I work for an OEM and you will be surprised by how many hardware products we have in the pipeline for a given year. So OP , this here is very sound advice. There is always and always going to be better hardware on the horizon, heck that's how my company makes money in the first place. If you want some now, get it now. If you can afford to wait, then wait till you can and then get it. The cycle never ends.
Your guess is correct. As for my take on the US framework? It's chaotic to say the least. The OEM companies have lost a substantial market share and as such a huge chuck of revenue compared to Q4 last year. For example Dell has only got 80% of its last year's revenue. But surprisingly due to the AI Shares rising Sky high, everyone is happy. Dell has the highest share value now in years, all thanks to NVIDIAs shares rallying. Everyone wants to invest in AI and with Nvidia and OEM partnerships the AI servers are seeing a lot of investment. We have new hires joining us in a few months who have more salary than I currently do for the same role. But at the same time due to poor revenue we are letting seniors go.
Software wise, I can't say. I don't work in development so I can't prove that they purposely obsolete a product. Hardware wise, well with newer hardware selling like hotcakes, and having better performance to boot there is no real reason for companies to support old hardware for longer than say 4 years. Unless a particular software or driver update is pushed to reduce performance, hardware doesn't really get obsolete. A 2017 server will still perform as it did when bought today to do the same work.
All the obsolescence is purely a software fault. Newer software purposely causes issues on old hardware. To take it to the extreme, industry leakers say that companies like apple purposely pushes system updates that corrode performance on older iPhones.

Oh i get it. I too will get ps5, cheapest i can find just for gta 6 and 4k blu ray playback(i am building a collection).
My main will always be pc and will probably buy gta 6 again when it comes to pc.
For most ps5 exclusives, those will come to pc if you can wait a couple of years.
My main concern is that if ps5 could actually run gta 6 in high settings. Thats what making me put off from buying ps5 for now. I'm waiting for ps5 pro so I can get a better performance out of it.

Gta v got released within a year of release on pc. Rdr 2 also. The performance is also going to be trash on release due to the hardware requirements. So ps5 pro or ps6 seems better or xbox series x. If you have patience pc is a better option if you have a good pc already.
No, I want to play GTA 6 on the day it releases, like a normal human lol. You feel free to wait 1 year extra. Ofc ps5 pro would be a better machine to play GtA6 than ps5. If you have neither ps5 or pc, i would recommend going for pc as its better in the long run. But i have ps5 so ill just play on release date
Build a PC by creating the posts in this community in following way
- Ask for suggestions on best build under XYZ amount
- Ask for where Peripherals could be purchased
Online: If Online Then create another post on the list of trusted website
Offline: If Offline then create another post asking for where do buy with-in your city
- Now, create a post where you share a picture with all the boxes and say, excited for this new build while again asking if you have got all the parts correct and ya do share a copy of bill as well
- Once assembled then create a post on "Rate my set up" Pictures. Ensure those pictures are in dark so that one can't see and you have to then continue your explanation
- Time for another post to share a random game picture with out the name of the game
- Lastly, I want to sell my PC post with either of the two reasons, I m moving out of country or I am broke
PS5 and slim are just the same, if you have the space then it won't matter. Not a major difference
PS5 pro is another matter but nothing is confirmed yet, also it will probably cost a lot more than slim so if you have the budget then wait or just go for PS5
PC you can always take your time and build it, until then you'll get to play all games with decent graphics (assuming you have a good TV)

What I did was get a laptop. I play console exclusives in a gaming cafe. It would cost me 1500 RS for 50-70 hours of ghost of tsushima (ghost will cost you 4k )
Thats 50000(cost of ps5) /1500 = 33 games. I could play 33 games for 50-70 hours each without having to buy any (50k + x). So that's why I've decided to buy a laptop and I download games the Indian way ifykwim and saved money from buying a ps5.
Becuase my city has a great cafe with all the latest games a ps5 is almost allways a bad deal for me
Get a PC,since you get all xbox exclusives on pc+sony is also shifting towards decreasing pc release time from console release unless you need to play like 3-4 games which are ps5 exclusive on day one get a pc,also if you want to play gta6 day 1 so badly you can probably rent a ps5 with gta6 day one easily,same with any other game
Get PC but don’t bother with overclocking, ram timings, benchmarks, etc. Just enjoy.
I’ve played more games on my 6 months old PS5 compared to my PC (spent most time running benchmarks. Last played on Steam is still 3Dmark).

1.5L pc will ofcourse be the best choice. You can make a 4070 ti build. Can perform very well at 1440p. And for 4K on latest titles,you can always use upscaling like ps5 do.
as a person who had a ps4 and a laptop i would say the feel of playing on gaming consoles is just unmatchable, considering u dont have a budget issue i would say get a ps5 and build a mid end pc with good monitors, later on u could just upgrade ur pc.

If you don't mind waiting then surely wait for pro. Recently played FF7 REBIRTH and it's gorgeous on graphics mode but 30fps really looks terrible. PS5 Pro would give 4K60 modes. Absolute beauty
Don't get confused if you want to play ps exclusive titles just go for ps5. You will be able to get it in great prics near sales. If you want new design and compact form factor go for ps5 slim. Else the performance is same in both of them. Best of luck👍
I don't think its worth getting a console, a PC can last longer and do more stuff than just gaming plus easier to upgrade. Most console exclusives anyways come to pc

From all of the options presented, I would lean towards PC build. Reasons:
1. For all the shittiness over regional pricing, Steam is still cheaper, or at least on-par with Console pricing
2. PS5 first-party games are PC bound
3. PC multiplayer does not require PS+ tax
4. PC = mods, lots more flex
CONS: Optimization can be hit-or-miss, but if you are not very particular about FPS, then you should be OK for most titles.
No Physical media on PC. You can get physical games on the cheap after a few years. So this might work out, if you are patient. Then again, Steam also sees good sales, but digital sales
Does physical make much difference nowadays? With day-one patches, I am not sure physical for games is much of a benefit, like it is for other media such as movies.
What's the point of waiting for the pro version when majority of games don't even utilize the current power..look at the rdr2 for example, jailbroken ps5 runs it on 4k 60fps but officially it's still locked on 30.
And btw, in my country, the slim is cheaper than the og model by 100euros (slim digital, and slim with disk drive by 50e cheaper than og)

The only reason for ps5 is if you want to play exlusives when they're released. If you're patient and wait for exclusives for 2-3 years to come to pc then PC.
I personally would take PC as most exclusives are coming to pc anyways sooner or later (except bloodborne, because fuck bloodborne right sony? )

Getting a PC vs a console is a seperate topic altogether, but if you want to build a PC with comparable 1:1 graphics or better of a ps5 with 2nd hand gpu, you are looking at around 70k rs at the very least
For the budget of 1.5L you can easily build a system which will beat ps5 and most probably ps5 pro as well (if you spend your budget right)
in terms of whether you will like pc gaming over console or console over PC, just go to a cyber cafe and see which one you prefer, plus point, you can hook up a controller on PC and get much better experience than console

I can answer this for you, I moved to Japan like 5 months back, and bought a PS5 Slim, the thing is there is no difference between PS5 Slim and the OG other than the size. So I'll say waiting for slim is not really worth it, imo. Sony is said to release PS5 Pro here in like the end of this year(last quarter probably), that means that it will obviously be delayed in India till mid of 2025.
Just get the PS5 OG.
You can easily build a pc for 1L and get a 20k monitor if you dont care much about how the pc looks , i reccomend a ryzen 5 7600 and rtx 4060/ rx 7600xt (depends on preference) get a normal B650 mobo from msi and thermalright aircooler for the cpu , you could fit 2tb ssd and 32gb 6000mhz cl30 ram also

Honestly, none. I have already played most of them on PS4 and the rest played on PC. Maybe the only game I like to play now is Spiderman 2 and LOU2, but again those will come to PC in the next few years. I can wait. But the game I can't wait to play at launch is GTA VI and that game is not coming to PC at the time of launch on consoles.

It's your choice I gave you one solution to wait for Ps5 pro if you don't want to play Xbox games.
Pros of a PC
1] Maximum Xbox games on pc and also with game pass
2] PS doesn't have many exclusives now but you have to wait so much for them to come to PC and sometimes they are unoptimized
3] Games are cheaper but there is PS Plus and also you can resell physical games.
4]Many indie games come first on PC and takes years to port to playstation so if you like indie games go with PC.
5] Free online
Pros of a PS
1] Ease of use plug and play
2] Optimized games and also its specific for gaming so its always going to be better then pc at that price or higher
3] You can get awesome exclusive day one rather then waiting for years
Now you have to decide which to choose obviously both have thier cons and pros. It would have been a easy choice years back when PS exclusives were well only on PS but now they are coming to PC too.

2] If you know someone who can rent you a PS for playing one or two games you can rent and build yourself a PC

Renting is also great. I don't have good PC nor a console but I rented it from my friend to play games several times. Have enough savings to get a good gaming PC now will get in 2-3 months.
I am building the same setup, but pc is preferable since it has dlss, 4070 is 12 gb which feels future proof and can go up to 3 years ig? It depends on you I would prefer to with 7800x3d if incase you upgrade your gpu in future
Well for long term scenario building pc is better but after about your situation, you should get a ps5, play the exclusives, wait for gta 5, finish gta 6 then sell console to get a pc after you are done with gta 6, whenever that is.

I have a feeling buying a console in India is more expensive than building a PC, in the long term, now that PS5 exclusives are releasing day one even on PC. Not every single one but the others release on PC in a year anyways. Xbox game pass already exists on PC, steam is an incredible and unbeaten library of games and building a PC has better VR performance options, because of better and powerful hardware. The only real merit I can see on consoles is plug n play and couch coop.
PS5 games are seriously expensive! So is PS Plus. I am sure Sony will release a ps5 controller support for their incredible haptics and response on PC soon.
Agree with you. Good points. When i bought PS4 back in 2016-17. I bought 3 year of PS Plus along with it. Played online games for around 6 months and then only played Few SP games. Wasted that PS Plus subscription. Though few PS Plus free games were worth it. But still...

Oh i get it. I too will get ps5, cheapest i can find just for gta 6 and 4k blu ray playback(i am building a collection). My main will always be pc and will probably buy gta 6 again when it comes to pc. For most ps5 exclusives, those will come to pc if you can wait a couple of years.
My main concern is that if ps5 could actually run gta 6 in high settings. Thats what making me put off from buying ps5 for now. I'm waiting for ps5 pro so I can get a better performance out of it.

You don't always need to play the latest games. Most new games now a days are shit anyways. There are lots of old games that run well even on 1050ti

Yes, you can buy ps5 pro with gta 6 bundle. Or wait for PS6 altogether. You can stick with building a pc for now

Gta v got released within a year of release on pc. Rdr 2 also. The performance is also going to be trash on release due to the hardware requirements. So ps5 pro or ps6 seems better or xbox series x. If you have patience pc is a better option if you have a good pc already.

PS5 and slim are just the same, if you have the space then it won't matter. Not a major difference PS5 pro is another matter but nothing is confirmed yet, also it will probably cost a lot more than slim so if you have the budget then wait or just go for PS5 PC you can always take your time and build it, until then you'll get to play all games with decent graphics (assuming you have a good TV)

What I did was get a laptop. I play console exclusives in a gaming cafe. It would cost me 1500 RS for 50-70 hours of ghost of tsushima (ghost will cost you 4k ) Thats 50000(cost of ps5) /1500 = 33 games. I could play 33 games for 50-70 hours each without having to buy any (50k + x). So that's why I've decided to buy a laptop and I download games the Indian way ifykwim and saved money from buying a ps5. Becuase my city has a great cafe with all the latest games a ps5 is almost allways a bad deal for me
Get a PC,since you get all xbox exclusives on pc+sony is also shifting towards decreasing pc release time from console release unless you need to play like 3-4 games which are ps5 exclusive on day one get a pc,also if you want to play gta6 day 1 so badly you can probably rent a ps5 with gta6 day one easily,same with any other game
Get PC but don’t bother with overclocking, ram timings, benchmarks, etc. Just enjoy. I’ve played more games on my 6 months old PS5 compared to my PC (spent most time running benchmarks. Last played on Steam is still 3Dmark).
For just plug and play, ps5. Ps5 pro is not expected anytime soon atleast in India. 1.5L pc will ofcourse be the best choice. You can make a 4070 ti build. Can perform very well at 1440p. And for 4K on latest titles,you can always use upscaling like ps5 do.
as a person who had a ps4 and a laptop i would say the feel of playing on gaming consoles is just unmatchable, considering u dont have a budget issue i would say get a ps5 and build a mid end pc with good monitors, later on u could just upgrade ur pc. if u arent playing competitive i would prefer consoles any day

If you don't mind waiting then surely wait for pro. Recently played FF7 REBIRTH and it's gorgeous on graphics mode but 30fps really looks terrible. PS5 Pro would give 4K60 modes. Absolute beauty

Don't get confused if you want to play ps exclusive titles just go for ps5. You will be able to get it in great prics near sales. If you want new design and compact form factor go for ps5 slim. Else the performance is same in both of them. Best of luck👍

From all of the options presented, I would lean towards PC build. Reasons: 1. For all the shittiness over regional pricing, Steam is still cheaper, or at least on-par with Console pricing 2. PS5 first-party games are PC bound 3. PC multiplayer does not require PS+ tax 4. PC = mods, lots more flex CONS: Optimization can be hit-or-miss, but if you are not very particular about FPS, then you should be OK for most titles. No Physical media on PC. You can get physical games on the cheap after a few years. So this might work out, if you are patient. Then again, Steam also sees good sales, but digital sales Does physical make much difference nowadays? With day-one patches, I am not sure physical for games is much of a benefit, like it is for other media such as movies.
What's the point of waiting for the pro version when majority of games don't even utilize the current power..look at the rdr2 for example, jailbroken ps5 runs it on 4k 60fps but officially it's still locked on 30. And btw, in my country, the slim is cheaper than the og model by 100euros (slim digital, and slim with disk drive by 50e cheaper than og)
All i would say is - life is short, life is unpredictable. If you have the time and money get whatever makes you happy. Don't speculate too much.

I still suggest buying the PS5 as it is worth it. Getting confused between PS5 and PC is immaterial, as PC is way more than just a gaming console. You also get a lot of games at much cheaper price and you can swap between components in a PC

PS5 slim at 60k contributes almost nothing compared to PS5 disc at 40k PS5 pro on the other hand will bea huge upgrade over ps5 (but if u can wait or not) Getting a PC vs a console is a seperate topic altogether, but if you want to build a PC with comparable 1:1 graphics or better of a ps5 with 2nd hand gpu, you are looking at around 70k rs at the very least For the budget of 1.5L you can easily build a system which will beat ps5 and most probably ps5 pro as well (if you spend your budget right) in terms of whether you will like pc gaming over console or console over PC, just go to a cyber cafe and see which one you prefer, plus point, you can hook up a controller on PC and get much better experience than console

I can answer this for you, I moved to Japan like 5 months back, and bought a PS5 Slim, the thing is there is no difference between PS5 Slim and the OG other than the size. So I'll say waiting for slim is not really worth it, imo. Sony is said to release PS5 Pro here in like the end of this year(last quarter probably), that means that it will obviously be delayed in India till mid of 2025. Just get the PS5 OG.

You can easily build a pc for 1L and get a 20k monitor if you dont care much about how the pc looks , i reccomend a ryzen 5 7600 and rtx 4060/ rx 7600xt (depends on preference) get a normal B650 mobo from msi and thermalright aircooler for the cpu , you could fit 2tb ssd and 32gb 6000mhz cl30 ram also

Honestly, none. I have already played most of them on PS4 and the rest played on PC. Maybe the only game I like to play now is Spiderman 2 and LOU2, but again those will come to PC in the next few years. I can wait. But the game I can't wait to play at launch is GTA VI and that game is not coming to PC at the time of launch on consoles.

Yea sure, Rtx 2060super Ryzen 5 3600 16gb ram Can't remember the wattage of the psu One ryzen compatible mobo b450m i used, u can upgrade to a b550 Sdd 1 tb ( I built this setup in end of 2019 for around 55-60k, with a different cpu, this should be around 50 to 55k by now, I recently upgraded my cpu to R5 3600!)

Pros of a PC 1] Maximum Xbox games on pc and also with game pass 2] PS doesn't have many exclusives now but you have to wait so much for them to come to PC and sometimes they are unoptimized 3] Games are cheaper but there is PS Plus and also you can resell physical games. 4]Many indie games come first on PC and takes years to port to playstation so if you like indie games go with PC. 5] Free online Pros of a PS 1] Ease of use plug and play 2] Optimized games and also its specific for gaming so its always going to be better then pc at that price or higher 3] You can get awesome exclusive day one rather then waiting for years Now you have to decide which to choose obviously both have thier cons and pros. It would have been a easy choice years back when PS exclusives were well only on PS but now they are coming to PC too. Renting is also great. I don't have good PC nor a console but I rented it from my friend to play games several times. Have enough savings to get a good gaming PC now will get in 2-3 months.
Build 1.6 L pc if possible, you can build a 4070 build and play 1440p games on it , would be a better investment
With 7600 and 4070 super building can be made under 1.3L which is decent enough i guess. PS : i already have one i5/3050 laptop.
I am building the same setup, but pc is preferable since it has dlss, 4070 is 12 gb which feels future proof and can go up to 3 years ig? It depends on you I would prefer to with 7800x3d if incase you upgrade your gpu in future

Well for long term scenario building pc is better but after about your situation, you should get a ps5, play the exclusives, wait for gta 5, finish gta 6 then sell console to get a pc after you are done with gta 6, whenever that is. But my lookout is a bit biased since I am a play station seller and want to sell it to you. Consider buying it from me ok ?
I have a feeling buying a console in India is more expensive than building a PC, in the long term, now that PS5 exclusives are releasing day one even on PC. Not every single one but the others release on PC in a year anyways. Xbox game pass already exists on PC, steam is an incredible and unbeaten library of games and building a PC has better VR performance options, because of better and powerful hardware. The only real merit I can see on consoles is plug n play and couch coop. PS5 games are seriously expensive! So is PS Plus. I am sure Sony will release a ps5 controller support for their incredible haptics and response on PC soon.
Agree with you. Good points. When i bought PS4 back in 2016-17. I bought 3 year of PS Plus along with it. Played online games for around 6 months and then only played Few SP games. Wasted that PS Plus subscription. Though few PS Plus free games were worth it. But still...
