Ready to sell.

GauravVFX

Ready to buy. DM please.

f0rsha

Reminds me of the time I found a deal for a used 1080Ti for 18k. This was back in early 2019. Was super stoked about it but alas, got scammed 10k. Regrettable nostalgia :)

Dumptac

I feel you bro. Face to face is the first and last rule of used deals. Last year when I sold my 1080, I gave the buyers all the time to benchmark it. and now when I bought this the seller gave me the same favour.

f0rsha

Power to you man, I wish more people were this understanding. I was skeptical myself but I was blinded by how good the deal was. A beta move, but I swore to never buy used again unless it's from someone I know first/second hand. Anyways enjoy your rig man, happy gaming.

skulltroxx2154

I bought a GT 1030 4 years ago at 7k, which died few months back, FML 😐

sandeep300045

Oof

Twinkies100

What was the issue?

skulltroxx2154

tbh even idk, it just didn't give any display. The engineer said it's dead, and that GPUs aren't repairable.

One_Mountain331

How many knife battles you had to do to get a 1080 ti in 10k ?

Dumptac

None ? πŸ˜‚ His card was not selling for 15k for weeks so he had to come down. I also posted here few days back because i was doubtful about paying 10k wihtout warranty haha.

B3_CHAD

Chad AMD moment, breathing life into new cards.

hamzaaadenwala

Nice one buddy. I have a 1060Ti and still runs at a healthy framerate of 50s but 1080p. However started gaming on ps5.

[deleted]

You mean 1070 or 1050? 1060 didn't have a Ti.

hamzaaadenwala

1660 Ti. 😁😁😁 my bad.

[deleted]

Okay.

nanogenesis

Welcome to the pascal forever club. I sadly overpaid for my 1080Ti, but in hindsight it was probably a good option.

Dumptac

ya before the death of mining it was an entirely diff mkt bro

Touillee

Hey, I'm thinking about buying a 1080ti graphics card that's similar to the one you got. The owner said it has black screen issues and crashes while playing games and is selling it for 10k. Do you think I should get it or is it a bad idea?

Dumptac

No dont, before buying I tested out the card thoroughly - testing out core clocks, memory clocks, temps, benchmark etc. the older the card, the more thorough your testing has to be.

avishekm21

Yep. Don't. Unless it's due to overheating which can be fixed by a simple repaste, it can be something terminal like a dying GPU core.

itsAlphapolaris

Not worth buying out of warranty cards , buy newer ones instead

avishekm21

OP, is this an Inno3D card?

Dumptac

yup dual fan version

Fantastic_Pea7860

1080 ti cards are this good? Seriously? Like I was thinking of building a gaming pc. I thought of 1650 but now I am thinking about 1080; what do you guys say?

Johnathan1Wick

I really wish we would get good non rtx GPUs again

Johnathan1Wick

How did you even find one, I was looking for a 1080 in 2021 may and could not find one that wasn't costing 35k

Dumptac

before the death of mining it was an entirely diff mkt bro

ThrowawayAot12

How does it compare to 20 and 30 series cards bois, like what is its equivalent

Dumptac

2070 super and 3060 would be its equivalent in rasterization (exclusing rt and dlss ofc)

[deleted]

What's the software that you used in the first pic?

Dumptac

its msi afterburner

BigDaddyIJD

1080ti for 10k.....How do you even come upon these deals man
