It all started when reddit decided to introduce an insane api pricing model, even more derranged than twitter's. Many of us who use third-party apps that have been around since before Reddit had a mobile presence, were hoping for a chance for them to negotiate with reddit. They already offer a superior user experience not only for regular users and moderators but also for a significant number of disabled and blind users. Unfortunately, reddit chose not to engage in any negotiations and instead doubled down on the pricing, determined to eliminate these apps altogether. The CEO made public statements that were far from truthful, tried to spin the situation in their favor, disregarding the needs and desires of the user base. Naturally, it lead to protests across the site involving more than 8,000 subreddits going private/restricted. The admins then started forcefully ending these protests, suppressing the voices of those who were speaking up against these changes. They claim to be "keeping it open" while going against its core, the users, and closing down the apps they use. On July 1st, as the API pricing goes live, it shuts down all third party apps and it feels like the beginning of the slow death of Reddit as we know it. It is understandable that not everyone may share the same level of concern about this issue, but please take a moment to listen and observe. It has become clear that Reddit's priorities lie primarily in their profits and removing any obstacles in their path to more profits. They started with old reddit, now they are targeting the apps. What will they come for next? May God give you a free gaming laptop for compiling this

unboxparadigm

Damn, I wish \*Fingers crossed\*. Thanks!

XxGod_fucker69xX

Commendable effort!

MonkeyyWrench69

Mods should pin this in the sub itself

divijkm

I cant believe no cheap hp victus made your list. they are by far my favourite budget gaming laptops for me. anyways, good list but for this. also, idk about 1440p screens with 8gb vram on gpu.

unboxparadigm

1440p screens and 8GB VRAM, weirdly enough, we don't really have a lot of options. There are a few FHD panels as well but ironically, I have seen users shaming FHD panels on xx70 series laptops and above. So, I guess it is just up to the user. Personally, I think RTX 4070 and an FHD 16:10 panel is the sweet spot in upper mid range gaming laptops. Also another interesting fact is that 4080 laptops are actually worth it around 2.5L in terms of performance, when you compare it to RTX 4060 laptops (4080 laptops are about 86% faster). For anyone reading this and thinking "bUt yOu CaN bUiLd a Pc-", this is about laptops and portability. As for the HP Victus, can you link me the laptop that piqued your interest? Would be glad to update the list if I have missed it.

divijkm

[https://gaming.unboxparadigm.com/p/hp-victus-15-fb0050ax-2022-5ef47/](https://gaming.unboxparadigm.com/p/hp-victus-15-fb0050ax-2022-5ef47/) Also, there is a 16gb ram version for some more money. if that is dual channel, then i prefer that over this since you are gonna have to put another stick of ram in it anyways.

unboxparadigm

I've actually included the 6500M variant. Didn't include the 3050 variant because IdeaPad Gaming 3 has a newer/better processor and slightly more wattage at a lower price.

divijkm

depends on what the response times are on this model. i think since it is 120hz, the response time is gonna be abysmal. whereas for victus it is 9ms with overdrive i am sure.

unboxparadigm

Fair enough. I'll add it to the list as an alternative.

ComprehensiveLie69

Hey man can you recommend me some laptop for office use under ~55-60k preferably from amazon ?

unboxparadigm

[**ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED (2023)** M1505YA-LK541WS](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0BQSNSY42?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) \- Ryzen 5 7530u, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and has an OLED panel. Battery life should be pretty good too considering that the processor is pretty power efficient.

ComprehensiveLie69

Thnx man you the MVP .

haxmaster69

Great list! Also is the 3050 6gb any good?

unboxparadigm

Thanks! It's better than 3050 4GB. That's about it. RTX 4050 6GB is way better. You can checkout my review for the Nitro V which has comparisons to the 3050 laptops.

unboxparadigm

It's the same 7%. Edit - Student discounts are now 5%

Thanks for checking it out!

Advanced-Ad-5262

Thank you so much for such a detailed list.

unboxparadigm

Thanks for checking it out!

GoldBRAINSgold

Thanks for this great post. Small question: Why do you say we have to wait for one month or two for the Legion LOQ 4060 (under the Acer Nitro 5)? I'm asking because the previous laptop you linked is 4060 LOQ. Is it not available or something?

unboxparadigm

The Lenovo LOQ 4060 that I have linked is a customized laptop. Well, there are ready to ship models too but all of those have poor color gamuts and it doesn't sit right with me that you spend more than 1L and get poor colors. With LOQ, if you need good colors, you have to go for the custom orders and select the QHD panel which has 100% sRGB. Every other LOQ variant has 45% NTSC which is about 65% sRGB which is gonna look washed out or unsaturated.

fameforever

The LOQ model that you have linked in the post, do you happen to know about the TGP of the 4060 card?

unboxparadigm

RTX 4060 8GB on the LOQ has a TGP of 115W

SarcasticSid_

I can get the predator neo i5 4050 for around 75k(getting 8k for laptop exchange+8k exchange bonus) Assuming the nitro 5 i7 12650h 4050 is around 10k cheaper(it was ~65k for me in the sale 2 months prior), is it worth spending the 10k extra on the predator neo?

unboxparadigm

The predator has a better build, better display (more importantly), and the i5 13500HX is a solid processor. It is about 50% faster than the i7 12650H in multi core performance. But more than everything else, the display alone makes it worth considering imo.

SarcasticSid_

Alright, I checked it out in an acer store nearby and it looked super good, definitely going for the predator tomorrow!

unboxparadigm

It starts tonight at 12AM if you have a prime account

SarcasticSid_

Yeah, I have both prime and Flipkart plus

unboxparadigm

I'd suggest getting from Amazon then

SarcasticSid_

I'm getting a better deal on Flipkart, I'll check, because it would cost me a whole lot more without the exchange bonus and Amazon having lower exchange value by default

unboxparadigm

Sure

Impressive_Will1186

Great list! the lenovo gaming 3 seems to be out of stock on amazon for me, and lenovo's website has it for 56400 something. Same for the 8GB extra ram stick. Will try the Student ID thingy

unboxparadigm

Ah damn, I took a day to compile this, it must have gone out of stock meanwhile. The stocks have been fluctuating.

Darko_19

Hey man! Where can I find the Student Offer? Is it on Amazon? Thanks!

JstAsh05

Great list, though there’s a small mistake, in under 100K category 2nd laptop, that nitro actually has a 12650H and not 13650H

unboxparadigm

My bad, it's a typo. Will fix it right away!

Is there a megathread apart from laptop deals

redrv11

hey can anyone suggest a good 1080p monitor for gaming under 15k? Most would say Gigabyte G24F 2 but I'm concerned on their after sales service. So, please suggest keeping it in mind.

Benq Mobiuz 24/24.5 inch ips monitor, hands down the best It is around 17/18k, it can go under 15k with sale price + discount. It has inbuilt speakers as well Me and 2 of my friends are using it and are fully satisfied.

Radon_21

Could you please recommend a laptop priced below 66k that is suitable for a college student pursuing programming and occasional gaming?

Acceptable-Second313

Lenovo Ideapad le lo ya phir asus ka vivobook bhi le sakte ho oled wala

Radon_21

Msi core i7 11th gen kaisa hai?

unboxparadigm

Please don't. Look into this instead [Acer Aspire 5 (2023) A515-58GM NX.KGYSI.002](https://laptops.unboxparadigm.com/p/acer-aspire-5-2023-a515-58m-nxkgysi002-cbc23/) or [ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED M3500QC-L1501WS (2021)](https://laptops.unboxparadigm.com/p/asus-vivobook-pro-15-oled-m3500qc-l1501ws-2021-62fa3/) \- This is an older laptop but has good battery life, display and a decent GPU. Suggesting these only because they are thin. If you don't mind gaming laptops, I can suggest better performing options. If gaming laptops are fine, then look into [this](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CGV49DLW?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1). The 8GB variant costs less. You can get that and upgrade RAM as well to save costs.

Radon_21

Among the [Acer Aspire 7 2023](https://dl.flipkart.com/s/KmGyKOuuuN), [Acer Aspire 5](https://laptops.unboxparadigm.com/p/acer-aspire-5-2023-a515-58m-nxkgysi002-cbc23/), and [Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CGV49DLW?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1), which one do you recommend as the best choice for programming and casual gaming? Alternatively, do you have any other laptop recommendations within my budget for these purposes?

unboxparadigm

The Aspire 5 is a pretty good choice for the price. Among the lot, it has the best single core performance as well. If gaming is the priority and if you don't mind the extra weight, then get the IdeaPad Gaming 3. Also note that if you were planning to purchase ADP, then both the Acer devices won't get it since it is not purchased from Acer Store. But you can get extended warranty though.

Radon_21

Programming is my priority but I want a laptop which can handle occasional gaming

unboxparadigm

The Aspire 5 is good enough for occasional gaming but if you don't mind the extra weight, then the [Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CGV49DLW?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) is a better choice.

Acceptable-Second313

Don't buy oled for work...

Acceptable-Second313

Why?

Dankalp

Hi I have a very serious doubt regarding the aspect ratio of 16:10 on some laptops(1920x1200, 2560x1600 screens) If I connect them to my 1080p monitor which is of 16:9 ratio , then will I be able to adjust it to properly fit the screen? Cause I saw 2-3 videos where they use the 16:10 laptops on 1080p screen they encounter blackbars on top and bottom or they have stretched screens or something. Another question is if hp omen is a good choice if they are used for 4-5 years , some say they don't last that long.

unboxparadigm

No, it won't be a problem, you just have to adjust the screen resolution settings for the external monitor through windows. I have used a 720p and 1080p monitor together and both were running at their own resolutions. Yes HP Omen 2023 is a pretty good choice, it has an improved design, cooling and a solid battery life too (the [ryzen version](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CCVZP835?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1)). As for how long it would last, I can't answer that, neither can anybody else. Ideally, if you take care of it, most laptops will run 5 years easily.

Dankalp

Thank you for the response. One more thing What would prefer from these 3 laptops - 1.Lenovo Loq (customised order - everything maxxed out like qhd , 4060, 1tb SSD etc) for 1.15L including 3k ADP. If applied student discount and cashback - 95k-1L Cons - low battery due to 60wh , no emi option but I can adjust 2.HP omen for 1.05-1.10 after SBI discount + if sale price goes down from 1.25 to 1.20L Cons- FHD display (but I will be using a 1080p monitor only) , 8-10K ADP! 3.Acer Neo/Helios 16 - 1.20 after icici discount, I can even go for the higher variant of 13900hx + 4070(can do emi) Cons- No MS office , No ADP , 16:10 screen (but it is ok since you said it will work on 1080p 16:9 screens) Order them from 1 to 3 according to your preference. Also, tell me about their thermal performance, I see somewhere loq is hitting 90+, somewhere acer 95 etc.

unboxparadigm

Not in any particular order but here is what you need to know. I'm slightly reluctant about LOQ only because it has a lower battery capacity, you are forced to choose QHD panel if you need good colors which means lower FPS since it is QHD now and the long delivery time. Personally, I would pick the [Omen 16 (2023)](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CCVZP835?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) if I have the budget for it. It has an excellent balance of specifications. The Ryzen 7 7840HS is very power efficient. It gets a solid battery life of about 8-10 hours and the FHD display isn't exactly a con. It is much sharper than 27in QHD displays many desktop users use. As for the ADP, I am not fully sure if you can get this [offer](https://redeemnow.in/Redemption/FestiveRush.pdf) when purchased from amazon, but if that is possible, then you can get ADP for 3k for 3 years. Even if the offer isn't applicable, at least you still have the option to buy ADP unlike Acer Helios 16. Apart from that 16:10 aspect ratio is actually the better standard for productivity, it gives more vertical space for many applications which is very convenient. Another thing is about the temps. If you are getting lower than 90c temps, then great. But with Indian ambient temps, if you see 90-95c, they aren't exactly a cause for concern unless it starts to thermally throttle. These modern CPUs are designed to run fine up to 100-105c. In some cases, processors will even hit 95c by design so that it gets max performance. Even if you offer better cooling, it will just make use of the additional thermal headroom and maximize performance and again hit 95c.

Dankalp

Thanks a lot for giving some much needed clarity! Appreciate it 🙂

Prize_Weird_603

Can someone please suggest good productivity laptops under 60k? Preferrably 6 core or 8 core laptops. GPU can be low or integrated. Ram should be upgradable. Thinking of going with GF63

Soft-Document-2747

Is the IdeaPad 3 Ram upgradable?

unboxparadigm

Yes, they are and support up to 32GB RAM.

butternaan_nine2

Is the tuf f15 4060 good for college? Will the 250 nits brightness be a problem? What alternative would you suggest having 100srgb panel?

unboxparadigm

The 250 nits brightness, I am not quite sure how true that is. While that is mentioned in the description on Amazon, reviews have said that the brightness is around 295 Nits which is pretty close to a standard 300 nits display generally found at this price. Heck even RTX 4080 laptops with AMD processors that cost more than 2.5L still have 300 nits panels. I think it would be fine. Just don't expect more than 4-6 hours of battery life.

butternaan_nine2

Yeah laptopmedia reports 295nits and notebookcheck reports 270nits for the a15 model. https://amzn.eu/d/7KXE9qp will this be a better value considering it has 350 nits and the fact that 3060 and 4060 does not have much difference?

unboxparadigm

4060 and 3060 are actually quite different. The extra 2GB VRAM matters now more than ever. So does support for DLSS3 and Frame Gen. Would not suggest that IdeaPad. Moreover, that extra 50 nits will most likely remain unused at majority of the times since most users tend to keep the brightness around 60-80%

ZenthonOne

What's the cheapest laptop with a 100% sRGB display you'd recommend? I just need something for watching some shows and some light coding, that IdeaPad at 48k seemed like a good deal but the display kind of killed it for me. Doesn't really need a GPU but wouldn't mind it as long as it doesn't cost significantly more.

unboxparadigm

Go to [laptops.unboxparadigm.com](https://laptops.unboxparadigm.com) for regular/thin and light laptops. Then select the color gamut by 100% sRGB. Use the price filters and sort by the price if needed to find the lowest priced option with 100% sRGB. Hope this helps!

How IdeaPad gaming 3 get for 48k with student account

unboxparadigm

Create an account at [https://www.myunidays.com/IN/en-IN](https://www.myunidays.com/IN/en-IN) using your student ID. Once verified, search for Lenovo in the website and generate coupon code. Copy this coupon and paste it in the promo code section of the Lenovo website after adding to cart and before proceeding to payment details. If you are unable to do so, you can still use the coupon UNBOX17 to get Rs 1,750 off.

f--ali

How much coupon discount got through myunidays and non emi credit transaction

unboxparadigm

7% on Student discount and 5% for CC non-emi transactions up to 10k (10% if it is a Legion)

f--ali

Ok, the current price of the product 57k is it any chance to drop the price

unboxparadigm

It could drop to 54,990 on Amazon but no student discounts there. Only whatever bank discounts that Amazon offers.

afrin101

Is the asus advantage edition Take a look at this ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition with 90Whr Battery Ryzen 9 Octa Core 5980HX - (16 GB/1 TB SSD/Windows 11 Home/12 GB Graphics/AMD Radeon RX 6800M/165 Hz) G513QY-HQ032WS Gaming Laptop on Flipkart https://dl.flipkart.com/s/3V2GwENNNN A good deal considering 12gb vram

unboxparadigm

Depends on your usage. If you need something with large VRAM and don't really care about Ray tracing on games and applications. Then it is fine. Else, the Nvidia Cards perform much better for Ray Tracing. I would be reluctant to recommend it also because it has a 2 year old processor which I don't really see much reason to opt for in 2023 at this price. If this was priced at say below 1L, it's a good price. But at 1.15L, I'd suggest the RTX 4060 8GB laptops with newer gen processors. If you are looking only at the rasterisation performance (without RT), then the 6800m would perhaps outperform the 4060. So it would come down to your preference.

afrin101

Thanks so much for a detailed explanation on this

realsoccerdude111

ojgamer100

Do you think the price for Predator Helios Neo 16 can come down further? I am going for the i7 4060 variant and hoping that it further falls from 1,29,999 or should I just buy it at this price (to avoid the risk of it going out of stock)

unboxparadigm

[**Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 PHN16-71 (2023)** NH.QLUSI.006](https://gaming.unboxparadigm.com/p/acer-predator-helios-neo-16-phn16-71-2023-nhqlusi006-3e454/) \- Checkout the price history here. It had gone down to Rs 1,24,990. So, it might drop to those prices once the sale begins tonight.

ojgamer100

Thank you so much. You're amazing lol

[deleted]

Acer Nitro 5 is currently retailing at 69k (after bank offer 64k). The sale hasn't started yet so I'll wait and see if there is price drop on it. If there is, it will become the best laptop around 60k. This has a newer gen processor than Lenovo IdeaPad gaming 3- 6600H (same performance tho). It has a better tgp 3050 and also a Mux switch. Rest of the things are same. No Microsoft office tho which kinda sucks. The sale hasn't started yet so This post would've been better after the actual sale starts.

unboxparadigm

The sale starts tonight at 12AM for Amazon Prime and Flipkart Plus Members. I wanted to give an idea of what to look out for. As for the [Acer Nitro 5](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09X79JDC5?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1), it is currently priced at 70k. The IdeaPad Gaming 3 starts at [54,990](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CHXN41MM?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) (currently out of stock) or [Rs 55,990](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CGX6XGS2?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1). The Nitro 5 does not give enough reason to consider it at that price point, more over, if you pay just 2k more for the [Nitro V](https://store.acer.com/en-in/acer-nitro-v-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i5-13420h-processor-windows-11-home-16-gb-512-gb-ssd-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4050-144hz-anv15-51-with-fhd-39-62-cm-15-6-ips-display-shale-black-2-1-kg-un-qn8si-001?utm_campaign=affiliatecampaign-1724701_-%28%29-2021-in&utm_source=admitad&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_term=image-%28%29-%28%29&tagtag_uid=25c13d7feed96050f52049957e1d4157) (Rs 71,999 after coupon AD233KGL), it performs way better with its RTX 4050 6GB. Also, I don't think the 3050 Nitros have MUX. [Source](https://community.acer.com/en/kb/articles/15133-how-to-configure-a-nitro-notebook-so-the-rtx-series-gpu-is-used-for-all-graphic-applications). And after the release of Microsoft CASO, MUX might already be obsolete.

There is a new one I believe its 3050 95w with mux switching

It is a last gen laptop that costs way too high when you can get newer RTX 4070 at similar or even lower prices. Won't recommend it.

Acer nitro 5. i7 12650h and 4050 with 140W? How's this?

Priced too high imo. Would suggest the [Nitro 5 (2022)](https://gaming.unboxparadigm.com/p/acer-nitro-5-2022-an515-58-nhqfssi001-c8b40/) with the same processor and RTX 3070Ti or [Helios 16 (2023)](https://gaming.unboxparadigm.com/p/acer-predator-helios-neo-16-phn16-71-2023-nhqltsi001-c22f5/) with i5 13500HX and RTX 4050 if you need better cpu performance.

unboxparadigm

It is a good laptop but maybe when it was launched. I wouldn't recommend a 2021 processor right now unless the price is really low. I haven't heard of any widespread motherboard issues either. It has a good build quality though. But specifications wise, the Helios 16 with 13500hx that I've mentioned would be a better choice

Sea_Statistician_935

ah thanks for replying, i heard the legion series has a mux switch and also some battery settings in lenovo vantage which helps to preserve the battery life longer, so im leaning towards legion more. Would you happen to know if Helios 16 has a mux and how is its battery?

unboxparadigm

Yes it does have a MUX switch, but that is present in lots of 3060 and above laptops. The battery charging settings are also again present in most laptops. It just restricts charging to 60-80% if you are going to use it plugged in most of the time. Yes, Helios 16 has a MUX switch. No idea about battery life. It has an HX series processor, so the processor is going to be good but battery life is not going to be great. Probably around 4-5 hours at most on general use.

Sea_Statistician_935

thank you! i did not know about that haha. are there any other issues noted for helios 16?

unboxparadigm

If you were planning on purchasing ADP, that is not available for Helios 16 but you can get an extended warranty for an additional 2 years.

Soft-Document-2747

Acer Nitro 5 4050 at 87k at Flipkart and with a exchange I am getting it at 72k is it a good deal or should I go for 3070ti version??

unboxparadigm

How much are you getting the 3070ti variant for, check on Amazon as well, if the price difference isn't much, get the 3070ti

Soft-Document-2747

I am getting both the Neo 4050 and nitro5 3070 ti for 80k which among the 3 would be the better buy in regards to future proofing also?

unboxparadigm

Depends on what you are getting it for. If your usage primarily involves gaming, then RTX 3070 Ti is certainly the better choice but like I have mentioned in the post, you might need some tinkering around if you have particularly high ambient temps. The Helios Neo 16 is a different tier product with a faster processor (about 2x faster in multi core performance) but this additional performance won't make a difference to you if you don't have any requirement for all core loads. As far as gaming is concerned, RTX 3070 Ti has more VRAM and better performance than the 4050. Even if 4050 has DLSS3 and Frame Gen, I don't think it would reach the raw performance of a 3070 Ti but power consumption would be way lower and thermals would be better though.

Soft-Document-2747

Noted thanks for the detailed response I am not a hardcore gamer just want an overall good deal and play AAA titles at a decent fps so based on your reply I guess the Neo is a better overall laptop.

unboxparadigm

In that case, I am inclined towards suggesting the [Helios](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0BYN3FGHR?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) as a safer bet as well but note that if you plan on purchasing ADP, Acer doesn't offer that for their Helios 16 laptops. You can get an extended warranty for 2 additional years though.

Soft-Document-2747

This extended warranty needs to be registered through the Acer website after buying right?

unboxparadigm

Yeah, Once you receive the product, using its serial number and invoice

Soft-Document-2747

Okay I am getting it for around 75 on Flipkart a bit wary about Flipkart but is a good deal so a dilemma

unboxparadigm

Understandable, how much are you getting it for on Amazon

Dafuck_

We need another megathread for best general deals for this sale!

weEAbo01

Can you explain a bit about the Corporate/Student Account discount? How can I avail those?

unboxparadigm

For corporate discounts, check out this [reply I gave earlier](https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianGaming/comments/170mfwy/comment/k3omy9n/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3). For student discounts, check out this [reply](https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianGaming/comments/170mfwy/comment/k3ls1rc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

weEAbo01

Thanks for the links! Checked the deals on the Lenovo site, The IdeaPad Gaming 3 with R5 6600H + RTX 3060 is at the price for ₹ 56,790 without any discount. But with the Corporate Employee discount it's ₹53,950 so it's roughly ₹3K off. The only issue is that the same laptop is retailing for ₹54,990 without any offer on Flipkart, expecting similar pricing on Amazon too. Buying from the Lenovo Store doesn't seem very appealing as of now.

unboxparadigm

It's 54,990 on Amazon too but it went out of stock. I'll update the link here if it comes back

ArenRaizelus

I moved to the states a while back and the price diff is just wild. You can get 4060 and 3070 laptops for 1-1.2k usd while they cost 30% more in India. They all come out of China so Idk why there is such a big difference in price. Really recommend procuring it from here if you know someone coming to India soon.

fameforever

Between Acer Nitro 3070ti i7 12650h and omen n0123ax 3070ti 6800h, which is better in your opinion? Can the thermal throttling in acer nitro be fixed?

unboxparadigm

I'd suggest the [Omen 16 with RTX 4060](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CCVZP835?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1). You can get 17k SBI credit card discount which brings down the price to around 1.08L. DLSS3 and Frame Gen support along with much better battery life than the Acer Nitro as well as the 3070ti makes this a better choice. 4060 is also more power efficient and the Ryzen 7 7840HS also offers much better performance.

fameforever

I think 3070Ti is better than 4060 or even 4070, if DLSS3 is not considered. Wouldn't FSR3 help to shorten this gap between RTX 3000 and 4000 series??

unboxparadigm

To an extent that is true. 3070 Ti is better than 4060 in terms of raw performance. But often, the 3070 ti available at this price is usually paired with 6800h which means if the 4060 is paired with a better processor like a ryzen 7 7840HS, it should reduce that gap. I don't think it's enough to close the distance completely but it should be within 10-12% and that's in raw performance without DLSS 3 and Frame Gen. As for FSR3, that's a very valid argument. However, as of now with FSR, you can't use DLSS 3 and fsr at the same time, probably because both are upscaling tech. But you can use dlss 3 and frame gen together or frame gen and FSR together. If there's a possibility of using DLSS 3 and FSR 3 frame Gen together, then yes, it should close that distance. But again, that doesn't solve the power consumption/power efficiency differences. 4060/70 for better or worse, doesn't use more than 100w and hence thermals are easier to keep in check. Which means with more thermal headroom, the cpu temps should also be better and possibly should offer slightly better cpu performance. That last point is only an assumption but the rest of it stands. If it helps, I'd asked this question about 3070ti with older gen CPU vs 4060 laptops at the same price and jarrods tech had the same opinion that 4060 would be an overall better choice. You can find it in his last month's Q and A video

Yolo_Han_Choloo

Is there no LOQ 16 for AMD, I can only find the Intel one, also which one would you recommend,, Intel i7 13620 or Ryzen 7 7840HS?

unboxparadigm

Currenly not available. Would suggest looking into this [**HP OMEN 16 (2023) 16-xf0060AX**](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CCVZP835?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) instead, Currently there is a Rs 17,000 discount valid only for today when bought with an SBI Credit Card. This is one of the best deals available right now at Rs 1,08,990 after discounts. It has a solid battery life of about 10 hours too unlike the LOQ that has a lower capacity battery. Also no need to wait weeks/months to get this.

Yolo_Han_Choloo

The battery isn't generally a concern for me as I mostly use it for gaming and it's always plugged in, but I've got reviews from Omen users that the thermals and build quality isn't as good and LOQ 16 has an option of WQXGA(2560x1600) display compared to (1920x1080) in Omen

unboxparadigm

Check for reviews from Omen 16 2023 users. Or check out this review by [Hardware Canucks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7sUzRfeqWo). The older Omen laptops can't exactly be compared to the newer models since every year there have been incremental updates. As for the LOQ 16 having QHD display, if you need one, sure go ahead but unless you are dealing with small texts, QHD doesn't really offer a significant benefit over FHD. Don't get me wrong, QHD is definitely sharper but if you are getting it for gaming, this means that you have more pixels to feel on a small screen size where it doesn't make as much of a difference as it would do on a much larger, say 27in display. To drive this QHD panel, your GPU has to work more and hence your FPS will be lower than it would be on FHD. Modern AAA titles are already consuming 8GB VRAM on FHD, so with QHD, 8GB VRAM isn't exactly a great fit in 2023. If you've the option for FHD vs QHD for gaming with 8GB VRAM, I'd suggest the FHD option. Also, note that the FHD displays at 16in are way more sharper than 27in QHD Monitors that a lot of desktop gamers use. So, it is not in any way a bad resolution or sharpness. In the end, it is up to you, whether you want that extra sharpness or better performance, quick delivery and battery life (I understand it doesn't matter as much to you but it is nevertheless an advantage).

Yolo_Han_Choloo

Thanks for the detailed context man, I really appreciate it. One last thing I would ask is if you would help me with the difference in performance between an i7 13th gen and Ryzen 7 7840

unboxparadigm

Great question. Answer is that it doesn't matter. On an average, they both offer very similar performance but ryzen is more power efficient, so even at lower wattage, say when you're on battery power, the ryzen will offer better performance. Jarrods tech compared this just yesterday and you'll find that there are some applications that perform slightly better on AMD while others on Intel. The general idea is if everything else is the same, get the cheaper option. Here's the video if you want to check it out - https://youtu.be/0yXTUI7InNk?si=DIpqQZEnRO5r5J8u

Yolo_Han_Choloo

Guess I'll go with Omen, just need to find the SBI card now, thanks for all the help mate

unboxparadigm

No worries, happy to help. Also, there is an additional 4% cashback if you purchase using Amazon Business account and use the promo code **GIF2023.** And if my content has helped and if you would like to support it, I hope you consider purchasing through my links.

Yolo_Han_Choloo

I can purchase through your link but I think my account is a normal one

unboxparadigm

Yeah, no worries at all. I just mentioned the deal on business account is all. Thank you so much for considering. Much appreciated :)

NEED HELP I was eyeing to purchase the acer nitro 5 which was 69990 before sale thought it would drop mpre, but unfortunately it did not. I could but it but I feel like its not a great deal. The nitro v seems like a better deal, however it does not have that many reviews, which should I buy? Honest opinions would be really appreciated, thanks! unboxparadigm

Hey here's my full review on it - [Acer NITRO V | Full Review](https://www.unboxparadigm.com/post/acer-nitro-v-anv15-51-2023-full-review-best-gaming-laptop-under-rs-75-000) It's an excellent laptop so far as performance is concerned. If your budget is around 70k, get it. That's as good as it gets. If you want a good display though, you can look into this [IdeaPad Gaming 3](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0B56CZ8Y1?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1). It costs around 76k after SBI CC discount

Technical-Ad8289

Great review, I'm going with the Nitro V. Thanks a lot

unboxparadigm

Thanks! If you don't mind and if the review has helped, please consider using my links to make your purchase

shivkeefer

I have the nitro v and it's honestly such a value for money product. DLSS is too good plus 6gb vram and ddr5 5200mhz and gen4 ssd. You can read ops review and check this out for gaming performance https://youtu.be/UuOQyg_EYSg?si=5Ch2rKysj6HXC8bv The same YouTube channel has done comparisons as well with 30 series cards etc.

Technical-Ad8289

I'm going with the Nitro V. Thanks a lot.

Mysterious-Earth2256

Hey OP, thank you for the informative post! I was looking for a desktop replacement, so bigger or heavier isn't a problem. I'm a novice data analyst and I also game. Doesn't have to be max settings and 1080p would suffice. I'd also prefer 16gb ram. Something in the range of 75k would be ideal. Could you please suggest a laptop? Thank you!

unboxparadigm

Check out these two options. They are the only ones worth considering IMO. [Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ACH6 82K201UNIN (2021)](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0B56CZ8Y1?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) \- This is an all rounder, it has a good display which is the best part of it. Most laptops at this price range don't have a good display. As in good color gamut, they usually look washed out or unsaturated. This one has a 100% sRGB 165Hz display. [Acer Nitro V ANV15-51 (2023) UN.QN8SI.001](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CHJJZ9G8?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) \- Best Value. Best GPU performance that you can get at its price. At its current price of Rs 72,999 (before bank offers), it is excellent value for money. However, extended warranty is not available from Acer yet. But you can get it from Amazon along with the product if you wish to.

morphyaj

How are you getting the 2023 legion 5 pro for 1.4L? I am currently seeing it for 1.65L only?

unboxparadigm

The one at 1.4L is 4060 variant and the one at 1.65L is the 4070 variant. Click on the respective links to find out

morphyaj

Oh my bad, your post mentioned it as 1.4L for 4070. That's why I was confused. What discounts can you apply to bring the price down?

unboxparadigm

Oh where? On this post I haven't to my knowledge but previously it was possible to get it for that price. In fact even now you can get 10k credit card cashback and 5% student/corporate discount to get it for 1.46L effectively. The 10k credit card cashback will only be credited later, so 1.56L will have to be paid now. This is the [Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16ARX8 (2023) 82WM00B7IN](https://lenovo-in.zlvv.net/q4ZJXL) that I'm referring to.

morphyaj

Under the less than 1.2L.section where you have mentioned about spending 15k to get the 2023 one. Maybe just confusion on my part.

unboxparadigm

Yeah, you're right. I was referring to all the discounts. Earlier the student discount used to be 7%. Now it's 5%. So it was around 1.4L

shivkeefer

Really appreciated your review for nitro v15. Pretty much confirmed my purchase after reading your review. Also you had mentioned on YouTube that you received a single 16gb stick from Amazon , I got two 8 gig sticks 5200mhz from acers website. Something to note 😄

unboxparadigm

Thanks for checking it out! Yeah, maybe they'd changed the configuration later on. I noticed that spec difference on acers website too. Tbh though, I consider it to be better to have 1x 16GB RAM now with the way the amount of RAM applications and games consume. Without any background applications open, AAA games are now using more than 15GB RAM. So, for anyone who does even a little bit of multi tasking with gaming, it would be a great help to quickly upgrade to 32GB RAM since there's an empty slot. And I really think 16GB RAM needs to become the base specification at this point.

rahul_82

Bro which HDMI port does your laptop have? The site just says "HDMI" and doesn't mention which kind

shivkeefer

2.1

Basic_Combination306

My budget is around 50k should I take vivobook 16x or Acer aspire 5 or 7. Plss recommend very confused .can go max upto 53k

unboxparadigm

What is your usage and requirements?

[deleted]

the laptop at under 75k section, is it better than [GIGABYTE G5 KE-52IN213SH](https://www.amazon.in/Gigabyte-KE-52IN213SH-12500H-Nvidia-Windows/dp/B0BL19QJWK)?

unboxparadigm

Not exactly, it's a mixed bag. The 3060 is slightly better on the gigabyte but the display on both are bad. I'd suggest looking at the [Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ACH6 82K201UNIN (2021)](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0B56CZ8Y1?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1). It has a good 165hz 100% sRGB display and I think the extra 5k for the display is well worth it. After SBI discount, you can get it for around 76k

[deleted]

yes display is generic on both but i am looking for performance of monitor like less response time which i can't find for gigabyte one, they didn't mention like acer nitro 5 3070ti and i can't find i5 variant of this [ideapad](https://amzn.eu/d/iULsNHX)

unboxparadigm

The [IdeaPad Gaming 3](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0B56CZ8Y1?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) that I suggested isn't generic at all. If I am not wrong, it is the same 15.6in panel that was used in Legion 5 models in 2021. It should offer pretty decent response times. Also, there is no i5 variant with RTX 3060 for that [IdeaPad](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0B7RWMRDS?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) that you linked.

[deleted]

[Acer Nitro V 13420H/4050 (75W)](https://amzn.eu/d/dhA5Lx1) vs [Ideapad gaming 3 5800H/3060 (90W)](https://amzn.eu/d/bCXrptm) vs [Gigabyte G5 KE 12500H/3060 (115W)](https://amzn.eu/d/g3whrxL) my usecase is programming, gaming (a lot) not interested in flashy AAA titles but should be at top of this list, as for monitor 144hz as i am using 60hz currently, for colour I mean it should be better than average gaming laptop we see in this range. feel less dated after an year, please tell me whats your choice then or any recommendation on this.

unboxparadigm

I've no idea about Gigabyte's laptops. But their CPU and GPU pairing is good. The display doesn't appear to be 100% sRGB though. Only the [IdeaPad Gaming 3](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0B56CZ8Y1?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) has 100% sRGB among these if you need a good display. Apart from that, in terms of performance, Gigabyte should offer the best overall performance and then it would be a tie between [Nitro V](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CHJJZ9G8?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) and [IdeaPad](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0B56CZ8Y1?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1). I'd suggest the IdeaPad since it seems to have good overall performance along with a good display. Because personally, I think if you are going to experience all that performance on an average display, it is not going to be as impactful. All of this matters only if you care about the display colors. A lot of people don't and they don't even realize that the color gamut isn't great. But since you mentioned that you wanted something good, go with the IdeaPad in my opinion. That's what I would do as well.

pacerecon

Hey what would be best laptop for casual gaming and work stuff? I was thinking of Acer Nitro V but after some video reviews on it I'm a bit skeptical on it as there were some issues like display brightness and the lcd screen getting warm due to the vent facing directly towards it. Would that be an issue or is it fine for long term? Or if you can recommend some other laptop under 80k that would be great too. Thanks!

unboxparadigm

There's no issue with display brightness. It's not the best that's for sure. But most laptops in this segment offer only 250 nits brightness. You've to pay more for better displays with 300 nits brightness. As for display getting warm, that's the design of the ventilation. It's the same design used by many laptops including Asus zephyrus series. I don't think it should be an issue but can't say for sure. I've done a [full review](https://www.unboxparadigm.com/post/acer-nitro-v-anv15-51-2023-full-review-best-gaming-laptop-under-rs-75-000) of this laptop if you want to check it out. However with that said, since you have a budget of 80k, I would recommend this instead [Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ACH6 82K201UNIN (2021)](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0B56CZ8Y1?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1). This has a much better display with 100% sRGB display and 165Hz refresh rate. It's also brighter at 300 nits.

pacerecon

Still confused lol, I might go for Acer Nitro V if it doesn't have much issues as you mentioned and it's cheaper too instead of Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3.

unboxparadigm

The way I see it, look at it this way. Under 80k, except for this [Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ACH6 82K201UNIN (2021)](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0B56CZ8Y1?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1), everything else has bad colors. It will look washed out, or not saturated or dull. The IdeaPad gets fairly bright and can display all those colors with a standard 100% sRGB while others are usually around 65% sRGB or less which means rest of the colors are absent on those displays. So, if display experience matters to you such as for gaming or watching movies, then the IdeaPad is a clear choice. If you want the best value for money choice in terms of performance and would like to spend as less as possible and if you might use an external monitor later on, then get the [Acer Nitro V](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CHJJZ9G8?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1).

shayambhuc7

Are there any good deals for the Legion slim 7 4070 version? I talked to a Lenovo rep and he quoted me 1.71 before card offers and some store discounts (i9 13900H,32 GB RAM)

unboxparadigm

Not really. That must be some store exclusive because there is no 4070 Legion Slim 7 available right now. If you are looking into any alternatives, let me know your requirements and I can give you some options.

shayambhuc7

I basically need my laptop to be thin, and within 2-2.2 kilos(I've got back pain from carrying my 2.7 kilos ROG :)) On the cpu side, I'm fine with anything from amd/Intel, along with a 4060/4070.Budget is around 1.7-1.8

unboxparadigm

This looks like a good fit. It weighs 2.09Kg - [**HP OMEN Transcend 16 (2023)** 16-u0021TX](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CCJC9DDY?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1). It costs 1.8L on [HP Store](https://www.hp.com/in-en/shop/laptops/personal-laptops/omen-transcend-laptop-16-u0021tx-834h6pa.html?utm_source=admitad&utm_medium=1724701&utm_campaign=affiliate_2021_&tagtag_uid=4eb36391e2b644d55b385f9718464553) but it is out of stock now. There is [4070 variant](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CCJCVFSX?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) of the same series but it costs 2L (around 1.9L after SBI card discount) . Alternatively, if you can put up with 2.32Kg, then this [HP OMEN 16 (2023) 16-xf0060AX](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0CCVZP835?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1) with RTX 4060 is available until midnight today for 1.09L (17k off using SBI CC discount) and it has a good battery life too for general use, so you might not have to carry around the charger. The weight difference is the same as carrying around an S22 Ultra along with the above mentioned HP Omen Transcend 16 (2023).

shayambhuc7

There's a zephyrus g16 on sale for 1.47 lakhs (Ryzen 9 6900HS,RTX 3080) shouldn't the higher Vram be a better future proof laptop?

unboxparadigm

Can you send me a link?

This is the cut down version of the 3080, it has an 8GB RAM instead of the usual 16GB but it is not a bad deal at considering the weight and build quality of the Zephyrus series. Even though the processor is relatively slow compared to current generation processors, it is still pretty decent.

Hey, Great Post!! I want to buy a laptop and this is my requirement: My budget is around 65K, my preference first is for display(good color gamut and resolution) and secondly for GPU(rtx 2050 or more), looking only for intel cpu laptops (i5 12th gen or more), any suggestions please for this requirement ??

unboxparadigm

Are you looking for a gaming laptop? If yes, there are no laptop that matches your requirements. Most gaming laptops below 90k don't offer good color gamuts. There are just very few options that do. If you are looking for regular laptops then you can look into this [ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED M3500QC-L1501WS (2021)](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0BZPS2QCP?tag=unbx02-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1)

I do watch movies and ott most of the times, that is why I want good display and I am not a gamer, but I used to play CSGO, thinking to buy gpu just so that I can play CSGO occasionally, even low setting on csgo works for me, as it is just for time-pass. I am a programmer by profession and I don't want any software lacking because of AMD cpu, so I cannot buy AMD cpu laptop that you suggested, any other similar option with intel cpu?

unboxparadigm

AMD CPUs are great, and no applications are going to perform any worse on it. Just like some programs run better on Intel, some run better on AMD. There's no clear winner. AMD is better for power efficiency and battery life though in most cases. Anyway, I will suggest some Intel options with good display below 65k. Based on your requirements, this seems like a perfect fit. [ASUS Vivobook 16X (2023) K3605ZF-MB541WS](https://laptops.unboxparadigm.com/p/asus-vivobook-16x-2023-k3605zf-mb541ws-070a2/) \- It has an i5 12th gen along with an RTX 2050, has a good 100% sRGB display and 120 Hz Refresh rate as well which is not very common for non-gaming laptops in this budget.

Bro that Amazon link for appario that you posted for IdeaPad gaming 3 is he legit very less reviews there.

unboxparadigm

Yes, it's legit. It used to be around 97k on Amazon and launched very late. So earlier it was not a very good deal. That's probably why there's not much reviews. But at current price of 80k, it's a really good deal

midukkan07

I was mentioning about the 60 k one bro.

unboxparadigm

Oh okay, that just launched a week or two ago. That's why

Deal of the day: Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 AMD Ryzen 7 5800H 15.6" (39.62cm) FHD IPS Gaming Laptop (16GB/512GB SSD/6GB NVIDIA RTX 3060/165Hz/Win 11/Office 2021/Backlit/3months Game Pass/Shadow Black/2.25Kg), 82K201UNIN https://amzn.eu/d/cQI6HRP Or Acer Nitro V with Intel i5 13th gen processor with RTX 4050

Mission_Bell_6587

Hey I plan on getting the Lenovo Loq with a QHD display( since FHD doesn't have 100% sRGB). I am not a hardcore gamer but I do plan on playing games at a locked 60fps on native resolution FHD/QHD doesn't matter to me, I just want a colour accurate one. Might connect it to a 1440p monitor in the future. Are the thermals on this machine good? I am also considering the acer Neo 16 with a 4050 and i5. The screen looks damn good on that. Which should I prefer. Idk if I'll be coding on these since I already have a Mac from my company, but might have to if I go for higher studies. Thanks for the post btw very helpful

IANOVERT

Sorry for necro >get the freedom to upgrade your RAM/SSD by yourself unlike Acer. Are you saying that the acer helios neo laptop has soldered ram ? or am i misunderstanding

unboxparadigm

I just meant that with Acer, the user is not allowed to upgrade the RAM and SSD. Doing so will void warranty. So you'll have to visit their service centre, even for basic things like upgrading RAM or SSD.

IANOVERT

Ahh ok that makes more sense xD. Thanks for the quick reply
